IYGEAL:

On this thread lots of people use them. I have other brokers but of course I favour Morgan Capital.

In terms of daily market price list and reports, I have to give it to Investment-One. You don't need to download any pdf to view their colourful market report with clear closing prices and percentage gains/losses. They even improved it late last year after adopting a newer model that didn't look good. I guess their core clients complained and they brought back the old interface and improved it. I only have first bank shares bought at around 3 or 4 naira in 2020 with them cheesy

Morgan Capital won my heart with their iTrade platform and because that's the first broker someone introduced me to when I was trying to start stock market plays. They were charging the lowest fees too; I think they still do but they increased their initial fees by 50%.

Thanks bro

Please how long does it typically takes for Afrinvest to do this? I reached out to them and they said 72 hours, it's way more than that by my calculations. Despite several reminders.

Drop your name on a dead thread, I'll speak to someone.

The user interface of Afrinvest is not cool at all when compared with Meristem. But I still prefer their portal and services than that of Meristem.

Meristem has no issues. Even God forbid anything happens, family doesn't need to inform them, just to email them and ask that the shares are sold and money is sent to your account( especially the one being usually used).

Talking from at least 7 yrs with them after leaving good, old Options Security( hasn't really digitalised).

They even have WhatsApp contact, weekly updates and analysis which they send to one's email....

Apel Asset too is doing a good job( doubles as Registrar).

Be careful. Transcorp hotel made a revenue of N31 billion in 2022, assuming Transcorp will make a revenue of N50 billion in 2023.

At a market capitalization of N1 Trillion, that is at a multiple of 20 compared to the revenue which is on the high side

Even BUA foods at the current price should have a market capitalization/ revenue of 10 which is high..

Price/Sale ratio of 3 and below is better depending on the industry the maximum should be 5.

At a Price/Sale ratio of 20 for Transcorp hotel, it will take 20 years for payback assuming all the revenue was used to buy the company. The current PE of Transcorp hotel should be more than 50.

Enjoy the ride but don't be caught unprepared.

It is advisable to invest with figures

At a Price Sale ratio of 20, if the stock should have a net profit margin of 20% which is good enough the Price Earning ratio will be 100.

With a profit after tax of N4 billion from a revenue of N31 billion in 2022, that will be a net profit margin of 13%. We are assuming that the net profit margin will increase to 20% in 2023.

So the expectation of a PE of 100 at the current market price of N100 is in order

The way people come here to defend Meristem despite their clear inefficiency called for attention, I couldn't use any of their interface since yesterday, the same thing could continue today and some people here will still defend them despite their big commissions and lack of value for money to justify the commissions being charged.
Sometimes, I wonder if this people understand the meaning of time value of money, imagined you just sent them money to carryout a trade and suddenly the platform stopped working for complete trading days.

I believed if you are charging more than other brokerage company, you should be more efficient than other ones that charge less but the reverse is the case and their marketers will come and defend them.

If you send them money on a normal day to credit your wallet, you will not spend less than two hrs before getting the money in your trading wallet, very unreliable people, big for nothing.

If you talk now, they will say they have billions worth of structure in ikoyi, abeg sey na big building the customers wan chop abi quality services.

Pls someone should tell me how to move my portfolio from them, this people are just over hyped company in my opinion.

I understand

MORGAN did worst last year... In my opinion it's advisable to have more than a broker...

I have more than a broker just that meritrade gives me what I love so I have most of trades there... I seldom use the other(s). I'll probably add one more broker to my list

People work for those companies, so it's not surprising. I see the way they were dragging other firms, while ignoring complaints. You don't have to get triggered over it

I have been using Meristem for years now and have not had issues with them. They resond to my emails promptly, so you would not expect us to say otherwise. Before the recent migration to the new trading interface, i have never had an issue trading onlne.

Infact with the issue yesterday due to the migration, all I did was send an email with a price and they sold yesterday. If the platform did not work yesterday, it is understandable due to technical issues, and did you explore the option of sending an email.

Sometimes, I send an email and if i have delayed response, I call the CS and it gets attended to immediately. If you feel unsatisfied with their services its okay to move to another broker. I was also once trading with Morgan Capital and moved to Meristem.

The day I feel unsatisfied with them, I will port. Its your money and you deserve the best services you can get.

Nobody is expecting a perfect system but they can't be worse as well, they must have some standard interms of service delivery that will differentiate them from others who charge less, I believed we are paying more for better services and not for popularity.

There is huge difference between popularity and quality.

Someone should tell me how to move from them abeg.

No need to overflog this issue. Just pick a new broker and visit or reach out to them via email to open an account. Tell them you want to move your portfolio from Meristem, they would give forms to fill and you may possibly be required to write a letter authorizing that. Your new broker knows what to do.
