It would not have made any sense opening it in the east since Igbo is already spoken as a second language in the east. In Lagos there are millions of igbos who can’t speak or properly speak their language, so this is a great help. At the very least, 16-17 percent of lagosians are igbos
Igbo, a second language in the East? Do you guys know the meaning of words you use?

Mumu talk Igbo blood is already in Tinunbu Family Fela Family Adeleke family Akeredolus Alafin of Oyo so Segun Arinze, Singer Yemi Alade Desmond Eliot, Rapper Skepa ,Rapper Rotimi , mathematics wizard Faith Odunsi etc hate yorubas?? according to ur wrapped mind

Its simple allow the kids to get aquited with both there father and mother language and culture if u want to lord over them in the name of being of father of the house u will end up loosing out woefully

Ugo said there mother use to teach them Igbo secretly meaning the Father obviously banned it at home imagine children u co owns with ur partner but banned them from learning anything about ur partner culture none JUJU be that ?

Goodnewsforlife:
I pity any man that marries an igbo wan especially if u aren’t igbo

See the case of chinedu in Lagos, nothing is heard about d father despite been alive n the guy hates yorubas but love igbo

Many of them train their kids from tender age to hate yorubas

Yes, he is Adetokunbo. But, does matter?

Nigeria can only move forward when we don’t relate with each on the basis of Dauda, Chukwudi or Ogunfemi.

Our fathers divided and destroy Nigeria by emphasizing on the difference between “Apata” and “Akpata.” We should do better.

Did you close your eyes to the part where he said his father was also upset when their mom tried to teach them Igbo ?

Why such a one -sided narrative ? What is wrong with you people ?
I believe the father saw how possessive the wan was and that got him upset. At the end you can see that it's a one sided thing. Her agenda don agend...

Kids u obviosly need some chocolate bar,,,

quote author=Ofemannnu post=128023428]I don't think he has an Igbo mother. He also doesn't have an Igbo name.
Yorubas are mostly soft and always show love to Igbos either male or female but their Igbo brethren are something else.
This has caused enmity especially recently.
Sam Aluko
Wọlé Soyinka
Obasanjo
Banjo
Fajuyi
Pa Adebanjo etc
are some of the Yoruba that have shown softness to Igbo people.
Yoruba always look at the Igbos as their brother, junior brother.

oga this is not about tribalism but sense of belonging

This guy is making d same mistake of chinedu, he has an igbo mother n a Yoruba father but now he doesn’t identify with the Yoruba people

He’s here showing it to the world that he prefers his mothers side, so tomorrow now he will want to contest n he will want yorubas to support him?

Who does that?

I know that in no time he will b given a chieftancy title in igbo land, I can bet that for sure but tomorrow when the time comes he will want to claim Yoruba

Before u shout tribalism, look at Desmond Elliot n Adeleke of osun, they both have mixed parents n they flow well with each side

My point is once u relate with one n ignore d other one, when d time comes don’t expect anything from d side u ignore

He couldn’t have opened it in the east because there’s almost no child born in the east that cannot speak Igbo but there are millions of Igbos in Lagos that cannot speak or properly speak Igbo.

Lagos is largely home for the three major tribes and the over 250 ethnic groups in the country and the Igbos are at the very least 16% of Lagos population

You can’t sell snow to an Eskimo, igbo is the major language in igboland and everybody speaks it there
This is for Igbo kids and other ethic kids who want to learn Igbo outside igboland

stop using a separate moniker to quote me. I will school you instead, English is Nigeria’s first language being our only official language. Every other language in their region would be regarded as a second language aside the country’s official language which is the only official language of a country which these groups are part of

I watched the documentary and I didn't feel good when he said that his mum always frown at them whenever they try to speak Yoruba at home but she was cool with them speaking Igbo. His father is Yoruba while his mother is Igbo. But that doesn't mean that she should shield them from learning their father's culture.

You skipped the part where he also said his father didn't like them speaking Igbo. undecided

They could've easily learned both languages if their parents weren't so contentious.

Giannis Ugo Atemtokumpos Signed for over 260m$ remain most expensive player in NBA history the guy is in the league of Messi and Ronaldo ,,even if u cry till eternity it change nothing,,,,,,,,Nuruden Adeleke, Desmond Eliot Yemi Alade Segun Arinze all have yoruba fathers and Igbo mothers respectively but speak both Nigeria language perfectly well
Ugo father started bitting morethan he can chew when he banned the children from ever learning there Igbo mum language and culture that was genesis of clash of intrest to the extent there mother have to hide while teaching them her language according to Sina Ugo atemtokumpos as expected the man will lost out because most children spend more time or embraces mother more while most Yoruba men marry Igbo women for love beauty and quality they possess Some marry Igbo women out of longer throats otherwise what is the like of FFK and Seyilaw doing with Igbo women they have Igbowomen at home and kids with Igbo blood flowing in them still going about shouting Yoruba ronu and ranting about Igbos

casualobserver:

the man died in 2017, Giannis was already an adult of 22yrs so stop trying to redefine the narrative as you people always do. the video clearly states that this was when they were kids.

The father was upset when the mom would teach Igbo also. Inter tribal marriages should teach kids both languages and cultures. Inter tribal marriages are the key to ONE NIGERIA smiley <3

Guys please dont make this tribal. Everyone knows kids tend to speak their mother's language and tend to be close to mom hence the term MOTHER TONGUE.

The guy named his foundation after his father, and he said he loves both his dad and mom's culture. Let's just leave it.
Inter marriage can never make Nigeria one.

Nigeria is not one and can never be one

They are busy saying Yoruba men dont marry Igbo women, yet the same Yoruba men will marry just about anything from anywhere but/except Yoruba women.

So this hatred for Igbo should atleast make them reject Nigeria for Oduduwa.

Y is it Igbo that want out of Nigeria

Why should they be disappointed? That means they don't know the level of achievement their own language has. The Yoruba has more international recognition than any other Nigeria language. It is being taught in universities in the US. So there is no reason why Yorubas should be jealous with his choice most likely influenced by his mum who doesn't like him speaking Yoruba. It's funny the mother is still so tribalistic after all her international exposure.

Funny enough, you didn't consider that the investment is still in Yoruba land. Sorry o.

Of course, the investment makes no sense in the East cos Igbo language is dominant there.
It should be in a non Eastern region for Igbo and others
