"struggling for relevance, underperforming for the past two seasons" Iheanacho for Nigeria in last 7 months:

vs Sierra Leone ⚽
vs Sao Tome 🅰️
vs Saudi Arabia ⚽
vs Lesotho 🅰️
vs Zimbabwe ⚽

He started only twice, scored or assisted in every appearance.

Komekn as usual is doing his best to rubbish Iheanacho... Somebody is in form in the national team, but you're trying to downplay his importance because he isn't scoring frequently in some overrated second division..

Las Las, we're all judging the Super Eagles 🦅 performance by emotions only.
José Peseiro is not the best coach out there, but he knows what he's been doing so far in this tournament. He knows that these small teams are taking the no gree for anybody slogan personal and baba wants to be as careful as possible.

He's been playing Osimhen as a lone striker because he and we all know that Osimhen will/should give us goals at least in the group stages, but idan has been misfiring so far. We sha move, tactics no spoil.

In this Round of 16 stage, don't be surprised if you see a 3-5-2 formation with Lookman/Iheanacho and Osimhen at the front to torment any person that volunteers to man the post for the opponents' team. Once he does this, I'll know he's a tactician.

Bottom line is that he knows what he's doing, na we dey misfire. Apart from Osimhen seff, Chukwueze and Simon Moses no get football brains of proper wingers at all, I'm waiting for the best of Ademola Lookman, Victor Osimhen and Kelechi Iheanacho in the knockout stages. AFCON just start 📌

For that one I think they said Simon or was it Lookman was offside and interfering with play but it's not too clear.

Don't be surprised if Osimhen's market value drops and clubs lose interest.

He only has himself to blame.

We are being a bit too dramatic. I think he'll be fine.

This is how bad it gets. Although one thing tells me we have a mission impossible, something still tells me if we can start to convert, we will go all the way to the finals.

Every single one of them who joined that train to Saudi really dropped in quality. Mahrez be looking so funny and Mane too, though he is lucky to be surrounded by good players in that Senegalese team.

Disagree profusely.

Mane in last AFCON group stages: 1 penalty goal (only goal Senegal scored in group)

Mane in knockout: 2 goals, 2 assists.

Mahrez last AFCON (Algeria scored 1 goal, failed to win any, knocked out)

Both players were playing for two of the world's best. 🌍 just different.

Good morning guys
Cape Verde too clinical. Phew. I pray they don't score us first. All those tension gets worse and the Nigerian fans may do worse than the ivorians that went riot nights ago if they mess up.

When your device is failing, you restart it as a first attempt to solve it. Osimhen needs a reset. Maybe bringing him in the second half will do just that.

MetalJigsaw:
That's is a call for disaster. You can't bench the most deadliest striker in the tournament. His presence alone is a handful for defenders.

And don't just conclude on him so soon. A sleeping lion is more dangerous than a lively dog.

We are seeing all the surprises we will have in this AFCON. However, there will be no surprises in the eventual champions.

opes:

Not same prophet. It was Rev Ogya that said Ghana won't make it out of group stage. It was a guess work, according to him, Egypt will defeat Ghana and kudus will be disgraced in the encounter. Kudus went to score two goals and the game ended in draw. Gaisie prophecied unexpected country will win AFCON. Gaisie in Ghana is like our Nigeria Primate Ayodele.lol

Going into the tournanment as it reaches its advanced stage, it is always certain that team managers and coaches find a hard time devising some tactical noose that will be difficult for other opponents to decode.. it only gets tougher and stronger as feeble(weak) teams are kicked out.

The hopes of our team advancing further rests on what the technical crew handlers as the team(Super Eagles) has been playing below/par what most of us expect here, our best game so far being against Cote d'lvoire.
I have come up with 4 best line up for the SE if they hope of advancing further this tournament with the remaining matches.

Please Anyone who knows Someone that knows the people who knows Someone that knows Peseiro should tag them.

My first line up is: 4- 3- 3.
This is the one of the best lineups. This lineup will link our talismans to the main Striker(Osimhen)
This tactics was effective with Rohr during our 2019 AFCON campaign it paid off in the game against Cameroun.
This formation had Iwobi played behind Ighalo that had an assist and also gave us the winning goal. I think Iwobi pairing up Osimhen is a good thing cos he will cause a lot of treats to the opponent defense line with "sexy penetration passes".

Iwobi playing deep has not been helpful in our recent matches this AFCON. The best of Iwobi is behind the striking force.
His capabilities speaks for him.

I chose Musa to play ahead of Chukwueze cos he has been very wasteful upfront.
Chukwueze ratings in this tournament is very low and has caused us unforgivable missed chances and shabby shots at posts.
Musa with his experience will fill in the gaps as his tenacity speaks for him.

The 2nd lineup is somewhat better cos of the chances we have been missing in the tournament.
Iheanacho now gets to step in behind Osimhen as the SS. He will be the joker as this setup is for tactical attacking football for: re-bounds, spilled catches, zip play with the wingers(were he has excelled greatly with his one-touch gimmicks), coordinated passes in the midfield also.

The midfield doesn't need much on this setup is a one quick transition from the defence to the wingers.
I chose Burno Onyemachi over Sanusi cos of his discipline on the ball.
Bassey moves back to pair Ekong.

Formation is 4-2-3-1.

This formation is an advanced 4-4-2 grin
Jose Peseiro who loves attacking football ball might look into this too.
Al-hassan pairs Iwobi to plays deep this time, while Iheanacho(or Simon cry) move to the wings with Lookman.
This formation is also for midfield dominance.
Moffi pairs Osimhen upfront for a better coordinated attack.
This has been a traditional formation for the SE for a long time nothing much is expected from it.

Same to you Joe.

The numbers are disheartening. How do we have 3 goals from 13 big chances? And one of those goals is even an own goal, so, technically, it's really just 2. 1 from open play and 1 penalty.

It is disgraceful.

Creating is not our problem now, it is converting, which is hilarious considering the pedigree of our forwards. We have two front men that were Top Scorers in Serie A last season, how are we so poor in front of goal?

And Lastly not the least. If Peseiro ever run out of ideas, he should please revert to the 3-4-3 or 5-4-1 he used against Ivory Coast 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

This is our only saving grace. If we manage to get a goal on the 5th minute mark and defend our lives throughout the remaining 85mins of the game no problem. cheesy grin grin
Our people say; A bird in hand worth more than 9 in the bush.
Looking at the lineup, you'll notice I made a little tweaks as I removed Sanusi and replaced him with Bruno Onyemachi. Bruno is very fast on the ball quick to counter, over lap and return when his services are needed. He's also a good crosser of the ball than Sanusi.

On the left wing, I chose Iheancho over Chukwueze as most of you here know he's our weakest link going by this tournament. Don't need to tell you about (most clinical) Iheanacho cos you already know what he's about infront of goal. Anyone coming up the bench for him should be Simon undecided or Osayi smiley
Thanks.
