What does this mean? Do they need additional documents or until they specifically ask?
Good day,

Thank you for your email enquiry and contacting the Migration Section.

In response to your email enquiry below, kindly note that this application is in queue for processing, and will be processed according to the receipt date.

Rest assured that you will be informed as soon as a decision is reached, or, if deemed appropriate, to request additional information.

To help facilitate your application when an officer reviews it, please forward one of the following, depending on your situation:

LMIA/LMIA-exempt work permits: an updated copy of your letter of offer showing that your employer still intends to hire you.
Accompanying spouse of a student: evidence of your spouse’s enrollment at an eligible Designated Learning Institution (DLI), and their most recent transcripts.
Accompanying spouse of a skilled worker: evidence of your spouse’s employment (i.e., letter of offer and paystubs), and a copy of their complete job description.
Post Graduate Work Permit Applicants: updated final transcripts from an eligible DLI, and a copy of your degree (if not previously provided)

Note that continually emailing requesting the status of your application will not result in expedited processing.

Re: Canada Spouse Open Work Permit (sowp)timeline by Rasakiopoewa: 3:22pm On Feb 01
All you need to do is to fill up the employmentsection
and explain that in an SOP. IRCC knows you cannot upload without filling out the mandatory sections.
For the other form that IRCC says you cannot save, I think that form is about family members and giving conscent to one lead family member, it will always be blank when you save and reopen. Just upload it after filling it. They will see it.

Below is their response:
You do not qualify under the IMP as you provided insufficient information to demonstrate that your spouse is a full time student in a qualifying program at a DLI in Canada. Refused under 205. That’s all

What do IRCC actually mean by this statement: insufficient information to demonstrate that your spouse is a full time student in a qualifying program at a DLI in Canada.
Are people just submitting their spouse Admission letters, study permits and visa stamps?

What would they submit aside this if the spouse is still in Nigeria with them?
Re: Canada Spouse Open Work Permit (sowp)timeline by Mysterious33(m): 9:09am On Feb 04
Hi @OkukuOne, thanks for been helpful on this thread!
My program is for 8 months (starting May) and we're in the process of applying for a SOWP.
--Question-- How long are you planning to stay in Canada?
--My Answer-- Temporarily - more than 6 months
Is this correct, or should it be "Permanently"?

Thanks!

OkukuOne:
This question has been replied to 2 - 3 times here by me. Please read through if you have not gotten the response you are requesting for.

Good luck!

If your spouse is still in Nigeria. The truth is that you have few documents to submit because you can’t get study permit until you’re in the country. Most times you won’t get enrollment letter, school ID, summarized courses for the semester.
There’s more advantage if one spouse is in Canada already.

That’s what I am saying, the documents are very few. Can someone that has gotten their visa approved tell us what they submitted?

I think I have explained it to you.
The only documents of the main applicant available to you is the Admission letter, visa stamp and Tuition deposit. Other documents will be available when the student arrives.
Then you gather your own documents and summit.

You are sitting on gun powder, that's the response I got before a shocking refusal after 3 months of Medical and Background check completion. I now understand what people mean by IRCC can refuse your permit at anytime of your application.

Attach your spouse letter of acceptance, official letter of Enrolment confirmation as well as Transcript to date both signed by the school Registrar, class schedule, student ID and any other school registration.

Without the above, you may be denied.

You are lucky I am telling you, I never got this advantage.

Thank you. We already responded with updated documents they mentioned in the email the next day. The medical was updated that same they they sent the email and we are now waiting for a positive decision. I'm certain it will turn out well by God's grace.

How long after their email did they give you the decision? Did you send them the updated documents they requested?

It does not matter if your spouse is in canada or still in nigeria. Boost your account, spouse to pay full tuition
give an explanation why you are just considering travelling together. Indians dont wait, they do immediately and most are successful. Do not use same account as spouse and if you are doing that , increase significantly the amount.
Points to note:
Short SOP outlining reason why u change ur mind
Arrange docs in a systematic way
Proof of good home ties

Goodluck

Re: Canada Spouse Open Work Permit (sowp)timeline by Jeboy(m): 5:27am On Feb 05
Our case was a bit different though.

My spouse got a year course as admission which was revoked after study permit was issued then we appealed until another 2 years course was given later.

I applied before my spouse left so only few basics documents like fees, PPR, Stamp page were submitted.

When she got there, I now submitted more documents like Stiudy/Coop permit, student ID, student Enrolment (not official) to them but the latter admisision documents submitted were different from the initial Acceptance letter admission with different years of completion. I think that is where sparked issues with IRCC.

Instead of IRCC to request for the change in admission they will just give refuse you with insufficient reason.

Now I have reapplied explaining our scenarios.

One way to know your application is going well is to check your tracker, you should see your spouse name on your profile as sponsor with destination, length of sponsorship and relationship stated.

Once you can see this, your application is on course. I didn't see this in my 1st Application but am seeing it now and it's critical part of eligibility process where they allocated the same length of visa of your spouse to you.

Thank you. Initially I used my account with a closing balance of 15m. I used part of the money and now have a closing balance of 14m. After her visa was approved, I used my 14m closing balance and also used my father inlaw’s account with a closing balance of 12m. Total 26m. Is it okay this way?

I am also in the same situation with you. My spouse is enrolled in undergraduate program and has started classes in Canada already.
I have already applied for SOWP around December. Hope this new law about SOWP won’t affect anything.
