u sabi ball

The man no Dey bring in onuachu to score or create anything but to get fouls and to hold up play

Moffi and Nacho aren’t that kinda players

If the team is losing and needs more threat upfront definently he will bring in iheanacho

Some pple here just too like to complain for nothing 🤣🤣
Nothing fit sweet them. I see why you were exasperated during the group stages with those of us who complained about SE. Me I'm not particularly looking for fancy football. I don't just like tepid football. Even if it's nonsense, play it with energy.

Why not ? He was cleared for 90 minutes by the backroom staff do you know better than them ?

Oga must he play 80+ mins all the time? Na common sense thing na.

Effective? Yes. Yet ineffective in his primary role. How to find a balance? Me I can never see black and call it white. No matter the player. Nwakali that I praise today, go to many pages before u will see the opposite.

Mujtahida:

In JPes system the attackers are the first defenders. That's why he likes Osimhen cos Osimhen keeps the opposite defense busy thereby taking the pressure off our own defense

If I be mod or seûn, I swear I am gonna lock this thread troway key. Before the tourney, una expect the team to fail miserably at group stage.

Some of us told una that this team would do better based on the antecedent, but una no gree. Team don reach semi, yet una still dey wail dem no dey play tiki taka?

Seriously? LOL!

You want start 12 men ? undecided
Zellas:
Yusuf is very useful to this team. Apart from marking and keeping the midfield compact, He connects with the strikers easily with simple passes.
I won't mind patnering him with Onyeka while Iwobi is moved further up closer to Osimhen.

That’s the problem, I knew people will come for me if I criticized this but I will always spit facts. Osimhen’s name is written in almost all our goals but he has wasted quite a bunch all the same. He is our top striker. And it’s okay for him to be subbed for a player given the role to score and not just to hold.

Yes Osimhen is not there to just hold but you can't deny the fact that he is not our only scoring outlet.

The number of times our defenders (Zaidu, Bassey, Aina, Bright) have gotten into scoring chances is proof of that.

So scoring outlet is not limited. But you see that pressing that is part of Osimhen's game? Can you boldly say we have anyone who can offer that?

However, VO gassed out today and should have been pulled off much earlier.

He has been a very good and passionate hard worker for the team, all tournament, and I appreciate that, but he's also been a very very poor finisher, for a striker of his calibre. The truth has to be said.

I just hope he scores in the Semi Final because at this rate, I doubt he's even going to make the lineup for the team of the tournament.

It seems like most of our players will make the team of the tournament bar zaidu and Simon.

Our players are proper ballers!!! Ola Aina is amongst the top 5 RB’s in the world atm make I nor lie. Abi e get wetin Trent and Dalot do pass am? Man gives me this Rory delap vibes whenever he wants to do a throw-in. Iwobi is most definitely the heart of the midfield. Some people here should stop acting like paid agents. TBH, I don’t understand the iwobi slander.. I hope musa gets game time before he retires after this afcon.

A lot is happening in Nigeria and truthfully, na cruise and afcon dey keep most people happy lately for naija. Glad these boys are making Nigerians happy.

Kudos to the coach. GOD bless super eagles!! GOD bless Nigeria and GOD bless Nigerians!!!

The tactics Jpes has deployed since our second game in this tournament is tasking and hectic.

Some players have not recovered fully after the game with Cameroon.

Jpes should do better with his substitutions in our next game.

Good luck to the SE and Nigerians.

how una Dey reason self? A coach should rest his most important player in the knock out phase of a competition?

Osimhen tell u say em don tire to start games? Do I know that only osimhen’s presence do distabilize opponents defense line?

Nawaooo
Availability of Awoniyi would have given Osimhen some kinda rest....like 75-85 minutes on the field and Awo in to do the running for 10 to 15 minutes.....Peseiro no rate Onuachu and Moffi, seems Osimhen and Awoniyi na him kind of CF.

The way this team play for 75 minutes was actually scary.

With a fit Boniface, Awoniyi and Ndidi. We will be unstoppable.

Angola only chance from open play came from a mistake from the midfield.

Haba give JP his due credit!

Iwobi and Onyeka are the backbone of this team. The control, the passes, the tackles and the pressing! Wow!

We are building a very scary team, we must not spoil it with impatient and over-expectation.

Lets go Super Eagles!! Lets go Naijaaa!!
in my opinion super eagles is the best team tactics wise in this afcon

I believe Jpes made out time to research more on the ability of our players and found out the best tactics to bring out their best

If u follow Lookman in Atalanta u will notice that in a two man striking tactics he is very potent. The way jpes hv set up his team especially in attack is deceptive. From the beginning you will think lookman is operation as a winger but in the actual sense him and osimhen are deployed as a two man attacking force while Simon is more of crossing and delivering of passes in the final 3rd to the attacking duo

Iwobi plays as a deep lying player maker who is expected to keep the flow of the game as well as to play it simple while Onyeka is the destroyer who runs around to harass the opponent’s midfield as well as serve as a pressing machine

Zaidu’s major responsibility in this team isn’t moving forward but to defend his position. Him going forward is a plus and much isn’t expected from him via crosses while Aina is the one with more freedom to attack because he is more assured and confident on the ball than zaidu

I hv to say that Jpes isn’t as bad as we thought tactically

sometimes things don't go well for big players in a tournament, what will you say about Mo Salah after all the exploits this season for Liverpool? Before he got injured, what was his impact?

That's football for you. Meanwhile, if Nigeria wins Afcon no matter what Oshimen will be remembered as one of our stand-out players for us. His positioning to distract a defender for Lookman's goal was highly commended by the Supersports studio analysts.

He made research based on how they play at their clubs abi? Na scientific research be that. E didn’t utilize that and deploy 3-4-3 in important WC qualifiers. Interesting!

Mod
The fact is Lookman is very comfortable coming inwards. He’s always played like that for us prior to this AFCOn

So because his role is to defend, when he gets opportunities in front of goal where a pass or shot will suffice, his brain should shut down?

We should applaud him for making terrible decisions because he is the defensive wing back?
