The short answer is yes. I believe with the O Level, the child can go for A levels although id the child is too young, they might push back based on age. I heard a story of someone who came in and was being asked to join her year grade until the parents presented her excellent O level result which they could not conter.
Thank you so much.🙏

How did they scale past the passport details section of the application please, because you can't continue with the application once you input an expired date, so how were they able to get around this please?

Please were you able to submit your visa application with the expired passport details? If yes, have you recieved a decision. I am in that quagmire now, and need to renew my visa, but no passport as NHC said they are still yet to produce mine.

More of a company policy as opposed to the gov guidelines.

You are allowed to switch to any category at time (Except visas with restrictions eg student).

Schoolhike:
Does anyone know of there is any gov regulations or policy in switching visa.

Most employer do says they normally sponsor 3 months to the expiration of visa.

all effort to find this information on gov.uk prove futile.

You may not find where it says "you can switch visa category anytime". You can only leverage on the fact that it didn't say you can only switch at certain times as well.

Employers wanting to switch three months to expiration does not mean they think doing otherwise is illegal. I mean why will I give you a visa that'll require you to work legally when you can work legally already.

It's just to keep checking till you see the one that does not mind.

Update!

Application for renewal was submitted with my expired passport (I added my appointment slip as evidence of renewal with a note about the delay in getting appointment dates). Decision was made in about 2 weeks and it was successful.

Hello house,

Please I need a clarification. Whats the policy on maternity leave . My fiancé is a registered mental health nurse(NHS) on COS from Nigeria. She’s pregnant and would have to go on leave. She’s just 6 months into the job. Is she entitled to maternity leave 6 months to 1 year(paid) ?
Nothing was mentioned about that in her contract letter.

If your interest is in a mostly left-leaning, Brexit-hating, and woke-leaning Radio with lots of callers calling in to moan and moan about the UK, the LBC is your go-to station. It’s 97.3 on FM (also available on DAB) and on the Global player app.

If you want some news, some drama, some comedy, some docu-series and general enlightenment, I suggest BBC Radio 4.

If you want a migrant-castigating, migrant-vilifying and hugely right-leaning radio, listen to TalkRadio or GB News Radio (available on DAB and on the App and on your smart speaker).

Those are the ones I listen to anyways.

Thanks bro
I am enjoying it

- First and foremost, get the right terminal, LHR got 5 terminals..........
- Don't rush into the car park, look for the Macdonalds on Bath Rd, park on the side street, stay inside your vehicle, or you might get another ticket.........
- Track flight on Heathrow arrivals website, don't go into terminal until 60 minutes after the flight touches down (or tell your friend to inform you when he/she is headed out through customs.......
- Or pay £5, and pick your friend up at the departure lounge drop off point........

Any travel/tour agency for tourism arrangement in any of schenge countries?
My family (hubby n 3 kids) wishes to travel to any (easy to obtain visa) of the schenege countries (France in mind)

The tour arrangement will not be a bad idea as we don't know anyone in any of the countries
Perhaps spend a weekend and return back to continue with the shifts grin
We don't mind bus ride (na part of the tourism as long as kidnappers, bandits or ungun known men no dey for road grin)
Any recommendation/package will be highly appreciated

The government's policy requires the person to be working for the company 41 weeks before the EDD to be entitled to statutory maternity pay (SMP). SMP is 90% of your average weekly earnings (before tax) for the first 6 weeks and then £172.48 or 90% of your average weekly earnings (whichever is lower) for the next 33 weeks.
However, some generous employers pay more than this. Some employers pay full salary for 6-9 months. She should check the company's maternity policy.

she should check her Trust’s intranet for the policy for maternity leave and pay. Everything will be there. Just read the fine lines . In the NHS, every employee is entitled to compulsory maternity leave for the first 2 weeks and can stay upto 52 weeks on maternity leave.
The determinant of whether you will be paid or not depends on length of service with your employers . These and more are always written in the maternity policy

Immigration Health Surcharges increases with effect from 6 February 2024

The new rates will apply to all applications made on or after 6 February 2024

The ‘normal’ surcharge will increase from £624 per year to £1,035 per year of the visa being applied for. The lower rate surcharge will rise from £470 per year to £776 per year.

No you do not have to be core tech. You can be in the business or commercial side of tech or even marketing
I think the key requirement is that you work in tech and can show evidence of talent and impact in your field.

For example, if you are a tech sales person, you would not need to be a core tech person but have made impact commercially to the growth of tech. In which case you will need to provide evidence of revenue growth and other business related evidence. As a founder, these circled bits may apply to you

I have attached examples of tech and non-tech skills that may be eligible. See if that helps

hello dear friend, they said prove that you are a potential leading talent in the last 5 years. its that clause i am trying to wrap my head around, when they say in the last 5 years, assuming i was applying for the global talent visa in 2024, do they mean i should prove i am a potential talent in 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021 and 2020

or any/and more year

between 2024 and 2020.

Being on the shortage occupation list doesn’t mean you won’t pay IHS. Only means lower application fees.

The only time a cyber person won’t pay IHS is if they are of a sufficiently senior level that their occupation code is sufficiently high that their occupation code is ‘1181: health services and public health managers and directors’ which would bring them under the
Health and Care Visa. Otherwise, it’ll be the
standard skilled worker visa and IHS will be payable, although they can claim refunds in 6 month intervals afterward.

https://www.gov.uk/health-care-worker-visa/your-job

Yes my job occupation code is on the shortage occupation list and yet, no discount of any sort. I coughed out about £12k today just to beat the new IHS fee. I was wrongly informed that all nhs roles are exempt from IHS. The false assumption was my main motivation for applying to the nhs. I sincerely pity those that will pay the new rate. Imagine a family of 5! I feel like I am being milked. Youkay no wan take it easy on immigrants.

And come to think of it, my former company wanted to pay for my IHS n visa fees (excluding my dependents) but I was enticed by the 5 years NHS CoS and wrong information I failed to verify until it was too late. All the same, I’m grateful to God.

This sort of hypocrisy, blatant lies and denial of responsibility is what makes Nigeria to be where it is today. Never mind, I blame myself for even engaging with a Hamas-supporting, human being. He posts a diatribe (on a UK Living thread) about a region of Nigeria. Then he comes back to deny. What manner of shamelesness is that?
