Good evening house, please i need help. My car is honda civic 2008 model. Last year when i engage my gear to either drive or reverse, the car would start shaking and making sound, it was later discover that the fault is a faulty adjuster belt which i change by buying complete belt adjuster but still yet the signs and symptoms continue so my mechanic advise i remove the adjuster belt completely which he did and bought a shorter belt. After this i stop experiencing those noise and the shakes or vibrations but my belt easily worn out and woulf be making squeak noise. So now have decided again to go back to my belt adjuster cos driving without the adjuster is affecting even my battery, today i bought a new adjuster and also the symptoms of the vibration when engage in drive or reverse resurface.
Please house i am looking for a solution if anyone have please give me on how to stop the vibration when engage in drive and reverse, thanks
the adjuster is not the problem but the symptoms. The adjuster is there for a reason to regulate the tension so why would you agree to remove the adjuster.

You need to first determine where the sound and vibration is coming from.

Bullfallo:
Good day guys.

I noticed my gear now make a sound if you press the gas suddenly from stop after a shif.

Car is automatic and Honda Accord.

Let me explain. If you shift to reverse and press the gas too sudden it will make a loud sound like something that uses force to engage. But if you press the gas gently it will not make that sound. Its the same thing with drive if you shift to drive and press the gas too sudden.

But if you go gently for it to first engage it will not make that sound. And you can press it as you like. It’s only does that if you shift it and go too hard but once it engage no more sound.

Outside this gear run fine
update my mechanic said its the gear solenoid sensor. He said its delay sometimes to engage because he drive it. It send at the time you press the gas the gear hasn’t engaged yet so by the time it engaged it will enter with force. So i just change the solenoid and services one other one.

Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by XPaul: 12:54pm On Feb 11
I have done that severally. I have a scanner, I even went to Ladipo to use a bigger machine to clear the error code after changing the switch.

My gear changer (inside the car) gets hot, I don’t know if this is normal.

Please need help and suggestions on honda accord 04 model. Replaced the transmission after the previous one failed and opted for total matic 4 transmission fluid. However after driving for about 1000km, the transmission fluid drops significantly and has to be topped up. Mechanic has checked and replaced seals, problem remains but the transmission remains dry without any sign of leak.
Considering the constant shortage, is it advisable to use a cheaper oando dextron 3 as top-up considering the different formulation or is there a permanent solution to this constant shortage?
You definitely have a leak somewhere.

I once had a blinking D sometime in July 2022 on my acura. My mech said my transmission fluid was due for a change and he brought out the gear switch abi solenoid and cleaned them with carb cleaner. After everything, it stopped. Three days later, the D started blinking again and check transmission warning was coming up on my instrument cluster. I went back to him. He took me to someone who had a big scanner. An error code popped up. The guy cleared the error code. Since that time, my D has not blinked again.last year I went back to the guy to scan for a check engine light which happened to be my 02 sensor. I asked him to scan the transmission and there was no error code there.

What you had was possibly an intermittent fault, or you had dirt partially clogging the system that made it threw the fault code. The fact that you cleared the code and the light disappeared could be a mere coincidence. If the faults were a current issue, it will come back after a short drive or immediately and if it's not the light will go off on it's own without clearing.
Error codes are to direct the technician on what to check. Clearing it does not fix the issue.

One hardly get response from this place. Abeg guys using city 2006 to 2007,how do you cope with your gear issues? Is it that the car has gear issues from factory or is it our maintenance culture that is killing our gearbox? How do you manage your gear issues please including the vibration while trying to move?

That vehicle year bracket uses CVT not your everyday automatic, so the recommended fluid is honda CVT once you pour ATF even if it is original, the gear would packup soon. if yours is misbehaving replace the transmission and always use honda CVT fluid

I don't understand?
You want to reset your ECU?
If that's what you mean, a good scanner should be able to do that.

Can someone tell me why this code is pending?. It uses to throw this code. I have changed the oxygen sensor. And clear the code.

Just checking torgue scanner for the first time and I saw the code pending there. But I have cleared it anyway from torgue and I want to know why?

So I remember when I had a similar problem with my 2001 accord after major engine work. details can be seen here

GAZZUZZ and Adanny01 were so helpful.

It ended up being wrong timing setting of the oil pump. I'm strongly suspecting my current problem is same as that. I'll check the oil pump timing today and see what I'll find.
