Floating the naira without positioning our economy and international trade policies, so naira can compete favorably will make things worse. Naira can't compete with dollars as it is, leaving them for market forces means dollar rate will keep rising perpetually because our dollar demand has not reduced, and nobody is demanding Naira internationally. |

nairalanda1:You sound like you made sense to be honest but that you support tinibu who once claimed there was no subsidy so he could get the pdp out only to come and remove it inspite of all the connections and information he had at his disposal say a lot about you. Infact any youth who believe that any politician, irrespective of party, apc or pdp or lp, has genuine intentions to better your lot is a really big fool or he just started following politics |

Subsidy does not work but you can't just pull rug under the general public as the present administration did and expect things to work out well. I 💯 support subsidy removal but I want it done quarterly, so the economy can adjust to upward trend of increase in prices of goods and services. The government stop subsidy, float Naira at the same time and the result is nothing but catastrophic to every day people. The government is yet to increase minimum wage and they beg the question how do they want people to make it to work?. Too much of good medicine becomes poison. nairalanda1: |

Many people saw this coming before the election, that is why they called him Buhari promax aka buy one problem, get one free. Until Nigeria remove religion and tribalism from election, that is when we will see light. Am sure they are teaching Obi a lesson now, wicked souls parading themselves as citizens of the country, meanwhile they are the real enemies of the country. |

When exchange rate was N800 to 1US Dollar. To get a property of N10million you need $12,500. With current N1500 to 1US Dollar. You now need less than $7,000 to achieve the same property value of N10million. What an amazing opportunity to Nigerians In Diaspora to key into safe and secure Investments back in Nigeria. Buy land and house with good title documents in a safe and secure Estate. |

xandy84:The problem was as early as 2022 debt was eating 90percent of our revenue. That's why tinubu, obi and atiku were all saying subsidy had to go. As for quarterly removal, won't have worked. |

Subsidy must be paid through the backdoor with this landing cost because further increase in fuel price can make Nigeria expode. |

They have started going to the excuse that Obi or Atiku could not have done better. Bastards all around in APC. You stop paying subsidy but the first thing your govt does is secure a 3 billion dollar loan. This government has not achieved a single thing in 9 months of being in power. Not one single thing |

nairalanda1:The annual crude oil theft is greater than subsidy being paid annually gov't should stop crude oil theft. So if govt should stop paying subsidy with N1000/ litre landing cost it means Nigerians will be paying N1,500 or more per litre, how realistic or practicable is this?l |

Those that supported the destruction of the economy by Buhari regime and the continued annihilation of what’s remaining of it by Tinubu’s regime are stylishly shying away from the mess they created. A country’s economy is a very sensitive issue which is related to national security thus, any decision about it must be made carefully and responsibly to avoid creating a shock that will collapse the country. There are sensitive economic decisions you don’t just make and announce anyhow to score political points. |

I remember when the deluded failed and corrupt government supporters where deceiving themselves that if they remove fuel subsidy that price of fuel will crash. You can not support APC and still reason like a normal human being |

nairalanda1:The issue is devaluation. If Naira wasn't devalued there wouldn't be any subsidy. Tinubu made mistake in floating Naira after removal of subsidy which proves his evonomic team are not smart. You first of all float the currency and after it has achieved stable exchange rate then you can remove subsidy. |
