I may be wrong because I was too young, but in 1992, most people's salary was NOT up to 1k naira.

This is not correct.
Perhaps he wanted to write N7000 which amounts to N700 per bag.

N70? No.

It was N500 in 2001 so it can never be N70 in 2014.
Nawa for unah..oo.
He said 32yrs ago.

So 2014 you wrote up there is 32 years ago to you, bah?

Global inflation is real but the type Nigeria is facing is leadership-push inflation. Go to cotonou, a bag of rice 3 or 4 years ago is almost the same today. We used to change 1,000 naira for 10,000 cfa before entering cotonou just a few years back. Today, 10,000 naira is less than 5,500 cfa. How do you explain this?
Leave them, let them continue to blame imaginary inflation.
Instead of blaming bad leadership that has brought our economy to it's knees.

He has really done very well for himself and it’s very unfair and unnecessary for you to come online and denigrate him.
This really shows that you were raised wrong and just an offspring of a broken home.
If you are the only child of your parents,I’m afraid your father needs to go and impregnate another woman before it’s too late for him and for your mother,I could refer her to some good orphanages because mehn, dem no see pikin born.

Today is the day of the Lord. Therefore, I pray and prophesy for Nigeria!
* Nigeria, you are a land flowing with milk and honey...You will not dry up but the wicked and evil human spirits sucking you dry BEGIN to dry up from now in Jesus's name 🙏

*Nigeria, those who want to make you a place of desolation and the burial ground of the citizens shall be desolate themselves 🙏

Nigeria, your glory shall be restored as the Giant of Africa indeed🙏

Nigeria, you have given birth to worthy sons and daughters...who continue to show forth your greatness. This shall not cease🙏

Nigeria, you are a land of destiny. You shall fulfill divine plan and purpose in Jesus name 🙏

Nigeria, your peace and prosperity is restored to the masses in Jesus name 🙏

Nigeria, you are my home - whether I japa or not, there is no place like home. All those who want to make it difficult for we, the people of Nigeria, to live in peace with you shall receive their own wickedness.

Nigeria, you are blessed and no man can curse you. Remain blessed in Jesus name 🙏

Well, not by any chance supporting the current situation of the country, but this comparison no follow at all. If you go backward to let's say 1980, the cost of a bag of cement may even be less than N20. Minimum wage now is 30k, which is being reviewed. What was the average earnings in 1992? Even in the US, where you all take as model, prices of commodities in the nineties are not the same today. Global inflation is the word. As I said, I'm not by any chance supporting the current harsh situation in Nigeria but that comparison is off track.

It follows Bros. If op says in 1992 his dad bought 1 bag of cement at ₦70, how much was minimum wage then or average salary, 2k, 5k? Atleast during my nysc 1996 copper salary was ₦1050. That meant even at ₦100 per bag, in 1996 I could buy 10 bags of cement with copper salary. If minimum wage was 5k, I could buy 50 bags.
Today, minimum wage is 30k, I cement hear is 10500, and can only buy 3 bags if you add ₦1500 to the money!
I remember 1993, Daewoo racer base model was 78k brand new, normal specks was 110k. A brand new Lada Russian car here in Lagos was 55k. That meant with my 2 years copper salary of 24x2=48k + 1k salary from place of primary assignment totaling 48k +24k=72k, I could buy a brand Lada car or a Daewoo base model!
Today assuming coppers earn ₦50k can their 2 years salary of ₦1.2m dream of buying the cheapest brand new car ie that tiny suzuki car used as Lagos taxi which retails for roughly ₦10m? That 10m was when 1 dollar was ₦900 ohh, not now it is ₦1600.

The high cost isn't from the manufacturer but from thrme key distributors and middle men.

Depot hasn't really changed and load time is still 2 weeks per KD.

The KDs are buying and hoarding. The retailers are also not helping matters and hiking prices by passing g on the rising cost of business to the end user.

I think it's fair to know where the real issues are coming g from.

You are wrong it is , to compare ,this is not global but nigeria only , and the worst part is u can't even say the reasons for it ,

For economy to fail it's usually natural disaster, illness, war etc , but nigeria own ,it's typical bad leadership , 100% bad and clueless learder
