I sell inverter and batteries at wholesale price - Livfast tubular battery with 30 months warranty and Lithion tubular battery with 24 months warranty. Call me on 07035042573 for your enquiry.

It's splendid!

I use a 3.5kva 12v kartel inverter and 4 220AH tubular batteries I connected in parallel to make 880AH.

I power virtually every thing in the house including an lg inverter AC for most of the afternoons , an lg inverter fridge/freezer and a bona solar chest freezer.

I've been fully off grid for going to 6 years by May and I don't have any regrets at all.

The installation was done DIY with little touch by my electrician.

They are not a 'mushroom' country oh...

It is standard practice for Nigerians to use these words - 'small', 'tiny', 'mushroom', etc. in describing our neighbours. I don't know when or how it began but recent events will surely put a stop to it.

At the moment we are poor, heavily in debt, broke as hell, and our currency is taking a severe beating. The only thing we have more than our neighbours is the number of very angry, multi-dimensionally poor people.
I actually used the word muchroom to mock the so-called leaders of my country who are still dwelling on past glory of giants of Africa. Benin Republic has left us behind already.

Imagine a country buhari shut our borders against, for years, still standing strong economically. I can't remember the last time they came to Nigeria for financial aid. How cefa overtook naira still amazes me. Our leaders aren't discipline. They've missed it.

Whay do u mean by inverter freezer and inverter ac? I thought u have the main inverter already.
inverter freezer and inverter ac are low energy consumption freezers and ACs manufactured to consume very low power to work. They are energy saving appliances mostly designed to work with solar/inverter power supply so it wont consume much of your solar battery energy.

They are usually costlier than normal freezers and ACs.

Why dont u use the solar to pump water?
marksleek2584:
Solar energy si the way to go. For starters, NO MORE GWNERATOR NOISE!!! THAT TOPS IT ALL FOR ME. You go just de enjoy yourself inside house, no noise, no waking up to top up fuel, to turn off generator, nothing! An inverter fridge keeps your food items fresh, cold water everytime of the time for this dry season...solar fans as well...
Using 4 × 330W panels , powered Evey part of the house...most times I even forget that Nepa brings light...though I don't use the solar to power my pumping machine sha....about the only reason why I still need Nepa😂

Very true.

These tribulations (though entirely of our own making) should teach us a much needed lesson in humility. Unfortunately, we seem to have learnt nothing and forgotten nothing.

Instead of wasting time needlessly fighting South Africans and Kenyans online, we should be putting all our energy, might and soul into taking our country back from her jailors. But we won't.

What is mounting profile?
The aluminum brackets or braces used to mount the solar panels on house rooftops so that breeze or wind won't carry the solar panels away.

Awesome piece!
But u are trying to say one should not use solar to pump water?
What about if i have everything in place. Good batteries, quality inverters and many panels(top notch ones)?
jerobua:
I have read through everyone's response to your question, And I am not going to counter anyone's advise given to you.
I have been using Solar electricity for several years and I am still using it now and I also did some installation back then before I stopped.
There are facts about Solar electricity you need to know before you venture into it.its left for you to make your choice
What I am about to tell now, no solar electricity engineer would tell you
Firstly, you can't replace THE MAIN GRID with Solar electricity, solar is there for back up.
It's better you do a household solar system, probably a 2.0kva,24V Inverter 1000watts solar panel, 2 TUBULAR BATTERIES system to carry resistive loads of TV, DSTV,one or two fans DURING THE DAY WHEN THERE IS SUNLIGHT and when it's evening, use it for LIGHTING OF BULBS ONLY.
Use your remaining money to buy a standard generator that can power your AC, FREEZER and other inductive loads.
Do not buy china made, buy ORIGINAL INDIAN PRODUCT that will last you, get the once that has SERVICE CENTRE In case of repairs of minor faults
Install a battery balancer on your 24V battery system
Make sure you do EARTHING on your solar system to prevent LIGHTNING damage during rainfall
I wish someone told me all these facts when I first ventured into solar electricity, I wasted a lot of money before I finally got it right
Don't waste your money trying to build solar system that will carry PUMPING MACHINE ,AC,FREEZERS, ITS VERY EXPENSIVE TO BUILD NOW. TRUTH BE TOLD it will work after installation but not sustainable, because these appliances draw lots of current from the batteries, even if you buy 10 batteries at once, it's a matter of time, the moment one of the battery develops a fault( thermal fault, shorted cell, open cell) it will start to affect others.
And lastly, during rainfall, solar electricity is not always effective, you will have to rely more on your battery backup, at this time try to reduce your resistive loads.
I hope you find this helpful.....JSolar, jerryighodalo@gmail.com.

Hmm!

That would be difficult because I upgraded over time to the present specification I mentioned.

I don't have any idea on the current prices of the items.

60A 150v epever mppt charge controller 6 years ago was 100k

Kartel inverter 3.5kva, 12v 2 years ago was about 200k ( if I remember correctly)

4 Tubular batteries 220A over a year ago at 145k each

10 Canadian solar 350w monocrystalline solar panels (second hand) at 40k each bought 6 years ago.

Funniest part now is that you can't even get that same quality for double the prices, today

Rainy season has lots of days with low/poor sunlight. When the day is dull or cloudy solar energy will seriously reduce. If it rains, your panels may not supply energy at all.

Water Pumping machine? Iron?

Yes!

Ihp is like 740W Approximately runs for like 1hr 30min to bring my tank to brim( though not totally empty)

Philips pressing iron is 1kw.

Ironing is even better and less draining on the batteries than pump machine. It goes off when hot and starts again. Unlike pumping machine that runs continuously.

Cajal:

How do you see tubular cell compared to dry cell?

I started off with VRLA batteries which I used before I started with solar.

I was charging with public power then and generator occasionally. I guess poor maintenance and undercharging killed them after 1 years plus.

Tubular can tolerate more abuse than VRLA batteries I should guess.

What kills batteries mostly in our environment is undercharging resulting in sulphation.

I use LG inverter ac.

No issues so far even though I don't use it for more than 3-4 hours in a day. [Afternoons mostly]

It has held up good so far for the last 4 years. No issues.

Just leave those people who are doubting, they may have been scammed by installers using fake products...

Those people who don't believe you may also be using power-hungry devices and don't know how to manage their power usage efficiently.

They don't understand, that Iron doesn't consume much after the first 2 to 3 minutes, also Pumping machines are now efficient..

How many hours does your battery last after 6pm ?

PotatoSalad:
Went solar last August.
No downtime in 6 months. It made me develop interest in smart home system. Now my house is fully automated. All DIY by me.
7.5kva inverter
10kwh LifePo4 battery.
6kw solar panels on the roof.

I procrastinated for months before saying eff it and went shopping.
Entire setup cost 5.6m
One of my best investments so far.

Wow, that's interesting. I think 1hp inverter AC should be around 600k, depending on the product?
