Op and others never make the mistake of telling your employer that you are single, tell them you are married with kids, is 60k enough for children's feeding and school fees plus the relocation?

60k is above minimum wage which all state govt are still paying 80% of their workforce. For example my friends work with Anambra State govt, they re in level 8 or 9. They salaries are not up to 60k yet they have wives, children and other dependent relatives they re catering for.

The trick which one of them told is that they will look for house at cheaper area at most 150k for annual house rent, they put their children in govt schools with free tuition or subsidized fees. Their spouses are working too and contribute to house expenses.

Stop comparing yourself with those people that earn minimum wage or little above it. They re graduates like you

Half bread is better than none.

You can take it under the following conditions

- Free accommodation

- Free meal, at least twice a day

- Free transportation

- Free healthcare

- Free weekend, Saturday and Sunday

Etc

Anything short of these
DO NOT TAKE IT!

You forget to add free toto

Anyman earning N60K per month shouldn't marry o!
Don't infect ya unborn kids with poverty!

You're pressing together with this economy cheesy

I spend nothing less than N40k for transport and lunch at work because my company stopped giving us lunch ticket.

I can't even think of driving everyday to work because because that alone is killinggg.

How you people think single guys don't spend as much or even more than married men is surprising.

If you aren't a lavish spender, you can manage it
Again, if you aren't training someone in school or not really carrying all your family's burden on your head, you can survive with it

Just buy foodstuff in bulk, avoid eating outside, cook at home

You're lucky they provided an accomodation for you.

Even in this PH, there are some earning below 30k and surviving with it though it's tough, e.g Teachers

I'm still trying to wrap my head around how a family man is managing N60K with house rent and àll the bills one can think of.

I MANAGE between N40k and N45k just for my transport and lunch at work monthly so, just imagine how much this will go up to when i add other expenses.

Please, what magic do these family men who earn and manage below N100k use. I really need to learn from them😩

I'm at a crossroad towards making a decision of either staying back or moving to PH.

I've jst been transferred, bt the truth is, where I'm currently at, my 60k salary is well manageable.

Though, I dont have problems adapting to most of the cities I've been to, and will also love to move down there. But owning to the present economic situation, is it worth I move ? Is it a trap ?.

Aside accommodation which my company has, Can I take care of myself in PH with my 60k allawee ?

PH based please, I need ur opinions, as I still have option to decline, as such, your views will be of much help at this time.

Yes you can, since you already have accomodation.

The truth be say, nowhere in Nigeria go sweet you to live with 60K. Everywhere is now expensive. Even if you go the most remote village, the price o fuel, Rice, cement etc go still be the same. So what you need now is to try to upgrade yourself so that you fit attract a better salary or get a side hustle.
I can only suggest programming for you sha, learn Cyber security or mobile app development and thank me later. I still hear say cryptocurrency dey make money but I no know much about am. But in a nutshell, nowhere for Nigeria go dey conducive for you to live with that meager salary, not even Ibadan. What do I even know sef aside enlightening my fellow men nationwide with the good news.

Oga if you know say you no meet your wife as a virgin, oga go for DNA test oooooo because boreholes aka non-virgins can't be trusted

I beg to disagree with you. I'm still currently in the state I served (Zamfara), particularly Gusau, the capital city. Even though things are highly expensive, you can comfortably survive with your 30k a month if you don't overspend.

My point? Do not say nowhere in Nigeria can you live with 60k. In fact, if you are still single like me, you can't spend above 40k a month if you know what you are doing and have plans for the future.

Commodities like pepper, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, potatoes, green, lettuce, carrots, etc are very affordable and cheap sef!

I bought tomatoes 100 naira this Sunday morning and was shocked with what I received. I was like, "tomatoes still cheap ooo"!

Garri gan, a mudu is 1500. Still affordable at least for the common man, compared to places like Lagos (where I was born and brought up) Port-harcourt, etc. So, please, do not draw conclusions on things you don't really know or sure about. Cost of living generally in the North, is cheapest compared to others.

Gracias.

Even if you are on Fiver 247, you will make more than 60knaira worth a month. 60k is 40 dollarss a month. That is wildddddddd.

There's good survey data out there.

If you know people that work in banks, ask them, they will tell you.

If you've ever employed labour, you will know.

Read commentary on this very Nairaland and you will realize how low earning power is afflicting Nigerians.

I wrote less than 0.5% earn over 500K, the data is actually less than 0.5% earn over 200K, but I put a wide margin of error so I won't be accused of belittling anyone. In that same Nigeria, I personally know engineers earning $1K per day, as in I've seen the paychecks live.

Good Luck to Nigerians.

This is no longer about city anymore. Anywhere you are in this Nigeria, everything is expensive. You can move to Port Harcourt or stay where you are, it's the same thing.

Some of the items posted with prices on this site are actually not very expensive in my view and I know I've made some comments noting that. Thanks for the info.

Hello OP, if your Company ha provided an accommodation for you, which is paramount, it's no big deal.

However, you also need to put into consideration your transport fare on the course of going and returning from work.

Truthfully, 60k is not too poor to survive with in PH, disregard most of these online "Mr know all".

There are many guys who teach in Private school and they collect 50k, some less than that.

However, the people that are discouraging you not to come as if PH is NY, ask them how much they are earning where ever they are.

Thank you

Op is asking the wrong question...in actual fact which city in Nigeria can any person survive on a N60k monthly salary.

My own monthly transportation in Lagos is almost that amount...
in asaba things are very cost an agent will charge you 400k for a house that you will be paying 350k altogether 750k but the worst part is no work and if you manage to see one it wont pass 20k
You will hardly see a place where they will be paying you 40k and if you manage to see you will work work work work work
