The visitor visa time frame is 2 years but I have seen visitor visa been approved within 6 days. so you can go ahead with that option, or apply for SOWP, things might change before you finish your program so that it will enable him stay.

Hello everyone,

I recently received an offer for an MBA program to commence in the fall and have made a CAD$3000 admission deposit. My husband will be my financial sponsor as he has enough savings to cover my tuition fees as well as my own savings which will more than cover all living costs.

My husband intends to travel with me to Canada during the initial settling period to assist with the relocation process, but return to Nigeria to continue his full time job, and visit Canada periodically for the duration of my studies. He could apply for a visitor visa, however it takes up to a year to process based on testimony from relatives who’ve applied recently.

Would it be advisable for him to apply as a dependent as part of the study permit process even though he is also my sponsor and actually intends to remain in our home country due to his strong ties to his current job?

In my research so far, these seem to be my options
1. My husband applies as a dependent and we state in the study plan / cover letter that he intends to remain home for his full time job and only visit Canada occasionally.
2. Indicate he fully intends to move to Canada? But
my husband and his career in our home country are supposed to act as proof of home ties for the application. However, I fear stating he will move to Canada fully (while being my sponsor) can negatively affect the strength of the home ties in our application.

Would greatly appreciate getting advice on this, thanks everyone.

1. You can either apply together or apply alone, you will use your kids as home ties, and then when you get your approval you can apply for them.
2. Canada process is different you don't need that.

Ok thanks for your help. So if applying for my kids separate, then I will need to build the account for another 4months right?

As soon as I arrived in Canada, Ontario to be precise on a study permit visa, can I change my city to New Brunswick or other cities apart from Ontario and Toronto? And if maybe my school doesn’t have a campus there, is it possible to change my school

Either way, you are to submit the required SOA

I know this is a study visa thread but i decided to drop my question here because I know there are more insightful participants here who can help.

Please I intend to apply for a canada visitor visa and I have some concerns about my statement . My outstanding closing balance is 37 m, opening balance is 113 million, with outflow 189 million, and inflow 113 million.

Since my outflow is more than my inflow will that be a problem bearing in mind I have good closing balance? Will they assume my business is not going well and refuse me based on funds ?

Please help with your opinions

Is there anyone here studying or working in Edmonton Alberta?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by bullstriker: 5:02am On Mar 03
The cash flow is acceptable. Ensure you provide supporting documents to explain the source of the funds.

From a personal experience, it works best if you apply alone. Your husband will later visit as a family based on your invitation. Likely to get the visitors visa in under 60days.

Hello all, please I have a question. I have gotten my study visa though my program is to start in September 2024 so I'm leaving in August.

But now we want to apply for SOWP for my spouse before I leave.

The question is,

1. for this SOWP we want to apply for, how much POF is required?

2. Do we need to show POF for the SOWP alone or are we still going to show POF for me (the student) too even though I've gotten my study visa?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by evansky(m): 11:19am On Mar 03
We are in a similar situation, I was advised to apply with another account other than the first account used as POF because i am the sponsor. I still used the same account use initially for her own but I showed the amount was enough for both of us and also used my father inlaw’s account with amount almost same with mine. I am waiting for decision!!!

Since you are still in Nigeria, it's highly advisable you convince the VO that your funds for the study are still intact then you show separate funds for your spouse SOWP
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by evansky(m): 12:07pm On Mar 03
How do you convince VO that the funds is still intact without presenting updated bank statement?

You already know the answer. The way you convince is by presenting updated bank statement

Good day Guys,
I’m about to start my visa application.
Please, should I upload a six months statement of account with opening balance of 1 million plus or a four months statement of account with opening balance of 9 millions plus

We submitted last year with the normal 10k living expenses but now that the policy of this year is 20.5k CAD, will the new policy be used to calculate her own living expenses? Or they will use the old living expenses as at when we applied?

Logically it ought to be new living expenses.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 1:14pm On Mar 03
If your closing balance is high then you should use the 4 months statement with 9M as the opening balance. Using such a statement could be beneficial for various purposes.

There is nothing wrong with your cash flow, make sure you submit the relevant documents since you will be submitting a corporate account.

Asking for someone

Can anyone tell me why the application is closed? No email has been sent regarding their decision yet

Decision has been made. And If you can't see your visa number and permit number there then it's looks like the application was unsuccessful.

What’s next?

Pls clarify. You mean you didn't drop your passport or you dropped it there?

Well, if it's the former, that's the right thing. And now you wait for decision to be made on your application.

Is the application being handled by agent? The tracker shows they have processed the application, and since the eligibility has been completed and medicals was not requested, we can infer that the application was refused.

Thanks for the info. Application was actually refused in Oct 24 but the agent stated no decision was made and did not notify the applicant.

I had to track the application yesterday when I was informed. I knew it was rejected but just had to confirm from others here.

This should be the reason it was sent back. So you have to wait for the PAL
You are right. It’s been confirmed that’s the reason for withdrawal

I don't see any issue here. The only thing you need to do is add an explanation letter incase you have an lump sum inflows very recently.

Please, how did you go about this. I'm planning to apply for a study permit.

What stage are you on your application?
Have you started filling the forms?

Have you paid tuition deposit, tuition either part or full? Are you self sponsored or sponsored?

Please i have a question. Though my is visiting, I want to know after visa payment, is ot all the family members will go for biometry. The payment was 670 Canada dollars for me, my wife and 4 kids. Please is it all the family will go for biometry or just the principal applicants. All kids are below 16 of age. Thanks
Hi,
If you have kids above 14, they will be accompanying you to get the biometrics done.
You should have received a Biometric Collection letter in your Portal.
