When yoy are watching foreign movies on dstv, you can set the volume to 30,it would be moderate all through the movie.just switch to yoruba movies. Its always noise.volume 30 would magically translate to volume 70.they arealways shouting both the men and women

Yeye woman! We should put our language aside for English?
In the US in a state like Virginia you can use Yoruba language to get driver's license, it is officially recognized.
Carry face like ojuju Calabar.

. Your mother tonque is your cultural identity. If you speak English but you cannot speak your native language ,you have colonial mentality.
It is until when we change our attitude to our mother tonque that our native languages will not be extinct.
In Kenya , Swahili thrives with English. In Nigeria it is opposite. Nigerians are English
crazy.
My submission is that English and native Languages should be promoted together.

Is it our fault that we were colonized by the British and Portuguese? Or did we ask God to colonize us

She was brought to the limelight by Yorùbá movies. I hope Yorùbá movies will stop giving her roles so she won't have to drain and hurt her nerves any longer.

I hope she knows her acting is more draining and hurting.

I wouldn't blame her. It's the responsibility of the parent(in this case her dad) to ensure she's well grounded and love Yoruba language. I pity these genZs that these new generation of parents are not teaching to speak and fall in love with native language

If you spend more than twenty years in any part of Nigeria and can't boast of speaking their language (even if not fluently) then you are either an introvert, a recluse or blatantly anti-social. undecided

Chinese and Russians don't care about English Language that much. Indians and Koreans may want to learn it though.

Don't play bro, you see Jet-Li, Jackie Chan, Donnie Yen, Abramovich, (not to mention that Vlad. Putin speaks and understand English well. While Xi Jiping always struggle with English, go and watch the BRICS summit in South Africa). But it's never the case with Obama, Trump and Biden with other languages. Moreso, on comparison, you will rather see a Chinese/Russian trying to learn the English than otherwise, especially the youths and kids..

Yes, they say that to massage their ego, just same way some of us say trash about the US but won't even think twice, if given the visa...

Tinubu brought a lot of damage to Yoruba tribe and image. Awolowo , Obasanjo etc in all their political career never used Yoruba tribe to do politics because they know how sacred Yoruba culture is to a Yoruba person. If Adunni had come to Nigeria in the generation of her father and seen contributions of of ransome kuti family, gani fawehimi etc contributions to human rights freedom in Nigeria she wouldn’t have said such thing…sadly she saw a generation whose preoccupation is tribalism, division, bitter obsession to igbos…that’s too much negativity for the mind of a lady that grew up in a decent country to grapple with and be proud of. I guess she doesn’t want to fall victim to the backlash about to come from the bitter situation tinubu and co committed under the umbrella of awalokan tribalism and want to dissociate her self early before the doomsday

She's actually of mixed race hence the skin colour and hair texture. Even though she added some finishing touches to make the skin glow and hair shine. grin

That is mentally retarded thing to say. If the people are full of hate, it is all the more reason you learn the language so you can figure them out. Claiming you refuse to learn the language because the people are full of hate all while you remain there with them decade after decade speaks against your intelligence. undecided
