1. All glory to God. After the 1st booking you have the opportunity to reschedule once after which your last resort would be to apply for the emergency appointment .

2. Don't rush , keep using your present reschedule option to check for nearer dates but if you are in a haste or want to keep to a specific timeframe then you have to apply for the emergency Appointment.

3. If the emergency Appointment is denied . You will be stuck and have to wait till the last date you were given before you apply for the Emergency Appointment because reschedule and emergency options would disappear from your portal .

1. Yes you can use the method . Talk to a doctor in the US and let your family in Nigeria find a doctor in Nigeria who will refer her . I don't want to reveal lot of info here because of space . Both Nigeria doctor and US doctor must agreed on same terms .

2. If everything work accordingly between both hospitals , then your must will fall under medical emergency and this must be stated in her DS 160.

I applied in 2022 but I got 2024 march which is next week, now I'm seeing on Google that my ds 160 form expires after one year and mine is more than 2 years, will I not forfeit my payment if I fill another form because my receipt has expired and I also don't want to be turned back for expired ds160 from. Please help me with advice on what to do

I don't think this is much of an issue. If you received a mail from them stating that your appointment has been rescheduled, just show up for the appointment on the new date with the original MRV payment receipt. You can try calling the customer care office to confirm your new appointment date

I’d say wait till you get it but just to be on the safe side, book the next Friday not 8th (it would definitely have come then).

They want to know why you stayed long, be ready to justify your stay.

I gave birth so they asked for receipts of the medicals and carefully went through.

I applied for sponsorship to attend an international workshop in the US and the sponsorship was approved for just the registration which is over a 1000 us dollars and i was sent a letter of invitation. My challenge is the event is april 2024. Can i apply for expedite appointment, will be granted. The conference is important to the advancement in my career as it has to do with Women and HIV. I currently work in a reputable NGO and they are ready to support me witg the neccesary documents. Due to the high visa fee, i am a bit skeptical .

Good morning all.

Is it good to combine more than one good reason during a USA interview?

My primary motivation stems from the critical health condition of my father, currently residing at my sister's residence, where my dad has been in a coma for several weeks. Although he is now in the process of recovery, I am compelled to visit him as we believe that my presence will contribute significantly to his emotional well-being, thereby expediting his recuperation.

Furthermore, I plan to accompany my visit with the necessary documentation, including the hospital medical report from the US hospital and, if possible, an invitation report from my sister.


Also, I have a couple of other programs with evidence; like Birthday party invitations and business conferences, including seeking a good hospital to take care of my wife's leg, who has a knee fracture. All the above are with evidence.

1. Qualification for Visa emergency appointment at the USA embassy falls under 3 categories Viz ;. Student ... Business ..and Medical .

2. Let's say you fall under Business category , you still have to meet certain conditions. And one of the conditions is that your attendance in the conference must be very very relevant to the conference organizers .

3. The relevance of the conference to you does not matter , but the relevant of your attendance matters . For example , Are you one of the speakers in the conference ? Will they continue the conference if you did not get the visa ? Are they going to lose certain amount of financial gains if you did not attend ? Etc .

4. If you want to meet the above requirements , let the conference organizers state it in your invitation letter and use the letter to apply for your emergency Appointment.

Myself and my husband have a 2 years visa which would expire 20th of March 2024 thi i our secind renewal. We were looking for date for my daughter ho doesnot ve any Isues Visa hence d last minutes decision for myself and my husband to go. because due to covid year, we were unable to use our second US issued visa so it expired. So we thinking on going to D US nd spending even if its few days and get back after the 20th of March . Bear in mind our visa expires 20th if March. So our worry Is would there be any negative impact on our Vis renewal if we return back to Nigeria few days after our visa expires . We intend spending just 10days. I would appreciate feedbacks. I have been trying to request an emergency appointment with my new MRV receipt number, but whenever I enter my tentative travel date of 4/15/24, it generates an error message "Tentative Travel Date: Invalid Date," and when I click to submit the emergency request, it shows another error message, "Emergency Request cannot be submitted at this time; please wait."

Please, what could be the reason? I need help! Someone should explain to me what is wrong. Thanks.

If you are for Dropbox and you don’t reside in Lagos, then consider using Abuja cos it’s faster. Here’s my timeline:

submitted ds-160 29/01/24
Request to schedule interview waiver approved in hours.
Scheduled IW on 30/01/24 for 06/02/24
Dropped off passport in DHL 06/02/24
Application received on CEAC status 07/02/24
Updated on 12/02/24 to Refused
Date to schedule 221g was already loaded on portal but I waited to get passport first
Passport picked from DHL outside Abuja 15/02/24
Scheduled 221g on 15/02/24 for 23/02/24 (because they take 221g’s only on Friday) so picked the next friday
221g interview on 23/02/24 (Approved)
Passport back in my town 28/02/24.
