Once the event is intriguing enough to grab your attention, it will stick. There are things I will talk about, and my mom will be like, 'But you are not supposed to remember that.'

Well, I remember because of the emotional significance attached to it.

I hope you have a forgiven spirit sha grin grin grin grin grin grin

Because e no go funny.

That incident was even between her and a younger aunty. I even mentioned what the aunty was holding in her hand.

Hahahaaha. I know why you asked, but I do. The problem is when people do not give me a proper apology. If there is any trace of gaslighting or mansplaining in it, I get angrier. He used to do it unconsciously until he realised it only made things worse. grin

Nah the tiny details will make her believe you.

Like when I talked to Mom about a certain burial, she didn't believe until I told her that there was too much stew on the rice the kids were served because the rice burn. She shock.

Ehena, before someone starts saying, 'On this minute last year, you did this,' or 'This day, and on this hour that year, you also did this.'

How do you prefer your apology? Verbally or through action?

Please note that both is not available in the options..

True @ the tiny details! cheesy

It is not a straightforward answer. The best form of apology is a behavioural change. But we need a verbal talk (apology) first. I don't want someone assuming the other party is nagging or insecure. When their concerns are valid and most times you know what you are doing!

True, people often say sorry without truly meaning it. That's why when someone apologizes to me, I usually ask, "Will it happen again?" The answer is usually no, as expected, but I still ask because that will be my judge should it happen again.

Were they supposed to say yes? cheesy
Except infidelity or physical/verbal abuse, it would most likely happen again and again. As far as they make conscious effort to do better, I just know they are humans and would have some weak days. Make person no give me high bp.

You adapted really early. Just wow.

Lots of things I remember from that early age. There was a time my dad was posted to a new station ,my mum took me along to go visit him and started crying because it was really bushy and scaring place ,my mom cried till we got there, till almost morning ,that my dad was suffering ,how was he coping?etc

One day ,she was talking about the event and said it was my elder sister she took there ,I said it was me ,started explaining how the place was ,how she was crying and the Okada we took there( Okadaman even told her "madam, your husband never die ,why you dey cry like this" )She was shocked!

I remember seeing my Aunt and her then boyfriend doing their thing .lol

That's why I'm always careful around kids. They know ,see and assimilate things .

Wow so touching. Your mum really loved your dad but on most of these remembrance stories it seems crying seems to be the bottom line for remembering what happened a long time ago.just my observation.

I remember when my mum changed my school where I attended kindergarten to go start Nursery 1 ( though she said I was supposed to be in nursery 2 but because I didn't answer questions she asked them to put me in nursery 1) in another school. I just saw the boy that his mom convinced my mum to come that school. I waved at him, he didn't wave back and I just didn't care from there on. I remember when my book finishes and I will be asked to sleep. I will mock other students for writing just because I'm very sad inside for not writing to the point of crying sometimes. I remember also like a week from when I started school I was forgotten in school not until around 8 that they came to pick me(my mum close from business late and forgot to inform people at home to pick me up) I was with a girl too I can't remember if we were in the same class. And we left her there. The people that came to pick me were peeping, I don't know why, it was the girl that saw them from where we were playing with sand withno care in the world( the world could come to an end then and we wouldn't care innocent children) that the girl saw them from where they were peeping and announced their arrival to me. I didn't see the girl again after that day, we didn't even know each other's name as we didn't ask.

The way memories form is so Interesting.

We had a graduation party in my Nursery school shortly before I graduated to primary 1.

I can still recall the aroma of the Jollof rice.

guobe:
Nursery school is the bedrock of education for a child and at three years of age ,I started my nursery schooling.
I was dressed up by my mum and dad with my stockings and Bata shoe all gingered up for my first day in school .
My parents drove me to school as the school was not too far from our house then.
My mum and my dad took me to my class and I saw alot of kids in the class crying and wailing with the female teacher trying to console them.
In my mind I was like why are all these kids crying.
Then suddenly my parents dropped me in the class after seeing the teacher and left without any trace.
I was seated on my desk and now joined other kids to start crying and wailing..
I came to the realisation that earlier on,those kids I met in the class were crying because their parents left them in the class.
Till this day that memory is still stuck on me and when I narrate it to people, they find it hard to believe that at 3 years I could remember what happened on my first day at nursery school.
How many people still remembered what happened on their first day in nursery school?
