cybergeek: Hey 🤠 1. Although, fundings is good to have but it doesn't add a lot of value to your visa success .. Only PhD applicant MUST get full or some fundings . 2. For Bsc and Msc , if your parents, sponsors, families or any organisation etc can 100% guarantee your educational support via Financial Evidence and you can speak for yourself during the interview , then your F1 visa is guaranteed. 3. Accept the offer of Georgia Tech because that is your heart desire . Accept what will give you joy but be ready to send a financial evidence (bank statement ) to your host-University before they finally issue your Form I -20. You just have to find a sponsor otherwise your application won't proceed . ** If however you got a full funding in any of the other schools , yes you can opt for it. Best Wishes 🙏 |

Phraser: Hey 🤠 1. Your best tie is if you are married and your wife n kids live in Nigeria. 2. Your 2nd best tie is your employer (company) who is your sponsor . 3. Mind you. Your employer has to be a strong and reputable organisation. ** You cannot compare " Wakilu Block Industries Nig Ltd ..to Toyota Nigeria or Jumia . Best Wishes 🙏 |

cybergeek: I am in a similar situation. I've got an offer from a school for MS but with only $8K tuition scholarship (leaving roughly under $40K deficit for the rest of tuition + boarding expenses + health/books). I have tried contacting some profs and the department head for more funding via GRA position or added scholarships but I haven't gotten a positive response so far. You can try this too: message faculty members of your course and introduce yourself as a newly admitted student interested in RA position in their labs. IMO, if the deficit is too much and you don't have a sponsor, it makes little sense to worry yourself about Georgia Tech. Just don't make any decision until at least the last day possible (my school gave me the 10th of April). If before then, any other school gives you a better offer then I would advise you go with the new school. If by the GeorgiaTech offer acceptance deadline day and you still haven't gotten any admission offer from your other options, then you have to make the tricky decision: accept Georgia Tech and rally around for a sponsor or use MPower loan and pursue your visa chances. OR reject and keep hustling for a better opportunity. But I am positive that you will get something good in the coming weeks. Good luck to your Fall 2024 U.S dreams, Adeolu! 1 Like 1 Share |

cybergeek: I just looked GeorgiaTech up. It's a highly ranked public school and one of the best engineering colleges. I don't know your total COA but I will advise you try to get funding from your department if they didn't give you any during admission. The school also has tangible endowment funds so might be lucky to get funding from your program if you try hard. Wish you best of luck, bro! 2 Likes |

Hello everyone, to follow up my question about low gpa for masters in USA. I reached out to the graduate admission director for ncsu mba program; he hold me to go ahead with Wes evaluation and have it mailed to the grad school. Now my issue is that the intake is for June. Will it be possible for it to fall through?? Do I start looking for visa dates? Am so confused Thanks |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by USAfall2024: 8:03pm On Mar 17 |
Ayosharon4321: Why don’t you work towards Spring or Fall 2025 instead of Summer/Fall 2024 to give you enough time to process the WES evaluation (trust me it could take anything from 3-8 weeks depending on your Alma Mater transcript processing policy)? You might also have more options (grad schools and MBA programs) to apply to once you get your WES. You also need other materials like SoP, LoRs, TOEFL/GRE/GMAT (if you’re interested in taking tests to boost your profile and admission/scholarship chances). These things take time so I doubt you will have enough time to meet up with your Summer deadline. But if you’re really in a hurry to JAPA this Fall then try your luck and hasten things up. Just my 2 cents. Best of luck, dear🤗. 2 Likes |

Please can someone help out? I just noticed I made some errors in the DS-160 I filled which I have already submitted, and I’ve entered the application ID in my ustravel where I’m looking for F-1 visa interview date? To update my new DS-160 with correct information, what do I need to do? Should I just go ahead and fill another DS-160 or what? |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by 4gunners(m): 10:07pm On Mar 17 |
Localboy48:You should fill another DS-160, and update application ID on F1-Visa. 1 Like |

Localboy48:You can edit an already filled DS160, however, it would generate a new code but all your data will auto populate then you can go ahead and change the info you need. To do this, go to the website, enter the state you want to do your interview, enter the secret code and click on retrieve application. Once you’ve done this first step, it would take you to where you’ll input your current DS160 code, enter the code and click continue, it would show you where you’ll enter the first 5 letters of your last name, year of birth and answer to your secret question. Click continue when you’re done. A pop up will open and you’ll select, create new application. Continue with all you’re seeing on your screen to fill your application. It’s an easy quick step. Once you’re done, go back to your visa appointment page and click on update application information (something along that line) then you you’ll see your preview DS160 code, erase and type the new one and save. When you’re done, go to your page and generate a new appointment confirmation so it can carry the new DS160 code. |

Is your CGPA upto 3.0/5 ? I might have an affordable option for you to study MBA, MSc in Accountancy or MSc computer science. Tuition is $17k, 12/18 months. Ayosharon4321: |

Good evening great people, Please I need your kind input in this issue as the matter is more than me. Someone called me and needed my advise and I do not have an idea on how to start advising the person. So she said that her school emailed her about a meeting earlier today . I think the email came last week or so. So when she joined the meeting today, she said they told her that GRE wrote to them(the school) and stated that they are declining the GRE result given to her, reason being that her image Abi her picture is not consistent. So at this point , I became confused , I asked if she has any issue with GRE prior to now but she opened up and told me that she paid one agent in Nigeria to assist her write the GRE and her score was so high . The GRE result is authentic but was not written by her. Also this GRE was done to see if she can get scholarship but she didn’t get the scholarship from the school as at the time she enrolled , probably because the fund has finished or something. This GRE was written for her in 2021 and she entered America last year fall. This spring is still her 2nd semester. While she was still explaining this to me, a mail notification came to her phone and she checked the mail. The mail stated that the school has told her that she is no longer needed in program. Please any advise for her. She acknowledged that she didn’t do well and has requested I give her my sincere advise . Should she start looking for another school ? Will she affect her record/sevis? Does anyone know anyone that had encountered similar issue in the past ? |

USAfall2024: While Georgia Tech is very prestigious, they admit students without funding. Even PhD students are admitted and told that their admission is contingent on them securing a PI that will advise them. (This happened to a friend who was admitted to their Mech ENGR PhD program) 1 Like |

EnigmaticDude: If it smells like shit, then it’s probably shit. If you weren’t an agent, which you are, you will drop the name of the school and go your merry way instead of asking people to contact you. 1 Like |

Sisib15: She has several options. She can look into transferring into another program in the same school that doesn't require a GRE score or she could look for admission and transfer to another school/program that will accept her without a GRE score. Her low academic performance may have been what prompted the school to double-check her GRE score. I don't think it will affect her SEVIS records if she's able to transfer to another program within the same school or to another school in time. Even if she eventually falls out of status, she has 5 months to reinstate back into status (that is obtain admission and enroll in the new school). |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by Nozino: 1:10am On Mar 19 |
Sisib15: Hopefully they cancel her sevis record and ask her to exit the US. I posted something similar but I was attacked here. Everyone and their gateman Is scoring 320+ in GRE and it’s all runs. ETS is aware, the schools are aware, even the embassy is aware. FYI. If the school cancels her sevis record, she won’t be able to transfer to another school. She will have 60days to exit the US before she starts accruing illegal stay. 1 Like |

Sisib15: Saw an update about a UK man that reported her wife's fake IELTS because the wife reported him for physical abuse, both now sent out of the UK and back to Nigeria. I was doubting the story because from my own experience "is it even possible to run IELTS?" Now from this story and the responses that have followed so far, I understand that many things are going on, even if someone like me do not know how they are being done. I fear we Nigerians. 3 Likes |

Sisib15: Hey 🤠 *** Follow the advice of @bigfrancis21 which i am also going to expound further . 1. The worst her present school could do is to terminate her Form I 20 , while she still have 5-months of grace (SEVIS rules) before USCIS terminates her SEVIS. 2. Even , a terminated SEVIS can be transfered if your new school (DSO) agree to accept the terminated records and assist in the student's reinstatement. Your new school only needs to talk to the former SEVIS Coordinator. 3. She should quickly go to her present DSO and talk about possible transfer and other helps . She should be humble, feel remorse and cry for help because all International Student Visa Powers lies on DSOs (both present and new). 4. If all her efforts failed in transfering and appealing to her present DSO, there is till hope . Her only option is to take admission in another University or college and exit (this is a must) USA and re-enter to get her SEVIS activated. 5. She should talk to her family and friends for possible Mexico connection . F1 student visa holders can live in mexico temporarily if she doesn't want to come back to Nigeria. 6. She would then returned back to the United States on a new SEVIS ID. She will use her present F1 visa together with her new USC I-20 to enter the U.S.– even if the SEVIS numbers (on her present f1-visa) do not match. But she must still pay the SEVIS fee to activate the new USC I-20. Best Wishes 🙏 1 Like |
