UHLmoving:I rather continue to be a tenant in Lagos than get a land in it let alone building in Lagos. Even penny made will be sent to the east for its development. It's saddening that Igbos are yet to learn even though this didn't start today... I can't build outside South south and south East. 2 Likes |

UHLmoving: I support this 100%. When I wanted to start the process for building my oxygen plant 2 years ago some of my associates tried to convince me to build in Ogun or Lagos. Thanks God I decided otherwise and built in Owerri 2 Likes 1 Share |

TechCapon: None of those is true. How come we get the same documents for individual houses? I don't work in alauda but I can tell you the real people behind these problems . They are silent whenever evil befalls their client and even pacify some that that how government works. If you have you papers complete and genuine, no government official I respect no government will demolish your house and in cases where it is necessary to do same , they will request for your title documents and compensate you accordingly. Too many crooks and quacks are the causes of all these stuffs. All they understand is being money and I will settle this and that . Some even patronize 3rds part to get documents for you. When architects, engineer and surveyors are left out of site and jobs given to I have experience in building structures or my padi works in alausa. Don't mind those professionals they love money too much that is the result. Before is mention them , pls ask yourself this question? If you pay a professional to do a job for you and he collects his dues , what excuse will he be telling you after your building is been demolished. It is part of his job it ensure he does due diligent and request you to pay appropriate government levels and fees with government computer generated receipts even if they will still scrape your head. Let them get out the original documents. So when you give a land surveyor money to do you the survey, it is incumbent on him to inquire for you what conditions such land is presently, is it a government acquired land or air marked for future road expansion etc. (it's called chatting of the land) hold him responsible if he fails to declare the status of the land. Get an architect to do you a proper design with proper set backs and ask him to take it for approval himself and pay all the necessary dues. Hold him responsible for any infraction to building permit misdocumentation. 3 Likes |

Segun91: This is not necessarily true boss. Speaking from experience, land administration in Lagos is an absolute mess. The process is unnecessarily long (can literally take years) and inefficient. And that's without getting to the issue of corruption which is quite bad. Honestly, the entire process needs serious reforms. |
