I had to delete this part of my post cause I as much as possible shun arguments that bothers on tribalism and where one was born. But it's hard not to at the very least assume this was what Finidi was doing. Save for Dessers, it looked like he only played home born players except where it was almost impossible that a FB had to play. Not saying that's what happened, but if most certainly looks like it.
you are reading too much meaning into it, it’s not that deep.

Nantes have released a statement saying that Moses Simon has suffered from a fractured fibula. He will be ruled out for several months which means he will be out for the rest of the season.

Get well soon Moses Simon 💚

See since Afcon 2020, the way they've been going for courses and all, you'll think they wantu compete with Sarina for a job. The men are sitting and expecting to be picked cos of Enyimba, Tanzania and u17 and Kano Pillars. If na by NPFL levels sef, there are more seasoned managers doing tactical exploits in that league right now and I'll take them over these comfy legends,if that's the metric to get the job.

It pisses me off. You'll look at Nsien and Egbo cv and compare and you'll be wondering why these ones feel so entitled. That's why i said many of them are best as Assistants. At least the nostalgia on them will be helpful with these players that were kids or not yet born when they were all balling those years. For now, na dem sabi.

Asin eh..
Very annoying

Why is that once a coach loses a match in Nigeria, we start singing the sack him chorus?

Why do we like magic so much? We hate being patient to achieve results. Granted international football doesn't give much time for second guesses but I feel we should give Finidi the benefit of the doubt. My opinion is not about Finidi. Even if it is Amunike or a foreign coach, I'd still call for patience, support and encouragement.
Oga, opportunity comes but once. If you waste the opportunity given to you, you give way for others to try. NFF received more than 40 applicants for the job. Others wished they had this Double-head opportunity.
World Cup Qualifiers is in a few months time. We don't have the luxury of time to waste.

I guess he was unbalanced... besides his power comes mostly from the right foot but the ball was on his left so he needed to push it alil further to get balance.

He wasn't getting any offer. Last job was Zanaco, got fired. Played 8 consecutive matches without a win.

Yeah because his CV is very poor
You cannot say philosophy is king, and it doesn't translate into some form of results
Even JPes used us to enhance his CV
Our guys just have to shake body and hustle..
They are too comfy with mediocrity

While this has some truth to it, I however think yesterday's case is a little different. It's not that we lost it's how we lost. A coach can lose but would have at the same time inspired some confidence. That didn't happen yesterday especially for someone who quite frankly wasn't at the top of the list for most Nigerians before the Ghana game.

Thank you oh

Shoot the ball instead of pushing it forward

it’s very harsh to judge Finidi, no assistants, he didn’t call the players then what he’s trying to do will take time to instill but the problem is we don’t have that time to be patient, we have a WCQ in the horizon. Finidi can continue to be assistant for now.

I'd judge Finidi for:

1. Not starting a striker.
2. Waited too late to make substitutions and made just only 2 in a friendly game.

I do want him to continue because we can't know for sure how the incoming coach will perform if he's going to be any better since he'd be unfamiliar with the players.

This current NFF, I like there style even when the entire country is against you there will stick with you take peseiro for instance even when he lost his first four matches there stick with him, we even lost four zero to Portugal the NFF did not deem it fit to sack him at the end he took us to the afcon final.

We fans just need to have that believe this current NFF has for peseiro and i will employ them to give finidi the job for continuting sake he did well against Ghana and the defensive error and not taking our chances cause us the game against mali in all it was a good international break.

For me alone, I would like Finidi to stay. But fans generally will panic with the Mali loss. Only thing I fault Finidi is not exploiting his bench. He didn’t select the boys after all.

Not this current one, but Pinnick led Nff, JPez wey them wansack before, otherwise he go collect less wages, If Jpez had not agreed to that wages cut, he would had gone long Ago

take the situation of Waldrum for example, they had practically sacked him, of not for Aisha who stood up strongly for him, We won't had had a pleasant worldcup

No matter how knowledgeable the coach we bring is, he must learn on the job. There's this flow zone we don't allow our coaches enter. And you can only enter that place when you have made mistakes and learned from it. Just that the mistake may be costly but me I don't mind. The only thing is that we never reap the positive lessons of mistakes because we are quick to sack coaches.

Passing the ball around without purpose is not Tiki Taka; that's just cluelessness. Look at the Barcelona teams of 2008-2015 and examine how they played their Tiki Taka; you can't compare it with the nonsense that the current Barcelona and Spanish National team play. There's a clear difference between them.

I get irritated when people refer to the nonsense that's currently being played, as Tiki Taka; it's not Tiki Taka. Passing the ball around without purpose is just borderline cluelessness, and it showcases an inability to be creative.

The Tiki Taka system is very complex, and it requires a certain skill-set from the players. If the right players aren't available, the system will fail.
Whether purposeful or not, tiki taka is the epitome of machine football. Pass pass pass from morning till night. I even hate the name. Sounds like the sound of a mechanical contraption.

All this blame game of pointing fingers to certain players is not cool at all. We were poor as a team yesterday. Just about every single player was poor. Maybe u can exempt Iheanacho and Nwabali but there was not much else to be excited about

....coz we lost to Mali, we shouldn't give Finidi a shot? LOL!

I guess its Finidi that made both Simon and Dessers missed one on one?!

We should read and look beyond the loss, cos Lessons are there to learn and see. Awaziem, Omeruo need replacement, major reasons they weren't trusted by JPes at AFCON were so glaring last Night.

We blamed JPes for playing half fit Aina in the final, but last 2 friendlies have vindicated him that as far as Osayi is the one on the Bench, Aina must play.

Collins' time is over. He made us miss Sanusi whether we admit it or not. In short, fringe players at the back must be replaced - ALL!

Iwobi played well, Iheanacho linked well. Ndidi and Onyedika didn't perform beyond average. Simon wasn't it until he was subbed. Dessers justified why he didn't make AFCON List.

Dele-Bashiru, Tella and co will get their chances too.

When you guys analyze football you expressly think you are some high and mighty that could just walk into the field and handed victory.

Firstly , the Malians have a good team.

Secondly, the SE have no creative midfielder. Who is that player that could hold the ball and soak up the pressure from the Malians.
Ejuke, Nwakali, Ifeanyi Mathew, are some of those players.

Lol.

If you don't pass the ball, then how do you intend to move it from your half of the pitch, to the opponent's goal? Dribble your way through? Long range shots from your half? grin
That's not possible. You have to pass the ball; your teammates need to have a feel of the ball.

Tiki Taka epitomizes the true intentions for the creation of the beautiful game called football( a TEAM SPORT created to entertain fans---emphasis on "team sport" ).

Football is not a one man show; it's not for selfish and aimless dribblers, who only care about showboating and taking all the glory. If I want that kind of entertainment, then I could easily watch those events that are specifically made for ball jugglers.

Football is about scoring your opponents and preventing your opponents from scoring you, and what better way to prevent your opponents from scoring than keeping the ball away from them? 🤷🏽‍♂️. Football is not Table Tennis or Lawn Tennis. It's not give me, I give you 😆.

Tiki Taka is the only football philosophy that emphasizes on playing as a team. When I watch football, that's the kind of entertainment I want. Unfortunately, there're are very few players right now who have the skill-set and intelligence that the likes of Dani Alves, Jordi Alba, Carlos Puyol, Sergio Busquets, Xavi Hernandez, Iniesta, David Villa and of course the master himself, Lionel Messi had back in the day.

Tiki Taka is life, but when it's done the right way 😄.
