Melon soup is not Igbo soup.
We called it Efere Ikon in my place and we have been cooking this soup right from time immemorial.

We don't know. They call it something else in their language. Until they started moving to the SW and started calling it the Yoruba name as well..

Egunsi is eaten all over the south west, although often cooked differently. Egunsi is Obatala's favourite food and Obatala originated from Ife.

In my place we call it..."Afia Efere(white soup" and "Efere Afang."
My favorites...especially that white soup prepared with goat meat. Abasiiii

Egusi is a Yoruba or ijebu word. My grandmother prepare it alot. It's a native ijebu soup, also obe Ata too.
