Because we don't just pick any day spuriously as the day for celebration. Why are you not talking about the greater confusion that December 25 and January 7 pose ?
This must have struck a nerve....
What confusion does Christmas cause..it is 25th every December, is that confusing for your dull brain?

I knew this was their plan when they hurriedly announced the public Holiday. Even Google calendar said eld is Wednesday, but they declared Tuesday. My wife said they'd gonna extend it that they knew what they were doing.

So much for the MuMu ticket. I am expecting them to declare four day for ileya salah. Nonsense
I was surprised too because I know Google calender is 99.9% accurate, anyways the have achieved their aim....
Salary earners go happy pass.

Dem still dey search for the moon wey never lost, let the moon no show up let's see if the Holiday go enter next week.
Re: Thursday Approved As Additional Public Holiday by GreenCovering: 11:05am On Apr 09
Saudi Arabia astronomers worked well into the night of 29th of Ramadan and only announced when they were sure that the new crescent was not sighted. If it did, then 9th of April, that is, today would have been Eid Fitr irrespective of whether it is marked 10th on a calendar or not.

Moon isn't causing any confusion in Islam.
It's your ignorance that is causing you confusion.
Whatever you don't know just ask as anyone that asks always get the right way.

Your ignorance is second to none. What you dont know you ask.
Don't just open your mouth and begin to spread nonsense.
The month of Ramadan is 29 or 30. This varies from year to year just like the February.
If the moon is sighted on the 29 of Ramadan then the next day will be sallah and if the moon isn't sighted on the 29 then it simply means the Ramadan is 30 and the next day will be sallah.
Islam is a deen and so you can't be doing it anyhow just like other religions.

The day and date of your fitr for 2024 has already been known in Gregorian calendar, check all my previous posts here on this thread, I attached the screenshot of this year and next year fitr which has already been fixed. If you need 2040 eid fitr day and date I'll send it to you, so stop giving yourself unnecessary headache and confusion

Where is the confusion?

Nigerians especially Govt workers, too like Public holidays.
Shows how unproductive we are.

Highly unproductive. Why on earth would a nation declare 3 days of holiday celebration? It is only in Nigeria such things happened.

We are an unserious nation reason why we are backward. So sad.

If you know how Nigeria workers are always overused you will know sey they deserved a month holiday.
The length of time for work in Nigeria does not at all tally with the payment. Workers are just being underpaid but overused in Nigeria.
I will not want to hear bigots saying them give Muslims 3days holiday, we Christians nko. You know be Christians in first place but church goers.
Re: Thursday Approved As Additional Public Holiday by sayusuf(m): 1:36pm On Apr 09
What is wrong with three days public holiday. China go on prolong holiday up to two weeks straight, but they are more productive than us.
Re: Thursday Approved As Additional Public Holiday by Dontblink: 1:56pm On Apr 09
Which one is additional day again? What is the meaming of this nonsense? Additional day to do what exactly when people should get back to work?

When Christians celebrated, did they give additional day of holiday? You guys have started seeing the effect of muslim-muslim ticket. Nonsense.

Where is the confusion?

How many days government declared for your 2024 fitr? Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday when it is clearly stated in Calendar that your fitr is Wednesday and Thursday. Is that not confusion in the religion of Muhammad?

So no specific number of days to fast ramadan right? Is the moon lost, is that not a confusion on the path of allah, his slaves and the moon?
You are ignorance, according to geography knowledge, it takes moon 29days 12hrs to rotate round the earth. Likewise it takes earth 365days 6hrs to rotate round the sun. So we have 366days every 4years. So is for moon, it can be 29 or 30, go and check all Lunar calendars this year Ramadan is 30, but as a Muslim will always double sure that is why we go out for sight of the moon.
Re: Thursday Approved As Additional Public Holiday by GreenCovering: 3:04pm On Apr 09
People who have taken calendar as their god cannot understand the unique connection that muslims have with the one true God, the ultimate disposer of the affairs of the universe. The calendar may calculate and arrive at a particular date but the command of God Almighty is to do a spot check at the end of the month for the actual appearance of the moon. If God so wishes, he can offset the month by one day or extend it by one day, hence the 29th or 30th. No calendar can dictate to God how He disposes of His own affairs. Therefore this can only be an issue for godless and frustrated people.
