How did china achieve this unprecedented growth, asked a journalist.

The growth is all connected to road-building. To grow a country, one must first connect every nook and cranny of the nation.

Cool! We also need to focus on old roads that are in dire need of rehabilitation. Those ones are also as important, if not more important than the new ones.
You don't want tinubu to win a new road construction challenge like obi without a new school constructed?
Rehabilitation of old roads are far better than new ones.

FG should also build functional seaports in the Niger delta. With all the wealth the oil producing communities have contributed to the nation there is still very little the government has given back to them. No good schools, no drinking water, roads or good sources of income.
The rest for die for them na... The allocation is for what ?

The rest are benefitting their own wealth. Its like a group of 6 children five eats their own then they all start to also eat the food of the 6th child.

What's wrong with the Onne seaport. You refused to use it. You spoke about poor schools, healthcare etc, what's the essence of the 13% derivation that's paid to your Governors? What happened to NDDC, that has become a pot for corruption.
Aside, this road is for the Oil producing State, What's wrong with this?

state governments cannot fund such projects due to the cost in relation to their allocation. In addition it is the role of FG to build seaports and roads linking states. GEJ is the closest Nigeria has had to a non tribalistic president. The Niger deltan's deserve and need more.

Ni carry drugs through the channel to China, because na death sentence for China ooooo. Let me quickly remind you that this Coastal road was conceived by past governments, but they had no political will to do it, just as the 2nd Niger Bridge otherwise named Mumumodu Buhari Bridge which Buhari and Fashola foolishly built for ungrateful people after so many decades of promises and failures

I seriously don't understand the SS. With the amount they get in FG allocation and taxes from oil companies, these states should be the most developed and leading states in the country.

The state governors are the most unaccountable leaders in this country.

Existing inter state highways across the country in very bad shape causing fatal accidents and incidences of robbery but we should be focused on a coastal road that will not be finished in the next 20 years awarded to cronies without competitive bidding for N15T.
Continue!

Common sense used to be attributed to Igbos on this forum now it has been changed to Obidients, how many fatal accidents use to make FP on Nairaland every week due to bad roads, because E never reach you doesn't mean that all is well, we can start with a national interstate roads emergency worth N15T and after we achieve that we focus on a long-term coastal road, how's that difficult?

Like you put all other activities in your own life on hold because you want to type rubbish on nairaland.com?

For your information, everyone is not like you.Thay he is undertaking a big project has not stopped other activities. One only generates attention than the other.

Has PETER OBI substandard borehole jamboree in the North stopped him from still attending uninvited events? NO!

Rivers Port, Onne Port, Delta Port, Calabar Port. Those are the Seaorts in the Niger Delta.

Jonathan was President for 6 years and his own community didn't even have drinking water. No be juju be that?

What are the State Governments in Delta and Bayelsa doing? Those two are notoriously stunted in development.

Why are you replying someone that is so DUMP not know that ONNE PORT in RIVERS state is one of busiest port in the country.

As if what they want is for the FG to bomb lagos and start a new lagos in Niger delta or Anambra!...I just don't understand all this conspiracy theory surrounding eastern port!

This is a region that worshipped PDP for 20yrs and still worshipping her.If PDP could not address the alleged Eastern port marginalization (which is a fluke anyway)for good 16yrs then they are the most stupid set of people in whole world!

State governors earn enough and has enough capacity to attract investors to build ports, but their lazy criminal heads rather think of how to steal public funds.

Calculate how much state government loot you will know that they can build 4 ports within 4 years if they want. Building ports is not rocket science.

States can't fund seaport abi? Who funded the Lekki Deep Seaport?

Jonathan was President and he refused to work on the East West road. Amaechi was begging him publicly, but Jonathan no gree. His MIL actually had an accident and died before he started work on it.

The problem of the Niger Delta are it's own leaders. Go and look at the NDDC as an example.

The onne port is an inland port with all its limitations. Check the map of ports in west Africa, you will notice how the frequency of ports stops at Lagos. The NDDC and state government do not have the capacity to carry out some kind of projects due to the difference in cost and allocation. In addition it is the responsibility of the FG to build interstate roads and seaports. The Niger delta states have benefitted less than 1% of the wealth they have given the nation. Their underdevelopment may be a strategy to keep the place uninhabited due to pollution by the oil companies. The issue of destroying the natural environment is another issue. They have found oil in the north but they are not pumping the oil out, you know why? Because they know how it can damage their environment. So much is given by the Oil producing companies and little is given back. The oil producing communities are just foolish.

There are 4 Ports in Niger Delta. Rivers Port, Onne Port, Delta Port, Calabar Port. Those are the Seaorts in the Niger Delta.

Lagos is not responsible for your misfortune, neither is the SS responsible. Face your ancestors who deprived you of access to the sea.

What are your brain--dead leaders waiting for?

Or you applied that you want to build a seaport and the FG denied you?

It's so functional to the extent that some people will prefer to use Lagos seaport to import their goods and transport it to the east than using the onne port.

The PH and warri have been under repair for how long?
