SpecialAdviser: Na who dem catch na him be thief. You dat guy comment is full of gnoramus. If you want check if the property is valid from the govt, the system we operate will frustrate you first. You pay extra and more for information that aught to be readily available. Out govt don't care, my advice to any body that wants to buy land now is they should avoid lagos. Many place dey wey beta pass lagos. 2 Likes |

Rebuke: My comment might sound so hard but is important I.let people know my view on this matter. One day I visited a man to purchase a car . This man built his house under high tension ...I asked him oga who gave you this land ? Don't blame anybody if govt decides to demolish your house . What he said next shocked me. He said b4 govt comes I would have recovered my.money ...he rented a good number of the rooms to people . In this case Is clear some of them are aware of the law but choose to break it ..Sentiment aside buying a house or land is not like getting a drug at the counter. You need a sound lawyer to do due diligence .if you fail to do all this, blame yourself cos your education is waste . 6 Likes 1 Share |

MrHyde: Well that is the problem, they dont have approvals. The government has been saying anyone with approval should come forward, have you seen anyone come forward? That is why I read comments from easterners saying "buying house at your own risk" and i laugh and ask, what risk exactly, it is stupidity to pull out N100m -N300m to buy a house without asking for proper paperwork. Even small fishpond i built around Epe, I went through the process to make sure the land is not sitting on a future roundabout or a future T junction. People want acquire a property of N300m but they dont want to pay a company 250k to run the survey, they want to give one alhaji 50k. Then alhaji will tell them dont worry, my son even works there. The land is clean. I blame the buyer. No one will pay for anothers stupidity 1 Like |

Stevenson20:You are a fool and a big fool. We were all on our own before they joined us together to be Nigerians. This is why anyone can travel anywhere and work anywhere. Ppl we never gather in Lagos if it wasn't once a capital. They only came their for biz. You and your fathers have no right to send them away. We are all Nigerians. Your ppl are also all over Abuja which is also a capital today If your fools are tired of that then let's break the country. You all benefit from the south more. Your oils and gas are gotten from the East and South. Gas you enjoy in Lagos is from Imo. If you guys continue with this nonsense, you are all saying we should go our separate ways. If you are ready for that, be man enough and declare it. I swear you guys will suffer more cos gas is the future and oil is gone When we are ready, we will stop everything you get from the East and South and let's see who will need each other more. Your leaders, Tinubu and others can never try it cos they know they benefit more from the South. Their oil Wells are all their If you don't have sense go and borrow. This is an exercise in futility that will only hurt you guys more. If you try it, you are saying we should all go our separate ways. If you guys are man enough try it and let's see who will get hurt more Fools who know nothing. You guys think governance is acting like agberos and motor park touts. Senseless fools |

Bliztzer: you are obviously one of the slow witted trolls who frequenst NL blaming the govt fro everything someone has defrauded you in a transaction, you get a lawyer and you involve police on this very nairaland there are multiple cases of dubious car dealers who sell cars with incomplete custom papers who have gotten into trouble. i am actually more than a little disappointed in the woman if she cannot name the person who sold them the property. that is what i would expect at this time, as a warning to the guy we are coming after you - and a warning to anyone else about to buy from the developer unless of course this is really about engagement and internet clout. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

Stevenson20:hear your warped reasoning? Anyways if you are not ready to follow due process and conduct your due diligence before you aquire property not just in Lagos but in sane societies, then you can take whatever investment you think you own to your lawless region…y’all are quick to compare Nigerian with decent societies of the world but are not ready to do what’s right…anyways that’s your problem, Lagos is even too overcrowded with people who are better off staying back home so you won’t be missed 1 Like |

immortalcrown: who allowed the very obvious building of such illegal structures worth millions in the heart of lagos should be the question. How does a developer build an estate in lagos right under the government nose and at the backyard without them knowing? This is not the 1st, 2nd or 10th illegally built multimillion naira property, even in ikoyi under same incompetent/corrupt government skyscrapers were built illegally and nothing done until it collapsed and killed people. This is lagos government incompetence which they have not taken responsibility for. |

GloriousGbola: Not surprising to read your comment riddled with double standards. The govt could easily mark a house for demolition, but couldn't easily tag a warning sign to the house. It is usually the case in this nigeria to blame the victim, rather than catching the criminal. Even the police are not helpful. Where were the govt before the house was completed, and became ready for sale? Though the woman has a share in the blame, but does not simply eliminate the irresponsibility of govt officials tasked with power to ensure guildeline are strickly followed. One another hand, is nt it within residual power of the state to provide housing and protection? Why have they failed to fish out the fraudster who swindled this woman? You can applaud mediocrity for whether reasons best known in nigerian geographical entity. I want you to know one thing, it is not entirely the woman's fault. The way it all looks, the criminal will walk away free while the victim might never recover. |
