guysbewise:Bullshit. I only responded as to not discourage newbies. I also heard the same thing then that it was saturated. I was working in Nigeria left Nigeria learnt another language and still working in the same field which is said to be saturated 😂😂. If you are in Nigeria and you have the opportunity to learn to code better take it very seriously especially if someone is supporting you with electricity and internet. Take it like your life depends on it. You can continue being negative it’s none of my business. You don’t know me and I don’t know you. |

[quote author=tensazangetsu20 post=119520194]This same thread was posted in 2019 albeit by a different poster. It almost discouraged me when I started coding in 2020 but I already made up my mind and just went in. Recently the poster of one of those threads is still saying saturation and next year will make it 4 years he has been |

guysbewise:It's only saturated for junior and entry roles. Anyone who has 3 yrs experience+ will see jobs openings on linkedin in western countries |

guysbewise:This shit is crazy. The only place you'll get fewer applications is those Scandinavian countries and those ones sef depends on whether it's remote or onsite. Simple entry level jobs sef don get over 100 applicants, the rest will be thrown into the bin. Cc tensazangetsu20 |

guysbewise:Lol. No be small matter. I get the same results from here. But I think because linkedin has easy to apply features, everyone is trying their luck because there's no harm in trying or self-rejecting. Tensazangetsu20 strategy of "Blue Ocean Strategy" won't be bad. Their are other tech roles like c++/embedded roles that are less competitive because of hardware knowledge or the Salesforce he is currently doing which requires certifications. That's how I got my current role. Not the type of mullah that boy is hitting in Chile but it's a good start lol |

This will be my final comment on this thread. If you’re a Nigerian living in Nigeria in 2025 and are fortunate enough to have a supportive family or someone who can help you with essentials like internet access and fuel for a generator while you learn to code, take it as seriously as if your life depends on it—because it does. Opportunities like this might never come again, not even if you move abroad. Nigeria isn’t improving. When I started learning to code, ₦75,000 could buy a decent laptop. That same laptop now costs around ₦300,000. Electricity wasn’t as expensive, fuel was less than ₦200 per liter, and internet access was more affordable. If you think moving abroad will make learning easier, think again. Once you leave Nigeria, the reality of bills hits hard unless you have a wealthy family to support you. Many Nigerians abroad end up stuck in exhausting, menial jobs for years just to survive. So if you have the chance to learn coding in Nigeria, grab it with everything you’ve got. It could be the one opportunity that changes your life forever. |

tensazangetsu20:I endorse this message. The best time to learn to code is now. Most people are not interested anymore, if you can learn, you'd have too much jobs at your disposal because companies are still recruiting everyday. Trust me. ![]() |

Salesfoce and C++ are not left out see the number of applicants on LinkedIn. I will say that if anyone is going into software development and are not well connected or want to start their own software development business or ready to switch to another field later if they can't find a software development job, then it's better they just learn it for the fun of it if thy are really interested in software development. Learning to code doesn't mean you have to become a web or mobile developer that's where people are getting it wrong, it gives you a headstart in transitioning to tech, because in the end you would need that coding knowledge as you go further. If you feel software development is getting saturated by all means try other tech fields. I recommend cybersecurity because it's one of the few fields that's difficult to break into and even for AI to penetrate. |

guysbewise:This screenshot says over 100 people clicked "Apply", it means by just clicking the Apply button, It increases the count. It does not mean over 100 people actually applied for the job. Besides, only around 10% of every 100 applicants are actually qualified for LinkedIn jobs. |
