I don't have problems if the Bride's father told me all these before marriage, it's his terms and conditions in marrying his beloved daughter, so it's left for me to sign it (of which I wouldn't even dare to request for a pen not to talk of signing it). But if it's during or after the marriage he is saying this one, I go tell am say, E don pass, you don already hand am over to me, and as the Head and authority in this new family, it's based on what I want her to do for us and not want you're expecting her to do for us. Besides, mutual roles is about expectations and not just emotional feelings, those feelings gradually dwindle (but may not eventually die out) but the expectations would always be required of you. But this is an open secret. Many Fathers cook in their homes and keep schtum about it. He is just letting the groom into the secret so that he will not be surprised. There are 2 types of marriages: Traditional and Modern. In a modern marriage, Financial obligations are shared 50/50 or a ratio in proportion to salary. Chores are shared equally too. That way everyone gets some leisure time because I m a human being like you. I want to press my phone ,drink wine and watch trash TV. Just marry your type. Cooking to me is not a gender thing because as a young Nigerian man, I cook most of my food and take care of my surroundings, but if as a wife and mother you can't cook and manage the home, there is a problem Sensible wives these days cook meal in large proportion and store in there freezer, however if you work and earn and refuse to contribute to the upkeep of the home, no matter how little, then you don't have any business being in that marriage.
