I agree with you. It is better for an 18 - 20 year old girl from a poor family to raise funds from sex work to learn a trade or skill rather than to enter a university. The exception is if she studies a math course and has the brains to obtain at least one scholarship while in school. This girl and many others in her category are more likely to deepen into the sex work lifestyle after graduation because:

- they studied meaningless courses
- they have to raise more funds to learn the trade they should have learnt when they were much younger.

Tertiary education is not running away. For someone from a poor family, skills and businesses to sustain oneself for the next ten years are more important than attending a no-name school to study a non-math course.

Well, if one's child opts for such a lifestyle, what are you going to do?

This is why parents should have a life outside of just taking care of children, and most importantly, the reason they should have fewer children. It sounds odd to many Nigerians, but children at a stage in life have their own lives to live.
