Being a lawyer doesn't automatically make a woman the Supreme Court of your household. She is still subject to the same laws as everyone else. You only become easy to bully when you don't know your rights or have no backbone.

And this idea that marrying a lawyer means she will automatically divorce you, take your property and collect your children is just lazy thinking. Any woman, regardless of her profession, can hire a lawyer if she decides to “cook” you. A wicked woman doesn't need a law degree to make your life miserable.

Some footballers who ended up losing substantial wealth after divorce were not married to lawyers. Their wives simply understood the law, used the legal system to their advantage, and in some cases, took advantage of men who had failed to protect their interests.

So if your fear of marrying a lawyer is based on the assumption that she will automatically destroy you in a divorce, perhaps the problem isn't her law degree. Perhaps you should spend more time learning your rights than being frightened by her profession.

One thing you don't seem to understand is that a woman doesn't have to be a lawyer before she can engage you in debates and arguments at home. Talking is part of human nature, and women can be quite talkative.


My primary criteria for choosing a wife are FAITHFULNESS and LOYALTY. I ruled out the other women in those professions simply because of the challenges associated with their jobs.
I chose to marry the lawyer because I admire the profession. In fact, becoming a lawyer was one of my childhood career aspirations. However, as I grew older I developed a stronger interest in engineering because I wanted to follow in my father's footsteps.



Here are the reasons I didn't choose the others:

1. Doctor: She might not always be available to nurture our children because of the demanding nature of the medical profession. I want a woman who won't be physically distant from me and our children most of the time.

2. Nurse: My reasons are similar to those I gave for doctors. As for the stereotype that nurses are promiscuous, I don't subscribe to it. Even a market woman can be promiscuous. It all depends on the choices and values of the individual.

3. Police officer/soldier: These professions are almost in same category as the ones I mentioned above. I wouldn't want to marry a woman whose job requires her to spend long periods away from home or frequently relocate from one place to another. I prefer a woman who would close from work and come back home.

Back in school, I had a godson whose mother was a police officer and father was in the military. I witnessed the challenges and emotional neglect the boy experienced, and I wouldn't want my children to go through something similar.


4. Beauty queen or whoever she is:
I have no comment about her. To me she's simply a packaged, jobless liability.

The truth is everyone has their taste and what works for them, it was wrong for me to generalize actually..

But sometimes, stereotypes are real…. And my experience with ladies who debate and always like to prove right over every issue has not been good… in fact, I’ve seen other people’s experiences with such kind of ladies…( not necessarily lawyers ) and they don’t end well..

Hope you are aware that men that beg to marry women are also self made men but they still beg women because that's tradition. you can’t a normal family with a nurse. There will be many nights and days you will need your wife and she won’t be there. There are times you want to go out as a family but your wife is on duty. Many more reasons I won’t advise anyone to marry a nurse or doctor.

I have lived around women all my life. They are my relatives, neighbours, schoolmates, colleagues and so on, so I understand their talkative nature and know how to handle it. When it comes to debates, I know how to deal with them. A woman cannot convince me that she is right when it is obvious that she is wrong. I will stand my ground without hesitation.
I use a carrot-and-stick approach when dealing with women. If you constantly tolerate a woman's excesses, she may eventually begin to see them as normal behaviour. Before you know it, she starts pushing boundaries.
I love my wife wholeheartedly, but she knows her boundaries and doesn't overstep them.


Back in school when we were dating, she did something that upset me, and I was scolding her for it. Later that night, she told me something funny her friend, who was with her at the time, had said about me. The girl told her that she could never marry a man like me because I was too strict.
I told my girlfriend, who is now my wife, that I couldn't marry a woman like her either because I would probably send her back to her father's house sooner or later. The girl was naturally controlling, and I had noticed that trait in her. She knew I wasn't the kind of man she could easily control or manipulate.


Men should love and cherish their wives, but they should also maintain healthy boundaries in a marriage. Don't surrender yourself or allow one person to have complete control over you. Once you make that mistake, you can create serious problems for yourself and your marriage.

yes they do but there will be important events you will need to attend as a family and will fall on days she is on duty.
You cannot go on vacation with your wife and spend 3 weeks because she needs to be at work.
