Just planning: 1) Move back to villa from Abuja, that is the best option I have now. 2) Raise some loan (money matters!!!) 3) Start small Have always thought of starting big and it has remained a dream but with what I have read here, am gonna start from my uncle's uncompleted building. I will be back to villa by end of this week. Of course I will major in broilers because I know that it is the money spinner or doubler if you like. I have these concepts I call INTEGRATED FARMING AND MARKETING or INTEGRATED FM. I will be discussing them on this thread and see reactions to help me or anyone who buys into it to fine tune the ideas. Hello guys, my INTEGRATED FM are not written down anywhere but they are ideas I have thought through and developed with my naija local intelligence since the first time I developed interest in poultry farming(broiler) and as well observed others who have ventured into it. Having experienced failure twice in other areas of life and being penniless at this stage in life, I shall rise from the dust and journey along this line to stability and prosperity. Goodnight guys. |

Gidigidi3: Just planning: I've been waiting to see someone on this thread make a case for 'the Broiler,' and of course not the season cropping, of which I'm expecting my DOC. And good confession there. |

fnk: Just checking if this works, This is a picture of my poultry construction. Nice one fnk, is the location of your poultry farm out of residential area and do you have to get planning permission specially saying you can construct a poultry. The reason i am asking this is i recently acquired a land outside the town to build a poultry on but recently a lot of people have been buying land around me and building residential houses which may cause problem later on. My poultry isnt on a large scale yet hoping for like 1000 birds but land are just so scare that even if i buy a land in the sea or evil forest in no time people will start buying and building residential houses there and there are no land specifically allocated for farm building. Any thought or advise fromthe house? |

jamp: They can't sell to you unless you register as a distributor. and. you must be ready to take up large quantity monthly, and with pre-payment. I don't think you can meet their conditions. so its better you search out a key distributor in your locality. good luck to you. |

jites: If you are in the city you may have problems in years to come as a result of development and many other factors. You may not have much problem if your biz location is in the rural areas, so start on a small scale for now, maybe in the near future you may reconsider your biz location. |

@ somafol I like d way u poured out ur heart. So many graduates are stil lookin for jobs dt hardly exist while time waits for no man. You must have a passion for it and look for a poultry farmer who u can learn from or understudy. Ppl run frm poultry because they r fragile also feed and drugs are expensive. 1 Like |

Gozychuks: Guys I have emailed it to you. You can breakdown the numbers and multiple by the number of birds you want to raise. Remember there is always the economic escale from raising larger quantity. Also, I ran this research couple years ago, so some numbers has changed, So you need to adjust accordingly. Good luck guys. |

jites: You are right, we have a population explosion in this country and mostly here in Lagos. But that said, along Lekki ajah road right after the 2nd toll gate, to your right is a poultry right next to Olorunisola estate. (Olorunisola is Eliganza) this guy is a powerful person in Lagos and I have always wondered why the owner poultry is still in business. Any ways, we make some contact with the local government in the area and them baales etc. My take is that I want to be successful in this venture that when the pressure to relocate comes in the next 3 to 5 years, i will be able to move knowing that I have gotten my money'e worth of the land were I am now. Another thing, If you are the big boy in town, most times you call the shots. So I think the focus should be how do you take this opportunity to the level that no any other business makes sense. |

I've already done all the underground work to kick start this profitable venture without fear but with passion. My only hindrance now is for my relatives to raise the needed funds for me. It's so painful to rely on my relatives at this stage as the money in question is what i had before but i invested it in ICAN which i'm no longer interested in because i no longer reason like an employee but an employer. As for some graduates who are still endlessly looking for job, they've only chosen to learn the sweet lesson the hard way after they can count some reasonable number of years being wasted in their lives. 1 Like |

Re: Starting A Poultry Farm (a Blog) by fnk: 1:13am On Sep 15, 2013 |
sammyhaven: FINALLY EXPOSED..................FINANCING MADE EASY Guys, no one will give you any money until they see what you got going on. in 2011 when I finished my reach and documented my result, A friend who was a well known TV broadcaster in those day, If I mention his name most of you here on the thread will know him. he gave me a contact to a bank to loans money, So I reworked my project to N3 million took my file and visited the contact at the bank, after waisting my time, the guy told us that they can not load to start ups, that I should go and start my farm and after 6 month to one year i should come back and if I need money for expansion that they might be able to load me the money. So all this advertisement to load people money is a fraud. I thank God that I am now in a position to go into this business without borrowing money from anyone, and even if I need to expand, i will go at my own paste and not have some bank come and eat up all the profit with interest, charges, and fees. So guys, sown ads like this, because you will only end up losing you N1999 as advertised above. If you have a small space and ever with a very small budget as small as N50k, you can start with about 20 birds, raise them to 2.5kg and sell them to neighbors at premium price and turn around and reinvest that money and increase the number of birds, and before you know it, you can be making profit that could be broken down to making about N40, to N50k/month which could be the salary of some graduates in this economy. |
