Is there a local source for 2X4 studs of this quality in Nigeria? Also what about steel studs?

Also since the wood walls are not load bearing, why so much spacing in between and also why use 2X6 for the roof? I saw the stacked headers, is that just to make up the space or there is really a need for their heft?

I can not say for certain why the wood frames were spaced like that as those pictures were taken from the internet.That being said this is the standard spacing we use when our carpenter frames 1 to 1 the container wall.Here are other picture of container framing :

The insulation is extremely important because without it ,your container house will become an oven in Nigeria. Remember that Nigeria has a very hot climate and the container is pure steel.The container will absorb heat from the sun and cook what is inside it hence the need for insulation foam which keeps the heat and the cold from getting in side the container. The insulation foam also protects the inside from moisture buildup. Plasterboards exist in Nigeria,the Plasterboard supplier we wanted to work with is actually a nairalander. Please search on Google ,you will see a few Nigerian companies that use plasterboard to demarcate banking halls and offices.

I agree that insulation is important in Nigeria.

But like a poster said on another thread, "na so we dey do am for naija, e be normal". Even if it's a car with one headlight, maddening pressing of the horn, driving facing oncomming traffic, etc. We have a long way to go.

Just last month in Ibadan there was a claim that a fish turned into human or had human parts. Almost the whole city was in an uproar. My 5 year old kid would have easily identified the Octopus/Squid that they had in 3 seconds.

They are actually Clay Blocks.. I have seen them on some houses being built in Ogun area.. How cheaper, I wounld'nt know.
But I guess given that those our great-great-grand-fathers built with clay lasts very long , it may be a good alternatives.

I think the sizes demarcation will have to factor in areas where you won't have the beams that will carry the deck or roof pass through, because I don't see a 150mm beam resting on a 100mm or 75mm thick wall.

Beams should not rest on blockwall no matter the sizes, it should rest on columns

I am actually very interested in container housing as a hobby. I'm trying to build a 40 ft studio like unit with full amenities as a DIY project. I'm particularly interested in external cladding as that seems to be very expensive in Nigeria. I would like sound advice on insulation and where to get the necessary materials in Nigeria.

I have looked into clay bricks method and tried to incorporate it into a design for a country villa, but it's wasnt practical cos it was hard to find workers with the expertise. I was going to design the exterior with conventional cement bricks and design the interior with mud bricks. After asking around for worker in the line of good old method, I was told that nobody near by can do it and it will actually cost me more to have it done. It's unfortunate cos my dad used this composition method in our family house in Magodo Lagos years back

Yes you can achieve cooler spaces with insulated container compared to brick rooms. While your hollow blocks will conduct heat making the inner walls hot on a sunny day, it is not so for the insulated container. Note that the common method of insulation involves the placement of polystyrene board before plywood.
However only good ventilation practices will reduce the need for or dependence on artificial ventilation (AC). You will still need to use AC since Oyo is in the Tropics.
