Interesting. Amodu plays bumpy style of football and is very suitable for African soccer. He also understands the trend very well and would recall good and experienced players. I am so delighted about this because what Nigeria needs now is experience and ball-winners. For instance, Uche brothers, Obafemi Martins, Taye Taiwo and so forth. In other words, Congo and South Africa are indeed in trouble. Nigeria will definitely scale through. In God We Trust:-)

Keshi! Sacked!!

Do you mind explaining how to sack a person you never employed or contracted?

Keshi is out of contract for crying out loud and is even still being owed. So exactly how did they sack him?
ACCORDING TO WHAT I READ HE WAS SACK.angry

Amodu is not as useless as Keshi. He is far more useless than Keshi. Nigeria is finished. The onky thing that may work in the interim is that IK and the youngster may be invited and they will play their hearts out just to villify Keshi. Thereafter nothing more will happen. How are the mighty fallen

Gbam!! Nothing more to add.

Meanwhile, former Green Eagles player Adokie
Amaiesimaka, on Thursday said that the
dismissal of Keshi-led technical crew will not
change anything in the Super Eagles.
“We have had 14 coaches since France 1998,
does it mean that we do not have qualified
coaches that can transform the team?
“Sacking Keshi and his crew does not change a
thing; how do we expect Keshi to perform magic
overnight, our problem did not start today.
“At the senior national level we should have elite
players from the local league, but since Clement
Westerhof, we have stopped producing players
discovered from our league.
“The crop of players we produce these days
shows the level of decline of our
football,” Amaiesimaka said.
[/size]

Nigerians aren't that smart.
We are more gullible than insects.
A learned football administrator knows what some of us knew.
Keshi is not the problem. But a system that stiffles our local league, our coaches and many times our players.

Stephen Keshi
A name that will go down in Nigeria's sport history as 'Unforgettable'.
If truly you have reached your tactical peak and you have nothing better to offer, it was all the way good for Nigerian football in the last two years;
Nations Cup Trophy, World Cup Qualifiers...yet these Oliver Twists wanted more.
If NFF goons were to determine the fate of our dear President GEJ, he would have been sacked 365 times and FIFA would have in turn reinstated him 365 times.
You came you saw you conquered.
Keshi remember, professionals are insatiable. And most unfortunately you coached the national team of the most impatient citizens on earth.
You are simply the best this country has ever produced among its own.
Of course there is money to share when clueless and colluding foreign coaches come calling. That is our identity, sadly.
I celebrate you BIG BOSS

You actually want to believe this set of debtor-come employer? NFF sponsors coaches they struggled to pay salaries?

the man Shaibu Amodu:

He managed Nigeria from April 2001 to February 2002.
He was appointed Head Coach of the Nigerian national side in April 2008,[2] and was sacked on 6 February 2010.[3] Despite reaching third place with the national side in the 2010 African Cup of Nations, he was demoted to serve as the coach of the Nigerian B-team (Home-Based Eagles) and Lars Lagerbäck was installed in his place before the 2010 World Cup.

Amodu also led Nigeria to the AFCON bronze medal at Mali 2002 and Angola 2010. Other accomplishments include Nigerian FA Cup titles with BCC Lions of Gboko and El Kanemi Warriors on multiple occasions. He has also managed Shooting Stars, BCC Lions, Orlando Pirates and Sharks F.C.

Amodu was appointed technical director of Nigeria's national teams in May 2013.[6] In November he was named Technical Director of Bendel Insurance F.C., which includes being in charge of the club's youth development

It is this same amodu that was sacked by the NFF about two times: in 2002 and 2010 for letting the eagles to collect bronze in the 2 editions of the nations cup despite qualifying for the world cup.

Let's not kid ourselves, our coaches bar maybe Oliseh and Siasia are not ready and the main reason is the sports ministry and the NFF do nothing to help this coaches.

When last did they organise clinics for them? When last were they sent on refresher courses abroad or placements at other clubs so they can learn one or two things?

How many of them have UEFA band A licenses? Let's not be sentimental about our coaches, they are simply not good enough.

Good a thing people like Di Matteo and David Moyes are currently available. They are good enough for us and can lead us to glory if we finally will allow coaches stay on the job for say 4-6 years and let them build their own teams without interference.

People will argue why the choice of Di Matteo and David Moyes. To that I say their records speak for them.

Di Matteo did a good job with West Brom with players that are a little better or simply at par with our players. He went to Chelsea a team that puts the coaches under undue pressure and took a declining team to the pinnacle of European football ( yes, he won playing football that I can't be proud of and as much as I hate Chelsea, I must say it, they achieved what my darling Arsenal hasn't been able to achieve in over 25 years of trying and it is kudos to Di Matteo).

David Moyes managed Everton above their level for many years and even qualified for the champions league. The players he had to use to achieve what he achieved with Everton are at par to what will be available for him with the eagles.

Forget what happened to him at United he had an impossible job. Many United fans will not agree but I think Moyes was deliberately used so to relieve the pressure on whoever takes over. Moyes will have Sir Alex as his yard stick ( failure for sure) and now that Moyes is sacked, Van Gaal is practically under no pressure as Sir Alex isn't his yard stick but instead Moyes.

Dennis Bergkamp is also available so also is Steve Clarke, Steve Bruce can also be convinced.

All these coaches play our type of football and they have a record of getting the best out of a tad average players.

Laurent Blanc is also available.
Gordon igesund and Kwesi appiah are also available

you call someone that came out publicly to say 'sorry' arrogant? What do you want from him?
i say he's arrogant because he never accept the fault was from him he's always blaming his players e.g osaze during the world cup. it's because of his pride that he keeps coming to say other countries want him. can't he be humble enough and stop bragging?

Back to square zero. I am never a fan of hiring and firing of coaches every here and then. In 2011 October precisely, i kicked against the sacking of Samson Siasia but Nigerians insisted that he must go, cursing and calling him all manners of names; but i stood by him until Keshi came on board to change the Fortune of the team.
Today, the same people calling Siasia names are the people insulting the Big Boss. Some people even go as far as cursing his family!.....
I am happy today that I still stood by Keshi despite all the cricism. I am his fan and I will continue to be his fan until the next coach achieved beyond what Keshi did. For now i will hang my boots and watch as the drama unfolds.
in football, there are only two types of coaches....those that has been fired and those that will be fired
