If u schooled in Uniben and u didn't stay in Ekosondin, u missed it. Moved there in my second yr nd stayed for 4yrs. Had a gun to my head 3 times in that first month....i was like cho! See me see wahala.....things changed dramatically whn i brought some guys from my faculty to stay over the weknd. Those guys explained the situation so i made some changes... Last time i faced such situation was in my final yr. I was with my babe nd her friend nd we were robbed at Ekosodin sch gate around 6am. They took everytin including our back packs........ Aiye is a useless cult filled with scums and hungry idiats.

I'm a final year student now at uniben. The place is cool now. Unlike my 100 level whr those lesbian girls whr flogged cele flogging and asked to do gory things. It was also when they entered the school hostel (hall3) to pick one notorious guy wey dey play ball dat year **names withheld **.
To my own experience sha, I entered school as a green guy. As in I no know anything about chaiking or even getting down to bleep. Was very young and I dey do those I don't want any babe tin **kai foolish me**. Na ball, class and my guys nai concern me then. Stayed first semester with my bro, a med student at iguosa. Until I told him I wanted to feel d hostel life in my second semester. Na so wahala take start o.
One morning while going to play ball at sport complex with my guys one yellow sisi called me over and asked directions to d main bowl. Humble boy na, I carry am reach dia. We talked for a while and she even collect my number and promised to call. She said she was staying at ekosodin and her name was Dumebi. A fresher too. My guyz urged me on then. She will ask me to come over often but d tin no dey my mind cos my bro don warn me not to near dia.
Na after my second to last paper chm 122 nai yawa gas. After all d urging dat na so I go die a virgin, I told her I was coming over. She came to pick me at ekosodin gate in d evening and we entered her hostel. Dat kin 9 o'clock and we couldn't help it any more, we started d fumbling and tearing our clothes. Until GBAM!!! like four guyz broke d door in. She ran to d kitchen while I got d beating of my life.
Na d next morning she managed to get me in a cab dat took me to d hostel. I had to be admitted at d health centre and I told my bro I fell on d steps. Terrible, I later got to know dat d girl was a botty who one top man Kabaka had been toasting.
Men I never near dat arena even till now wey tinz don't calm down small. Sweet tin is I recently met d babe again and dis time I made it count.

Stayed in Ekosodin for four years, I experienced robbries, threats, fights,deaths, gun shots, everything!..

I remember the day police packed me and my hostel mates say make we produce one strong man, i cnt mention his name here, even tho' i don graduate, Loooooool. I no fit shout. And the murdafucka was even asking me out. Assuming say my hostel mate hate me ,they would have told the police say i be im girlfriend. Na there my story for finish. The next year fa,i harass dean of students till he gimme space for hall5.

Thank God sha i was able to survive. So many terrible tinz happened there then. I still love uniben sha. Couldnt have been a better school.

I stayed at FCT 1 and loved every minute of it.Hostel belonged to some renowned pastor and was looked aftr by some "prophetess".The first advice I got frm a neighbour was "if ur generator stops in d middle of d nite fr some inesplicable reason,DON'T come out to check"!!!.I learnt to mind my business and avoid unnecessary friendship esp frm females.Avoid accepting "unusual" favours .a friend of mine had an argument with a biker.she refused to pay d extra 20naira d bikeman was demanding and some overzealous boys "buy d matter",physically assaulting d bikeman.He left with an ominous"una go see".A week later,two of d guys were shot at close range by unknown gunmen wielding locally made pistols.They both survived bt still have dents in dia skulls as a permanent reminder! I once stoppd to fix my nails at a beauty parlour close to the transformer,d blatant lust and lewd stares I kept getting frm some of d girls made me do a double take and I ran fr dear life.They seemed ready to pounce on me..lwkmd.In Ekosodin,every one is a potential threat.

I came across this Display picture today and remembered My stay in the notorious Ekosodin Uniben during my undergraduate days and decided to share this experience...Date was December 23rd 2002. Location Ekosodin off campus Uniben.

I was walking down to my cousins hostel to give him a letter for my Dad since he was travelling back home the next day when I saw this pretty Skin (a term we uniben boys use for a pretty girl) walk into a hostel by the roadside. Like a normal Congilised Lagos boy schooling in Uniben, forming fine-boy and staying offcampus, armed with no money in the pocket and plenty wash-wash Pickup lines, I walked in and looked around for her, to no avail.

I went outside, sat down and waited patiently like a vulture for her to come outside. Next thing I saw two barrel chested guys walk out of the hostel towards me. They asked me what I was doing sitting there and I told them I was waiting for someone. Till date, I still wonder what happened to me that I did not tell them a thousand other lies, like my favourite 'Am Ashmatic' line I always used back then in the boarding house whenever I wanted to dodge washing for seniors.

Anyway to cut the long story short, one of them immediately told me, "so You nor see were to sidan wait na front of our Number one hostel you see!" As I tried to explain, I received two Slaps simultaneously. I recall counting a dozen other slaps and remember telling them my course of study when they asked me what was my discipline (only to find out later that they actually meant what cult I belonged to?).

After everything, I was stripped my ID card, keys and little cash and told to go and bring two crates of beer. Omo, I leave the ID card for them, next day I carry my bag run go Lagos go swear affidavit say armed robbers collect my wallet with ID card.

A friend of mine had a more terrible experience. He visited Ekosodin from BDPA where he lived for the first time and slept over in a girls house, unknown to him, a neighbour of the girl who was a cultist was eyeing the girl seriously.

All through the night as he was busy bursting her jerry can, He kept hearing footsteps outside. He called a friend of his who adviced him to leave there very early that Ekosodin was a really bad place, so he packed his stuff and told her he was leaving as early as 4.30 am only to see a bike man waiting outside the gate, as he was about to pass, two guys came out from nowhere and asked him to climb the bike.

Even in the darkness he did not need a soothsayer to tell him they had guns. He climbed the bike and they took him to the notorious Ekosodin Primary school. Where he saw about 40 other boys, sitting and smoking all forms of lung cancer enhancing things. He came down from the bike and knelt down as asked,as he was receiving the signature Ekosodin slaps, He heard someone from the crowd shout his name followed by "wetin you dey do here?"

He looked up and recognized a guy who was 4years his senior in back then in primary school and coincidentally his Mother's student back then as his mum was a teacher in the same primary school. In a harsh commanding tone the guy immediately asked them to free him and told the same bike-man to go and drop him at the school back gate whilst warning him never  to visit the girl again.

They say Teachers blessings are in Heaven. That day Heaven gave Him part of His mother's blessings because those Ekosodin boys for Use him face do Slap competition.

Nothing prepares u for the experiences u get in the "Village" and whether u “blend” or not, u come out better schooled in People management.
U learn when to raise ur voice to have ur way, & when to keep quiet and walk away even if u know u are being taken advantage of. It’s the first place u learn that not all battles are to be won; some are actually designed for u to run and fight some other time. Even our Lord Jesus was on the run at some point when Herod was after Him.
U learn how to respect without showing fear & how to walk like a god even when terrified...”Living in Ekosodin” L.I.E 101 is a necessary part of the Uniben curriculum, like E.L.A it’s a practical course, in it some have lost their lives, others their souls, some both. There some have found God & others have left Him.
Whatever the experience the “Village” never leaves u the same!!!

I was in squatted with a friend at Ekosodin for three months in my second year ( 92 sep- Jan 93) after one year stay in Unit 2 Abj Hostel and a regular at Valley of Indecision where I got my first sets of tutorials about surviving the waters in UNIBEN , that was when Godman (cool quiet but hmm ..) held sway. That was a hell and swell of a time. You get baptized into the other ruthless, serious and stark sides of life. Cannot forget the FACULTY girls, who were in surplus and available then, though, careful and one leg uo is the watchword. I had to return to hostel when I pilled up carry overs that semester. Ekosodin was hell but was also fun and educational. Finished up in Osasoghie at Mamas compund ( 3 buildings) adjacent Lucky Imasuen's house. Bob, Edo... Send money , vic, pet, Mr Biggs, Afin, Henry, Bola, Doc Mama's Daughter Osas , shout out to you all.
