This is very wrong. How can you claim it is God's favour when she was given an oil bloc that she did not deserve and the giver (Babangida) had no right to give?

Are cronyism and corruption now the main things preached as God's favour?

My brother, I call it God's favour because she was privileged to partake of the national cake those thieves have been distributing among themselves and their family members ONLY. So for one Fashion Designer who was not in any way related to them to have being give such a hugesome gift as OUR Oil Bloc, I see no reason why I wouldn't call it divine favour!
And believe me, Mariam already had a fashion desginer even before Alakija was introduced to her, but she wasn't so favoured as Alakija. I hope you see it from my perspective.

You are the one who lacks low IQ and business acumen. As a fashion designer, there's no way she would have been able to secure the needed funds to establish an oil firm that would have the finacial capacity to bid for an oil well and win it. That's why I said "simple logic tells me there's no correlation between being a fashion designer and being able to float an oil firm capable of bidding for oil wells and winning it". The only way that could have happened,is if She was given as a gift due to either her direct connection with the govt of the day,or Her having contact to someone who has a direct contact with those in authority and as I righty thought,a nairalander has exxplained her closeness to the former military ruler whose wife, she sewed for and He in turn favoured her with that oil well. Oil wells aren't given to just anybody. Learn to think properly when quoting people.

Dear , as much as I do not hold brief for Famfa Oil boss , however I must say that I detest people like you who have low IQ and lack business acumen . For your information , one's foresightedness , personality , determination , perseverance , hard work and smartness is all that leads to monumental hight of success in business as the woman and her company has attained .

Believe you me , should you change your mindset today , package yourself well and place your target at the right position , I bet you that in the next coming years your life story will change for good . The only class of people that do hardly record monumental success in business in short period of time are mostly people into article merchandising . Real time entrepreneurs always know how to go about hitting it big . Chose your line of business wisely .

You don't get it ! do you ? There is a different between a dynamic and versatile entrepreneur compared to dullards . Any dynamic and versatile entrepreneur does not need quantum of years of experience and money before delving and diversifying into another line of business . And this explained the reason why I stated in my earlier message that one's foresightedness , personality , determination , perseverance , hard work and smartness is all that leads to monumental hight of success in business as the woman and her company has attained .

To answer your questions. She was a very good fashion designer when someone introduced her to Mariam Babangida of blessed memory. Mariam Babangida has always being a very beautiful woman, but her fashion designer helped brought out all the beauties out of her. It was natural that she introduced her fashion designer to her husband who was then the Head of State because IBB would have been so impressed with the appearance of his wife anytime she steps out in those beautiful well-tailored wears. And in appreciation, IBB (who ran a chop-I-chop government), generously gave her an Oil Bloc (which she later registered as Famfa Oil) as he gave to others and because God has decided to favour Alakija, her Oil Bloc turned out to be the best among the others.

She didn't acquire her wealth as any rich man's mistress, she acquired it from God's divine favour. She simply met the right people at the right time, my dear.

So you think its normal for a president to give out an oil bloc as a present to a seamstress simply because she made nice clothes for his wife? You need to be checked into a psychiatric institution asap.
With people like you in abundance in Nigeria there is simply no hope for Nigeria.

Not hating...but i also was gonna ask how many trusts and educational foundations have she established to make solid contribution back into her community and country.Afterall she benefitted far above others in the same country where many are scrambling for crumbs.

All we read is this is the ricest that is the richest. How does it affect our image and assist poor citizens who would greatly benefit from her largess?

Boss, the so called "humble beginnings" isn't the type of thing anyone should be proud about when the said woman went from being a mistress to a corrupt dictator, to owning an oil bloc that she did not earn through hardwork or professionalism.
If you don't realize she's part of the rot in the society, then I don't know why there should even be a discussion here.

What you fail to understand is that every successful enterprise involves cunning and smartness. You only have to look at an individual to see the good side even from a bad attribute, that's what you emulate.

Even a who.re can be successful by doggedness, waking early, working late, selling her wares to exclusive clients and brand positioning etc - all attributes of a good businessman. These are the good you emulate even as a man and not opening up your behind for other men!

By the way , my company is into business facilitation and lobbying . Perhaps , I can help package you well and lead you to success in the business world . At least , when you experience monumental success within short period of time , you will realize what I mean . And by then your thought process and mindset will change for good toward many of the successful people out there . A lot of opportunities abound , my brother . What most of you people termed gift and luck , I see them as foresightedness and smartness .

P.S: M an Igbo dude, before someone would quote me and scream racism...
why people are celebrating the riches of just one woman, majority of igbos are living comfortable lives.
I'd rather be in nation that doesnt have billionaires but has a good per capita income than to be in a nation that has 20 billionaires from a corrupt system yet has very poor citizens

Comon man, read between lines and stop being so abusive. We're in 21st Century, so don't behave as if you were left behind in 19th Century. Be a gentleman in your approach. You can still make your opinion known in a courteous way.
