“Close to us is the Owerri Airport and nearly 80 per cent of the people who use it are from Abia State. It is verifiable. So, the pressure is on us to build our own airport to solve this problem. The same applies to Enugu Airport and the same with Port Harcourt Airport. Don’t forget that Aba is in Abia State and it is one of the most memorable commercial cities in Nigeria. So, the request by Abia for an airport is a momentum that has built over the years. And now the government says this is the right time to give Abia people an airport.”I don't know why I found this statement funny. Abagworo is it true? ![]() ![]() |

asha80:Yes, Aba needs all the help it can get. But despite the negligence meted against it by this current administration, it's still one of the few Nigeria cities that can boast of few good places (like Owerri, Enugu, Ph, Uyo, lagos, kaduna, jos and so). I normally laugh whenever i hear people say that Aba is the worst city in Nigeria. In as much as there is much negligence meted against it, it still retains some of it's pride. In Southeast, Aba might be the 3rd or 4th finest city. The contest of the 3rd or 4th position is between it and Umuahia, which I'll give Aba 3rd because it has all the qualities of international city. And it can stand alone as a country just like Singapore and Honkong without sourcing for help from any nearby country. Most people who criticise Aba do so based on what they see on internet, Aba is not bad and most of it's major roads are swept on daily basis. Even the popular Ikot Ekpene road, the only bad portion is at the boundary axis between Obingwa(Abia) and Essien Udim(Akwa Ibom) and has received little attention this xmas. But people has badmouth the road as if all parts of the road is in a deplorable state. Aba is not bad and dirty as people portray on internet, lets not kid ourselves bro. |

Collynzo22:Nice question. Asa road, Aba/owerri road, Umungasi rd, Okigwe rd, brass rd, factory rd, brass str, ikot ekpene rd etc has no problem whenever it rains. But you see Faulks rd, Osusu rd, Omuma rd, Umule rd, Umuode rd and Umuocham rd, even cemetery rd, hmmm whenever it rains bro you can use canoe to ply on the roads if you wish especially Faulks rd. I'll look for a pics of the flooded part of faulks rd and post. |

| Re: Welcome To Abia State: God's Own State (pictures) by ikpeazu2015: 8:33am On Dec 30, 2014 |
okezie was just deputizing, i am very sure that when he mounts as the executive governor and as an aba boy he knows the problem of aba and abia state as a whole. vote okezie to bring out our state from this ugly situation Aba, the commercial nerve-centre of Abia State, bore for some time the unenviable tag of the dirtiest city in Nigeria. The reason for this was not far to seek. This city which is renowned for its manufacturing and commercial activities was plagued by the problems of insecurity, environmental disorder, poor electricity supply, etc. |

okezie must rescue abia. abia has been reduced to a laughing stock of nigeria. no road, no nothing. abia state has been reduced to a jungle by ouk. if he fail us we shall burn down his father's house in aba. abia needs all the help it can get to come out from this deadly situation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAd2JLuP0Yc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WtEqEJxKjSY |

tabletman1:While I do not have access to detailed information on that, I sincerely doubt it. Maybe they mean residents and not native Abians. |

Nedu09:Nwanne, Aba is not bad as they portray here. I can equally fault you for relying on internet, atimes make up time to visit some Nigeria cities so as to know their real conditions. The paramount aim of what I'm doing here today is to prove some people wrong based on their wrong perception about Aba, but in actual sense Aba still needs some attentions from state and federal govt. Aba is not dirty and cannot be, just that it's having a drainage problem which is affecting some of it's roads that are far from river. Then coming to Aba and Onitsha which i would not want to comment on, so as to not to derail this wonderful thread from my Anambra brothers, Aba is better, well planned, landscaped, neater and finer than Onitsha due to the attention it received from the colonial govt in 1921, filgerow after civil war, Mbakwe and Orji Uzor kalu. The problem with we Abians is that we thought that the only way to get more from govt is to criticize but TA Orji govt has taught us that it's not the ultimate. The more we criticise his govt the more he neglect us. Aba is the 4th finest city in Igboland just that Osisioma and Ugwunagbo lgas part of the city are not doing well like other lgas who are sweeping their roads on daily basis. |

B2mario:They should put an end to the problem of flooding once and for all. People don't have to keep quiet because it is dry season and start crying again when the rain comes. |

Abagworo thanks alot, you are a good brother. I've said it on countless Occasions that Abia and Imo are the most developed states in Igboland in the sense that all the parts of the states are developed. In Abia, all the parts are developed and civilised starting from Bende and Umunneochi to Ukwa east and west, Umuahia to Ikwuano, Osisioma to Obingwa. |

Collynzo22:I tire for that comment oo...so a leader that is not doing his job should be praised or not criticized to avoid neglect?then that leader never intended to do anything in the first instance... |

Why are you always looking for enemy where it does not exist? What has Onitsha got to do with this thread? Why not focus on providing pictures to prove your point than ranting all over the place all in a bid to feel good. Now let me make it clear to you..Abia is a disaster. Its an insult to write Aba on the same page with Onitsha which has good roads and clean environment. Aba represent everything dirty, bad roads, disorganization and filth. I must confess to you that you do not have a state but 'hell'. Vote in a sane person like Otti if you wish to see good governance..if not you will continue yapping without substance. Aba is the worst town in Nigeria. I felt pity for you guys when I watched the video above. smh for you. I am ready to derail this thread for you if you will not mind your filthy state. B2mario: |

Abagworo:What they mean is residents and natives not only native. And mind you, the writer said close to 80% not actually 80%. It might be 60, 65 or 70%. The main users of Airport are business men who are using it for their businesses. Abagworo pls don't allow yourself to be dragged on this, that post needed to be ignored. They have another motive of mentioning your name. |

Nwokem gee kwa nti. I have no pleasure in derailing a thread I opened for you guys. But warn your brother mario to focus on this thread without looking for enemy where it does not exist. I careless about this thread because I opened it so that the likes of mario can come here and camp without looking for trouble elsewhere. customized13: |

| Re: Welcome To Abia State: God's Own State (pictures) by B2mario(m): 10:59am On Dec 30, 2014 |
Collynzo22:Oga most of the roads i posted here has nothing to do with floods, they are the way they are during rainy season. I thought i mentioned the ones that are being disturbed by flood here, so why your question again or do you want to hear another thing. Beside flood problem should be corrected by federal govt, so the flood problem of some part of Aba city should be blamed on Goodluck Jonathan. The 1st drainage that was done in Aba and Umuahia was done by shagari govt. Flood, erosion, earthquake, oil spilage and other natural disaster are meant to be tackled by the federal govt. |

customized13:^^^This man should shut up! Just a few months left for this visionless administration and he's talking of building an airport for Abia state! There's the little issue of finance.....has that been addressed? What of the model/renders of the proposed airport......any available? This was how they were looking for who to fool with talk of building a seaport at Obuaku! |
| Re: Welcome To Abia State: God's Own State (pictures) by Collynzo22: 11:04am On Dec 30, 2014 |
B2mario:Ok keep waiting for the Federal government to tackle flood problems in Aba. Goodluck with that. How can you describe flooding as a result of blocked drainages as natural disaster? Is Aba flooding caused by overflow of the River Niger? You are just a closet T.A. Orji apologist. Any smart person would have found that out by now. |

I guess this thread was opened by the op based on bigotry and a thread like this should be in a safe hand, before this thread becomes to long for us to truncate i suggest we reopen another one with an abian being the op. It won't be easy but we just have to do it before this thread becomes to long. Thanks www.nairaland.com/2068012/welcome-abia-state-hope-east |

ikpeazu2015:I want to engage you on some issues, but I need to know whether you are Okezie, his representative or just someone who supports him and with a good knowledge of his visions for Abia, but before we take this further, if he cannot accept that Orji had 8 years to correct those things you blame OUK for, how are we sure that we would not be going round in circles in 4 years time still blaming OUK? |
| Re: Welcome To Abia State: God's Own State (pictures) by ikpeazu2015: 11:58am On Dec 30, 2014 |
FACE:the problem we have today in abia started with ouk. ta orji came and they influenced aba people to insult him despite all the good works. okezie is the right man for the job because he is an aba boy. if he fail us we shall burn his house in aba. |
