Coal is cheap, convenient and are more efficient in terms of megawatts produced than all these 100mw gas plants littered around.
A single coal power plant can produce more than the 4500MW we currently generate from several sources.

Do you know anything about nuclear at all, i doubt if you do. Do you have knowledge about Nigerian's attitude on safety. However, as long as they construct it in your backyard its fine by me. If they cant maintain a road you think they can maintain nuclear power. People just come here and mention names of things they don't really understand thinking its generator they are dealing with.

BTW, why don't you ask Project Engineers around you the life cycle of this type of plant from Conception, Design, Costing, Contracting, Execution to Handover & Testing.

If you think Nuclear facility is something that could just be sited at a "backyard" then this show your level of knowledge about Nuclear facility. I would have love to challenge you on this nuclear stuff. I know that most of those criticising the move is mainly because of the news they heard in 2011 about the "fukushima nuclear reactor disaster". What most of you people fail to recognise is the fact that fukushima nuclear disaster is not due to maintenance problem---it's as a result of an earthquake causing a 15m tsunami to hit the facility. So just forget about "maintenance" here. Even the nuclear disaster of Chernobyl is not also by maintenance. Go and Check your Record well before airing your pointless facts here.
