Hello house, Will poe officer allow a 34 weeks pregnant mum travelling to US for the first time entry?
With all bills paid down. But what was stated at the interview was vacation.

Kindly send a mail to the Lagos or Abuja embassy where you got your visa and explain to them that your reason for travelling to the USA has changed. You have to print out their response and go along with all your documents and receipts to show them at the POE. With that done, you should be fine.

Of course he will, it's none of his business na, I stand to be corrected but I doubt if poe officers blink at ow far gone u r, it's ur airline's policy for flying preggies u need to find out and be worried about plus get ur fit to fly d way they want it. I flew at 35 wks and the Poe officer didn't even notice my belle until I told him I was there to av my baby.

Its not easy to cope alone without help because the first one week after delivery, you cant do any other house chores except to carry your baby. I will advise you get someone to assist you after delivery.

@SAkale: Any luck with your enquiries on Elpaso? A friend is considering using them but she doesn't know if she can rely on their letter of med responsibility.

Dear US Birth Team

I have been reading this trend and will like clarification on some issues i noticed.....

Is it that it has been proved that EL Paso through doctoresparati.com is not a good choice or, PeaceNigeria and other new moms are just having a little misunderstanding that has led to confusing me a bit on making a choice. Kindly clarify the best option for Birth in USA. I will really appreciate this ASAP. angry undecided

Good day members,

I making inquiries for a friend of mine. She is not so good with using social media platform, so she needs to know if she can take another doctor/hospital's letter with her in addition with ElPaso's in case they have issues with the doctores parati letter. She intends to show them that she has contacted 2 different hospitals and might be using either. The only snag is that she will have to pay non-refundable registration fees at 2 different hospitals just to get their letters of medical responsibility. I need advice please.

Thanks.

You didn't even ask if she was pregnant before the interview and other circumstances surrounding her interview.
Let's not abuse this change of intent thing. With the way things are going the letter will be taken with a pinch of salt at POE, and may eventually stop working. Thereby, making the innocent suffer.

Little wonder the Lagos embassy changed their tone of response. Some folks will intentionally lie at interview or claim not to be pregnant with the intention of writing a letter to the embassy afterwards. Nigerians, we always abuse things #DontKnowWhyWeAreFondOfThat

Hi Guys,

I got this from the USA VO Non-Immigrant Visa thread - I believe it helps answer a question a lot of people have about visas that have been obtained for previous purposes and being used for childbirth. It also relates to this popular email "letter of intent".

Question Asked
tiebe:

Hello, i read on the us embassy website that the there are several uses of a B1/b2 visa and medical use was included. so, I wonder why some people are advised to write the embassy to inform them that they would be using the visa to travel to the U.S to give birth.

if i obtained the visa for a conference, traveled for the conference and then subsequently, used the same visa to travel to visit disney land, I am not required to write the embassy to say i am no longer using it for conference but for tourism. So, why does it seem like the rules change when/if i want to use the visa to travel to the U.S to give birth?

Answer from VO
abujaniv:

You are correct that travel for medical purposes is one included as a use of B1/B2. There's no requirement that B1/B2 visa holders email us to inform that they are going to use their B1/B2 for medical purposes, though many choose to do so. (Looking through those messages, it appears in general the emails are largely questions like "can I use my B1/B2 for medical purposes", similiar to your question.)

In response to those questions, we do point out (and I'll reiterate the same point here) that a visa is just permission to go to the US and ask a Customs and Border Protection officer (CBP - the folks checking passports at the airport) for clearance to enter the country. If you are seeking to use your B1/B2 for medical purposes, the same guidelines we require to issue a visa for a medical purpose remain in effect when CBP is deciding if they will let you in. (For reference, here's the guidelines: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/nigeria/487468/pdfs/MedicalVisaInformation.pdf ). So it's important that you have that documentation ready to show a CBP officer once you get off the plane.

I hope that answers your question. Usually what gets people in trouble isn't using the B1/B2 for a conference, and then a year later using the same visa for a medical procedure. It's when people say they are going to use the B1/B2 for a conference, but when they show up at the border a few weeks later there's no mention of a conference and instead they're seeking a medical procedure - at that point it's usually clear some sort of deception has occured.

Hi, what was said if i can remember correctly was that dresparati are not medical doctors but agents and that some visa officers at the american embasy dont accept their letters as burden of proff. That said, some people have also gotten visas with their letters and others have also been turned back and told to ger another letter..
My candid advice to you is get anothet letter if you are going for visa interview. You can still decide to go the el paso route after you get your visa and enter the Us

story story.
so my flight was for 11;30pm from lag to london, london to dallas and dallas to houston.
i had requested a wheelchair online and checked in to. i went to check my bags and my precious palm oil was siezed. i was wheeled to the plane and den we took off. british qirways food was poor. so i ate pringles and slept thru d flight.
got to london and customs stopped me. said my tummy wqs too big that how long gone was i. i said 30 weeks with twins. immediately they heard twins the pampering began.. i was wheeled to the depature area. my next flight was in 6hours and i was hungry and so tired. i went to the lounge and was told to pay 60pounds to sleep for 3 hours. na so i carry myself back to depqture area, put my bag as pillow and slept.
i woke up 2 hours to my flight and went to check in cos my flight to dallas was with american airlines. they said an american immigration would come and check if my visa was eligible for childbirth. he came, xhecked and told them to check me in. then a wheelchair took me to the plane.

the flight to dallas was loonnggg... but i had four seats to myself with lots of pillows and blankets, they kept bringing food and water and tea, ice cream and i was eating all (me wey hunger don catch from london)
by the time we got to dallas my feet was times 3 the size. really swollen. so i told them i would walk instead of the wheelchair (big mistake)
the distance was so long... i was looking for where to collect my bags.. i searxhed for 20 mins before i was told i had to go thru customs first . i got to cuatoms and saw like 200 people on queue... i wanted to faint

I dont think your friend would have any issues. There are doctors and hospitals mentioned on this forum e.g. Dr Fagbohun that dont collect deposits before sending you their letters.

Hello guys,

I am sharing this coz I desperately needed accommodation for my wife and the support i got via information, calls, emails from all narialanders was phenomenal .I am indeed grateful to you guys and most of all to GOD as I eventually got a free and very good accommodation with my friend's aunt in Richmond itself and am using oakbend (yes,God still works in mysterious ways).

I also got a narialander share a great package of $1000(furnished room:$650,shared car rent btw two occupants:$300) though I do not have further details such as address etc.I was surprised she was reserved to share this information on the forum so that she wont be labelled a MARKETER and I was extremely perplexed by this as this would have been fantastic for me (if not for the awof i got) and possibly a ton of us all sourcing for info to optimize our cost.

@Justwise,I think we need to review the rules of sharing information such that people can be more open after all, the responsibility still lies on the forum participant to validate the integrity of information shared

Have we not been sharing info here for ages? What we are against here is direct or indirect marketing which a lot people do here in the name of 'helping' people. If people want to market their business then they should contact the admin and discuss that.

Please don't advertise accommodation, transport etc on behalf of anybody.

I hear you justwise but I still struggle to grasp the standardization of these rules, for instance, how different is the info I shared about accommodation options and cost different from those who share similar info on docs, hospitals and airlines cost/pricing?

Does these guys contact you before they post such info?

Nobody contacts me, i got nothing to do with advert here.

Your post is more of advert on behalf of somebody than just info sharing, we all know when people are engaging in indirect marketing and simply mentioning Dr's name or price list.
