Dear NL

Please I am in dying need of assistance, and I don't know what to do. I got pregnant and luckily I was able to get a 2 years visa. My mum decided to come with me because she is an American citizen. Although have lived more in Nigeria.

Upon arrival my mum's friend who lives in America said she can help us. We got to America Brooklyn new York to be precise and she has been acting up.

Insulting my mum and being all rude to her. my mum will call she wouldn't pick. I will call she wouldn't pick. Next thing she said she is upset with me because I called her Aunt and not mummy. I'm getting fed up. My mum is begging me to be patient with her till she helps us with what we need, but truthfully I am just fed up.

My budget is $6000 can anyone please advise me on what to do and what hospital to go to with this budget I have. i stay in brooklyn new York. need step by step guidance. ..PLEASE.

Thank you in advance.

Hi everyone,
This is to give back as i got every info from this wonderful site..i am set to leave for naija next week. I got in thru atlanta in dec, i flew delta. came in with my mum.
I stayed in cypress, and paid 1800 for my entire stay. From dec 11th till date. I had my babyboy on january 27th at mwhh
my doc fee 1600,
circumcision 250,
lab 70,
the hospital 3100..(this covered for my boy's bill at the hospital.
Epidural 750
newborn check up 310 while at the hospital
i had an uncomplicated vaginal delivery.( Glory be to God)
i had one false labour and was billed 93dollars for that.

I got my baby's bc 3days after i had my baby, then got his passport this week monday(same day)thru the passport agency downtown.
Note: you have to show proof of travel within14days.

I just received his passport this morning,i sent it to edwin(edventure) for visa on wednesday it cost me 350 and 90 dollars to mail.

I used dr neal grossman for my baby's 2days and one month check up &hep vaccine and i think it cost me approx 400dollars. I have collected all receipts and zero bals where necessary. I had my 6weeks post natal check up & i paid 30dollars for pap smear test.

Thank you all so much. To those yet to apply for visa, those about to travel, those waiting to pop and those of us about to go back to naija. I wish us all God's unshaking grace.

congrats and safe trip as u make your way back to Nigeria. Can I get details of the accommodation? how is the environment, is it close to stores? How's transportation, are there buses? Pls every detail will really help. A friend of mine used the hospital last year but stated with relatives. Though the quote she gave me for her doctor is cheaper. Thanks

Thanks ozycy! Its a private arrangement. Right now its not available because my friend will be taking over when i leave. yes it is less than 15mins to walmart, ross and many other stores. My doc charged 1600. Baby sykes( dr zimmerman) For transportation, i used yellow cab for most of my trips cos the hospital and docs office were also about 15mins from the house. The environment was and is very safe.

I had my baby in Maryland this February. I filled a form at the hospital for my baby's birth cert and SSN. I collected the birth certificate a week after birth at the dept of vital statistics baltimore. I then submitted all the required documents to process the American passport same day at the library in columbia. Got my baby's passport yesterday. Although I paid extra $60 for expedited processing.

Southwest to Chicago? *blank stare*

Southwest goes to a specific part of US, it doesn't cover the entire us, only the South West.

I just flew them to Chicago midway for $89 to and $89 back.... like I said cheap and cheerful with 2 bags free and you get your bags unlike Spirit... sad

Lol... they came to my room too while I was in the hospital and started with paying for my baby and then said if me too I wanted it wouldn't be a problem... so as not to talk too much I told him to drop his card that I shall contact him when I decide.
