darediamond:Their body 'll roll in their Graves. Poor educated folks slaughtered by illiterates supporting an illiterate. We live in a country of the blind. I can hear US and UK saying "mission complete". Now, we 'll go back 2 where we started again. Poor country with short memory. They just banked on the people's lack of knowledge of democracy. The gang up worked but Posterity is a better judge and it's ruling comes with time. @ this point, I begin to believe in the Igbo man's call for division. |

madamGift:Contrary to what most uniformed Nigerians think, Gej has done so much for the country, there are trllions of naira worth of project going on all over the country, such as power plants, gas plants, pipelines, roads, railways, trans-saharan gas pipeline projects , second nationa grid project, second niger b and so many others too numerous to mention. There is no way the incoming govt will perform better than him, that is the reality on ground. It is not a fluke that today nigeria is no one foreign investmeny destination in Africa today. Judging from history, buhari is a very bad manager of economy, nevertheless, I wish him well. What nigerians should always remember is that Rome was not built in a day as they will soon face the stack reality of our time. Our people the talk say when person marry two women he will soon know which among is better than the other. |

ikechukwu354:Illiterates are foul hardy because they have no values nor respect for anything. Not even life. This show's clearly the difference between two geo-political and individual divide hence in any comparison between 2011 and 2015 post election conduct, we know where the problem of this forced marriage called a country is coming from. |

49cents:Thank you nwane....There is no bad blood. Politics aside, i will agree with you that IGBOS should produce a President, being part and parcel of Nigeria. The problem l have with Igbo (No Sentiments here) is that: 1.)They knew Jonathan was NOT Igbo but S/South. They just felt they were losing out and would rather back Jonathan, for another 4yrs 2.) They knew Jonathan was NOT PERFORMING AT ALL....and should have told him so. But heck, he is our brother is all we hear 3.) There are millions of bright Igbos that l know, who could do far better than Jonathan, yet they want to stick with Jonathan. If PDP has fielded another Igbo person, one of theirs who is respected outside of Igboland, l tell you, PDP would have won again 4.) Igbos saw what Jonathan was doing (lootocracy, bribery, rigging, e.t.c) and could have called a spade, a spade but heck No, everything goes on the alter of "tribalism". 5.) Apologies to people like you... but l think Igbos still keep making "wrong political calculations" based on "short term gains" and losing out on the long term benefits. I am speaking honestly on this point 5. if you care to read some of my "detailed analysis" of the power structures of our geo-political zones in the past. I would have love to see an Igbo Nation that says "We will support you so that you too can support us, when it is time for us to make a bid". That is how politics work. Tell me, since Democracy is about NUMBERS, do you think Hausas will not support a Yoruba bid for Presidency, when the time comes? Do you think they would support an igbo choice? Yorubas have just "sown" now...... with the hope of reaping in future. What Igbos did in the Abiola case is an example of what l am talking about, and l remember back then that Igbos were going to be rewarded for it handsomely, along the line. Also, l also think Igbos have to "learn" to build TRUST across political divide. A lot of pundits feel that once an Igbo heads a place, he will ensure that all others are pushed away and juts colonize the place! Look at the Political appointments of Jonathan for example. Did you not see that they were "excessively" Igbo dominated? That builds distrust and does not work in your favor, in Politics. I dont want to sound condescending but l would be lying if l say l dont know what each tribe can bring to the table.... and that is why l think we are better together, than apart. Igbos can never be "useless"... that kind of talk is just "politics and yabis". The problem as l see it (as an outsider) is that the Igbo nation has to let go of the past FIRST (The past colors our present in ways that entrench even that past)... then start on a clean slate of mind and then let others "appraise and embrace" them. That is an outsiders view. You wont see it that way since you are an insider. BTW: We know the Northerners, we know their Pedigree (Politically and emotionally) but we Yorubas always give everyone a fighting chance to be a better person...and who says a Northerner cannot be better? Nigerians will come to realise in future that what gives the Yorubas theiran advantage is what they understand and interpret as a weakness: their not so violent nature. "A man can either be adept in using his BRAWN (muscle)...... or his BRAINS". Generally, as you use less of one (intentionally or otherwise), you develop more of the other. . Just like someone who is blind, their sense of touch and smell develops more, than that of a sighted person. Igbos tend to be more of "physically" minded. Just my own opinion. Finally, How do you think Igbos will be feeling today.... knowing that the person they openly and unreservedly backed... has lost Again!? Instead of saying "we miscalculated".... they are heaping the blame on.... and insulting Yorubas by saying "Yorubas are slaves to Hausas"! can you imagine the "self denial" syndrome there? Is that not Political naivety? When Yorubas start reaping that "calculation", will the Ndigbo not cry out and shout "marginalisation"? Sometimes, as critical of Ndigbo as l am, l think l like them more than l am admitting hence my keen and critical analysis of their actions, politically...with the intention and hope that "something" will change, going forward. Anyway, if we all join hands to ensure that "our Votes Count", we can always boot-out ANY non-performing leader and this will augur well for all of us. Lastpage! |

vanunu:Your last phrase Says it all... If only buhari is an intelligent man, he could take credit for those GEJ's ongoing projects but being d buhari that I know, he won't measure up because his marriage with the west will end on may 29nth that's if we eventually get there. It will end because the hausa man will not take orders or suggestions from a "lesser muslim(west)" man. If not out of his volition, his fellow hausa's will push him. If cut off from the west, what has he got left to present with no knowledge of modern world economy? Nothing. |

@Sagamite, even when a dishonourable fellow performs a honourable act; it acts is still deemed honourable. For every crime you can accuse GEJ same or similar accusation can be made against any of the ruling class in both APC & PDP. In this same Nigeria IBB annulled what is considered the freest election in Nigeria, today same IBB is accorded respect and walks freely in Naija. In 2011 we were all witnesses to the bloodshed's following the election, there was no way BuharI could have won that election, even Tinubu on numerous occasions and even of recent alluded to it; which as we have seen today the then failed alliance between ACN & CPC then, which was restated and morphed to APC with a stronger ACN ( more governors) produced the required result, yet hundreds of innocent people murdered in Buhari''s name or in pursuit of his cause; not a word from the General; he choose to look the other way, GEJ said his ambition is not worth the blood of any person; by doing this he has kept his word, avoided an avoidable crisis for the country. He could have chosen to do otherwise tonight, we may not know if he had, how it would have ended for him; but I can tell you it would have been worse for ordinary Nigerians on the street. |

49cents:Why waste your time educating such? Most Yoruba's 'v always been lapdogs to the Hausa's. History keeps repeating itself. Playing second fiddle all the time. Everything there is a bleak hope of this nation getting the final solution to this nation ( which is true or fiscal federalism) they sell their freedom and that of others out for a pot of porridge but this time, they 'll be surprised @ how this North/West marriage will end in shame. |

President Jonathan is a gentleman we all know. Even Sanusi Lamido Sanusi said it during the days of the missing money crisis. Unfortunately, he was surrounded by some bad people like the one that went and displayed his foolishness at the INEC Hdqtrs, Orubebe, Fani Kayode, Okupe, Diezani, Bala Mohammed, Gov. Orji, Gov. Suswam, Nyesin Wike and many more to mention including his wife, Mama Pis. These people enriched themselves from his government and they are not on ground in their states to save him. I wish him a peaceful retirement from the Presidency. |
