We can relegate card readers to the background now. Those who oppose it should learn from the president, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan reconsider their positions.

your point is not straight!

If INEC insist on using the card reader then it better prepare for court case from the PDP to get it stoped to allow for rigging this time around .
Hopefully the likes of Rtd Col . Bello Fadile will be available to file the case .

INEC can even use electronic voting if they like. One thing I am certain about is that okorocha will lose the governorship election on April 11. Any die-hard APC fan willing to bet should do so. At least five hundred thousand naira.

With this you will see that Kano won't have up to 1 million votes.
Re: INEC Insists On Card Readers For Guber Elections by searider(m): 6:35pm On Apr 05, 2015
I support the use of the card readers. If not for the card readers; PDP would have rigged the last presidential election and relates the victory to the good work of GEJ.

They have been doing it for the past 16years whereby you see the number actual voters greater than the registered numbers.

The day I voted for APC and they won; I knew my vote counts.

JIMI Agbaje, beware of my PVC.

Some people in certain quarters were not comfortable with the card reader, hence its failure in those few places with complains.
We thank God that that is now history.
Go ahead INEC. Card reader all the WAY!!!

Good, but... I would like to know this.

1. After collecting thumb prints with the card reader, does INEC calculate the sum total of all thumb prints from all the card readers from all polling units?.

2. Or, is the sum total of thumb prints calculated from the thumb prints made on paper?.

I need to know this to be able to ascertain whether the card reader itself is a good thing. Someone in the know, please help.

bro, with my knowledge in the handling of the card reader in the last election, I can say INEC can only calculate from the number of thumb printed on the ballot papers because that is what will be use to collate the final result @ the end of the day and not the one from the card reader.

From the presidential & house of Representatives election, the only hitch I got from the card reader was the issue on not able to read fingerprint @ a time but from my own observation it was not a fault from the card reader but that of the electorate (dirty hands). So, I asked them to get a bucket with water and soap to wash their hands so it will be easier and that dey did and it all went well though some refuses and I was only able to capture their PVC without their fingerprint and they have to check manually for them.

I think the usage or the usefulness of the card reader for now is to be able to prevent rigging and not for collating result..... It ain't perfect for that now. Should incase their is rigging in a particular ward or unit, you can always confront INEC for the total number of accredited as it is on the card reader but na Naija we dey..... D person wey do am know how to manipulate am....

So, it might as well be like what Buhari said "go to court and remain there"...... U just dey waste ur time except the body is independent..... I repeat except the body is independent

Thanks for your response. But, from what you've said the card reader and PVC is totally useless. If there's no way to tally the digital thumb prints on the card reader with thumb prints on ballot papers then it doesn't worth it. How do INEC know it's the same number of digital thumb prints that's on the ballot papers?. As long as there's no way of knowing this then it opens up chances to rig elections with ease.

the total no of accredited voters must be equal to the No of people that thumb printed. If there is any difference from the two numbers, then the election at that polling unit will be cancelled because to INEC, the election at that polling unit has been rigged. Hope I've answered your question?

Card readers have come to stay..... That's why the USA ambassador is trying to import the technology down to the state for use during their own election
