I think the Oba Akiolu's statement was exaggerated by some evil minds to propagate their evil agenda.

Lagosians are no fools. The people over heating the polity to gain cheap political values are are not doing themselves or Lagos, and Nigerians at large any good.

Elections have been taking place in Lagos before now, and there will still be more Elections in the future.

If you divide your people along religious and ethnic lines, I wonder the manner of governance the so called group that are dwelling on the alleged statement made by the Oba wants to adopt.

Lagos has never been hostile to any group, irrespective of the diverse tribes resident in the state.

Am sure indigbos have been having meetings with Oba Akiolu prior to this election period; mostly bothers on how both groups can work and live together harmoniously.

Just because some groups and political parties decided to deviate from campaigning with issues that can move Lagos forward, than resort to smear campaigns. Now, it's getting at any personality simply to divert attention in other to hoodwink the electorates.

Against the Royal tenets, the Oba swallowed his pride, came out to address the public, made statements to correct the purported statement earlier made.

Please, my Igbo brothers and sisters, lets put all that behind us and look forward to a greater Lagos.

I urge you not to allow any political jobber to mislead you and your family members in any manner.

Am sure you don't want to see or experience the kind of crisis going on in Ekiti state, or other states related to that party in Lagos.

The kind of environment this APC government created for our businesses to thrive, and for the protection of lives and properties is what we should all focus on to see how we can consolidate it on Saturday.

There won't be an untimely death in our land in Jesus mighty name. We shall all live long to reap the benefits of our labour.

Go out there and continue with your normal activities without any fears or worries. Come Saturday, vote for the progress, consolidation and a more prosperous Lagos.

I fault Tinubu's response on the ground that he should first apologise on behalf of the oba, and demand that the oba should apologise too. Tibunubu should've pointed out how wrong and unlawful it is for an oba of lagos to make such statements, Tinubu is the party leader, a former governor and an elder, so he has a responsibility to do all these. Instead, he's on the defensive on behalf of apc, that's where I fault him. Look at Femi Falana's response and you'll catch my drift.

When we conducted an exam and a spelling competition, an Igbo boy, Ebuka, from Anambra, came first and he became the governor for one day.

“Those that won the competition three times in a row were Igbo. Ebuka was sent to Switzerland computer school and then Obafemi Awolowo University. We did not say he was an Igbo boy and he would not enjoy. He became an executive in Oando and he is now in Canada.

It's enough. The Igbos have been vilified enough in recent times for their democratic expression. First it was GEJ, now it's Lagos. The indigenous people of Lagos, the Yorubas, have to accept it as a sacrifice for national unity that the Igbo political power in Lagos is waxing stronger every year.


The number of federal legislators of Igbo extraction will more than double next time around. No one can do anything about that. It's democracy and democracy is all about people opinion. Since the Igbos have the numbers to effect a political change in Lagos, so be it.

These being said, I feel the Oba was speaking out of sheer anger about Igbos being able to help elect six PDP candidates into the federal legislature from Lagos, some of which are Igbos themselves.

Everybody should forgive and ignore the Oba and ensure that you exercise your constitutional democratic right by voting your conscience.
