Eze Ndi Igbo In Lagos Reacts To Oba Of Lagos Anti-igbo Comment by lalasticlala(m): 4:39pm On Apr 08, 2015
The Eze Ndi Igbo in Lagos, Nwabueze Ohazulike, has appealed to Igbo residents in the state to remain calm ahead of Saturday’s gubernatorial election.
In a press conference at his palace in Lagos, Wednesday, Mr. Ohazulike said that he was not part of the group of Eze Ndi Igbos who paid a courtesy visit to the Oba of Lagos on Sunday.

“Eze Ndi Igbo of Lagos State, the head of the Eze Ndi Igbo structure in Lagos State, had no knowledge and was not involved nor invited to the so called courtesy visit to the first class Oba. This speaks volumes,” Mr. Ohazulike said.

“The Igbos have a long history of cordial relationship in Lagos State with the Yoruba community and other Nigerians and shall continue to cherish such relationship and make concerted efforts to protect and enhance it and to continue to promote the spirit of unity of Nigerians, love, peace and inter-ethnic harmony in the state.”

Everyone needs to just take a deep breath - or maybe a thousand deep breaths - and calm down. Violence begets violence. No-one needs that right now.

I think the Igbos should respect their host, and try and do what will bring peace and peaceful co-existence. No one will go to Aba or Onitsha and try to claim relevance or drag rights with the true indigenes of those areas. Lagos belongs to the Yoruba's, like it or not.

*modified* this post is not in any way trying to support what the Oba said. What he did was undemocratic and anti Nigeria. Let's say the right words always

As far as we are concerned there is no such thing as Eze ndigbo Lagos because every igboman is a king unto himself therefore we disregard this 'handwashing'....Come weekend igbos will troop out in their hundreds of thousands with their life jackets to exercise their franchise as Nigerians living in Lagos,Nigeria ...Gaddem that Oba.

I strongly this issue has been overflogged. The Oba and Jimi Agbaje are related. Oba Akiolu claimed to have acted on behalf of Ambode but has further helped the campaign of Jimi. Both the Yorubas and Igbos are only causing more harm here. The APC has disassociated itself from the Oba and so has Ambode. People should be allowed to vote whomever they see fit to rule over them. The Eze Ndigbo in Lagos is wise enough to understand that the Igbos should foster unity and overlook the clown of the Oba.

If e-warriors, particularly Igbo TANoids are still inciting violence with this urge, then I'd say they've not gotten over the defeat of GEJ. It's high time we put childish acts behind us. Today, tomorrow or the next, we'll leave this world and what would be left of the Yorubaland/Biafra struggle? It's high time we had a rethink.

That is one reason I don't want to associate myself with these groups. So many factions...poor sentence construction and claim of superior knowledge is one major issue with these characters. I don't pay tax to the group, no allegiance, no social and economic benefit whatsoever gained from them. I don't know them! Therefore, why should i take them serious ...nonsense....nonsense.

Under Buhari, lets see if some of them won't go into extinction. Nonsense..... angry

I still blame Jonathan for this factionalisation, sectionalism and tribalism. He bought everything embarassed

Igbos should stop meddling in internal affairs of Lagos State.

Lagos is Yoruba Land and it is time Igbos understand that.

Igbos should learn to be good immigrants.
