Always taking laws into his hands! GMB is far from a changed " democrat". There is a govt entity called -NBC. National Broadcasting Comission- that is saddled with the responsibility of sanctioning erring media houses.
There is also laws against libel and slander and to the best of my knowledge, no court in the land has awarded damages to GMB against AIT. He's the offended, complainant and judge in this case.
Can GMB just rise above pettiness and vindictiveness? Naija has a lot of problems .. Barring AIT is not one of those.

This one chance president elect wnts to gag the press again. Everythig AIT and other TV stations aired about buhari are true reflection of him. Why is he annoyed? He should learn to be tollerant bec we are in a democracy period and not military. Better still let buhari go and ttend Ntional Democratic Institute before taking over. This is necessary for him to adjust

Have U heard of the Wikileak case? What of the Snowden the whistle blower case? USA practice one of the best form of Freedom of Information in the world, yet they still have words like libel and slander. We need to be well educated about what freedom of information entails. If you think freedom of information mean freedom to abuse others then you are wrong. There is a limit to freedom of speech. If you abused someone in the US and stained his public image, he can sue you in court.
Show me a link to any hate campaign against Jonathan and I will show you AIT documentary on Buhari and let us see who broke business ethics. Talks about missing $20billion, bringbackour girls, buying private jets, PEJ been in Germany etc are no hate campaign it is what an opposition must do for the wellbeing of the nation else we will be milked dry. So there is no need to compare the two.
What GMB did will bring sanity into Nigerians. It is annoying when you are arguing with someone about a case and instead of trying to get his points across the other person start attacking his man. U will be reading and hearing chats like,'ur papa get sense sef', 'ur father is a wasted sperm' etc and we say we are exercising our freedom of speech... I don't want to talk much yet will keep on saying it... We need sanity in this new Nigeria.

I think AIT deserves more than this because they violated the rules of their business by airing different falsehood documentary against GMB during campaign. But I think THEY can go to court and win the case because of the law of freedom of press. But GMB can play politics by using NBC to allege them of breaking their business rules and suspend their license for a period of time to teach them a lesson.

I think AIT deserve more than this for bad business they involved themselves during campaign. But with the freedom.of press they can go to court and win. I suggest GMB should play politics by using NBC to allege them for breaking press rule and there by suspend their license for a period of time to teach them a lesson.

Bar not BAN as you guys have misunderstood the term. He bars them from covering his own activities not BAN them from doing their work. And also note the reason for the bar.Family and security concern .You can work around what youre comfortable with .

See reason before commenting, the hate campaign and now still coming close means alot. Don't rule out espionage through them. They were only bare and not ban. If it were you, I doubt you will act what you are saying.

The more reason to be worried though.
However, if i were AIT management and staff i will be really happy about the news for the following reasons
1. It shows the man GMB has not changed, true to the documentary ran on him...they have been vindicated.
2.It shows he is vindictive and harbor ill feelings for those who campaigned against him...so the SS and SE should be ready for a long drawn war.

If i were to be AIT management and news team, i will consider liaising with the opposition, the now PDP to bring down this tyrant-elect and use the station as a mouth piece of clean opposition and serve as a station for the conscience of the masses for this APC led government.

Surely, there will a lot to write about as news items will definitely not be in lack for them, and their ratings will be very high ....as nothing sells fast and well as negative news repeatedly proven by news of GEJ reign in office.

Really, He has not changed.

If not PUNCH,VANGUARD,SAHARANES, PREMIUMTIMES, CHANNELSTV and TVC would have been frozen out in GEJ tenure.
A clear difference between NIGHT and DAY IMHO.

But i thought he is now the president-elect, which means he is now a public property.
So whether he likes it or not, he has no right to deprive the Nigerians who elected him news covering in and around him.

So he has no right to say No anymore (this is what being a President and indeed an elected Public Officer means or even a common celebrity means)......except when it has to do with his private home....which common sense says we should respect.

If he can not stand the heat in the kitchen...he should leave the cooking to those who can.
