My dear pple, good eve....

Pls is it safe for a 40weeks gone lady to be induced for labour?

Are there any adverse effect one should be wary of?

Kindly help.

Thanks

I think Google will give you a better and more professional advice second after your doc/physician.

Dear friends,

Join me in praising the Almighty God!!! My visa was approved this morning. The issue of my hubby's green card didn't come up at all. I made sure I was interviewed by a man. Kept dodging in the queue till a guy was free. Didn't want to deal with all those frowning women I saw there. I will post the interview transcript once I settle down in the office. I am still overwhelmed with joy cheesy grin

Awesome News!!! Very happy for you

Hello, if you don't mind opening. An account, my mum opened a savings account in Diamond yesterday and did PTA of 4000$ today at 200/$

She said they were courteous, delighted to do it and not as if they were doing her favour.

When my husband was told PTA is given only to account holders (Fidelity), the customer service lady offered to sharply open one for him. He declined cas he remembered one of their staff was always coming to his office to market the bank to him. So he called him up and behold the guy later came to our house yesterday evening with forms for my husby and I including already signed referee forms. He promised we'll get the currencies we need on Thursday, which is tomorrow. Hmm talk about home service!

In my opinion I think you should wait until you're past 41 weeks to be induced. From studies I've read women conceive at diff times during their circle not always mid cycle and that affects real due dates.
Just talk with your Dr first sha.
This using LMP to calculate due dates just puts one in panic mode when 40weeks pass and no
show. grin

Get a licensed gynecologist and he will discuss and explain everything to you in clear terms..
There are many things involved: The present medical condition of the woman, her past medical history, her past surgical history, present and past obstetric/ Gynaecological history, size of the baby in index pregnancy and previous pregnancy, etc...
So the issue of safety is relative, your Doctor could go ahead or otherwise based on need, cos there are so many reasons for induction of labour, but no definite answer can be given online.
See your gynecologist in a proper centre immediately

All the best!

I walked in and the VO asked me my reason of travel, i told her plainly i want to have my baby in the USA.

VO: What city are you going to?

ME: Houston

VO: Do you have any doctors letter>?

ME: Yes and i show her and include receipts of part payment for both hospital and doctors fees.

VO: Where do you work? can i see your statement of account?

ME: I hand them over and offer to show her my letter of consent and pay slips

VO: I don't need to see any other documents. pick up your passport on ...make sure you collect a zero balance letter from your hospital for renewal of your visa.

I called prince george and the hospitsl bill for vagina delivery is 10 ,000dollars while cs goes 12,000dollars. No other fee /Doctors fee isnt inclusive.
Well maryland is surely an expensive place to birth.
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by demiiii(f): 10:40am On Apr 30, 2015
When did u pay this.i .believe dis is far from the truth, we should try not to mislead people.spoke to them just yesterday the 29th of april and dis prices here are far from true. They even said no discounts will be given for self pay/pay out of pocket

Vagina delivery is $10000 and cs is $12000

I am currently hospital shopping
shirley013:

Prince George's County hospital (they may have updated their prices, @karypops shared the latest prices which I have attached below
Dr A.G Chaudry
Doc's fee including all visits n tests $2514
Hospital: Mother
$3539.16, Baby $797.14
Total $6,850.30

You can google for the contact info of the various doctors and hospitals. Most do not accept email correspondence. Just phone and fax.

for those considering prince George in maryland the hospital fee for mother & baby is 7,500+ for normal delivery without epiduralol for 2nights.
I was actually heading to El paso for delivery bt my baby came earlier so I was taken to PG hospital I paid the above as hospital fee excluding Dr & other charges note dat this is not emergency fee it is their standard fee.
They give 1% discount for self paid.
I hope some1 finds this useful.

Hmm my dear, I have calculated and over calculated and I can see that Houston is not that cheap for we c- section bound women. Anesthesia alone in Methodist is $1,500! I'm getting totals of between $9,000 and $9,500. I just have to scout for more money before my travel date. Any philanthropist in the house? embarassed cry

Maryland is really expensive to give birth. You can try shady groove adventist hospital. Their range is arnd 7,000 dollars. Laurel regional hospital is like 6, 000 dollars. I used Howard County hospital in columbia, they gave us an estimate of 8, 500 for virginal delivery and down payment of 5, 000 dollars upon registration. I stayed in the hospital for 2 nights, had a normal delivery without epidural and total cost for mysef and my baby for 2 nights amounted to 6, 200 dollars. I think they give u estimate but u might not pay up to that amt if there's no complication. Ped fee was 290 dollars. Choice of hospital also depends on where you are staying in Maryland. You can PM me for more details.

Ok so in the spirit of giving back. My interview went thus:

VO: Good morning maam (The guy was smiling)
Me: Good morning. How do you do?
VO: How do you do?
He asks me to pass my passport and the confirmation sheet
VO: So where are you travelling to?
Me: I tell him
VO: Ok, so what will you be doing over there?
Me: I intend to have my baby.
VO: Oh so you are pregnant?
Me: I am (I dey over show sef)
VO: What arrangements have you made so far?
Me: I have been in touch with a doctor and I have an appointment already.
VO: Can I see any correspondence you have?
Me: I hands over my appointment letter, bill estimate and emails with the doc's office
VO: Who is sponsoring this trip?
Me: My husband and I
VO: Ok, so do you and your husband work?
Me: Yes we do. Do you want to see documentation to that effect? I also gave him the consent letter from hubby
VO: Yes please. How much do you both earn?
Me: I tell him our combined monthly income
VO: Can I see you bank statements please?
Me: I pass them over to him and I go on to explain why I have one recent deposit of a lump sum (which was a recently liquidated fixed deposit)
VO: That's fine. Are you quite certain that the funds you have set aside will cover your bills?
Me: I am, and our regular monthly income can settle any other bills I may incur
VO: I see (He smiles)
Me: I smile back cos the guy was actually maintaining eye contact sometimes
VO: Ok maam, I am approving your visa today. Kindly pick it up on... and then he passes me the white sheet.

I almost peed in my undies expecting the GC issue to come up, but to glory of God it didn't. cheesy

On a serious note, What about phoenix or elpaso? Their package is more pocket friendly and straightforward.

Mobap could have been an alternative but the affiliate DRs are starting to act brand new.

CS is pain to both the body and the pocket, but the joy of having the baby placed in one's arms makes everything all worth it.

Yeah, I have the prices of all these cheaper hospitals though elpaso is now $6925 minus circumcision. For now, I'm stuck with Houston cas I've bought my tickets (me, mum and toddler). My mum is also not very well so I had to book an accommodation package that includes a lot of care services (soul care) so as not to stress her. So with these limitations I can't be on a budget. I have to look for the money anyhow. The only magic that can happen right now is if I get an affordable hospital in Sacramento, California where I have close family. But I have searched and searched without success. I even checked counties outskirts of Sacramento. Anyway, there is God ooo! shocked My American dream must come to past.
