Unbelievable cheesy
Pls,don't impose your ignorance on igbo people. Ibo is pure trash,a misspelling,a misnomer. Igbo people are trying to correct an error of european colonization and you are shouting unbelievable.
Who is the dunce that liked your comment? lol.
We have Ohaneze ndi Igbo, not Ohaneze ndi Ibo.
Igbo and Ibo are not interchanged,it is totally wrong.

What exactly are you trying to prove? Are you trying to teach me about my own history or culture?
Ibo is not used by anybody but stark illiterates like you. Ibo is not a variant of igbo, this i have explained its history and origin.
No sane igbo person use ibo in speech or in writing. Your insults are more like teenage rantings, foolish man!
Ibo is not a derivative of Igbo. There is no ibo man or ibo people in Nigeria. You opened a link that gave you a 19th century definition of ibo. Why don't you make your research and see that ibo is very improper.

The Igbo people, historically spelled Ibo,[2] are an ethnic group of southeastern Nigeria. They speak Igbo, which includes various Igboid languages and dialects.[3][4] Igbo people are one of the largest ethnic groups in Africa.[5] In rural Nigeria, Igbo people are mostly craftsmen, farmers and traders. The most important crop is the yam; celebrations are held annually to celebrate its harvesting.[6] Other staple crops include cassava and taro.[7]

Before British colonialism, the Igbo were a politically fragmented group. There were variations in culture such as in art styles, attire and religious practices. Various subgroups were organized by clan, lineage, village affiliation, and dialect. There were not many centralized chiefdoms, hereditary

I have already explained the ''history'',take it or leave it.
Just arguing for nothing...strangers can't teach me my culture!
Igbo not Ibo!

you should have done better.

Yes madam, and is this your response to all the issues i have raised ?

are your insults the answers i requested to defend all your assertions that you couldn't substantiate ?

and have you not failed the little girls whom you wanted to teach how to carry themselves , seeing that you don't have the emotional stability to endure opposing views and intellectual prowess to carry debate without venting your frustrations with insults and curses ?

the joke is on you now. you are truly a wonderful example of a graceful woman.

you see why the wife of nairalife is way out of your league ? if you cant handle a simple debate on an online forum, how the heck can you manage a husband with, home and kids plus your career ?

women of steel are silent and resilient in their family duties, they are never running from thread to thread pretending to be 21st century wind of change.

you need to be factory-reset to unlearn all the doctrines that has morphed you into a social hazard.

have a nice day, king's daughter. I shan't be engaging you any further.

goodbye.

I don't suffer fools gladly! After the argument about women, you started ranting about Igbo and Ibo. And as an igbo person,i tried to explain to you the difference bwt Igbo and Ibo on numerous occasions. Yet you kept insisting on your idea which is very wrong. Real men accept corrections when they are wrong! I guess you feel a woman should not correct your erroneous views?
Like i said, you have a 16th century myopic definition of an idea woman. Am not going to sit on this thread, shut my mouth and let you say rubbish about my gender or my culture!
I already got tired of your trolling a long time ago,but i had to respond when you shifted to igbo culture as an avenue to reinstate your opnion about igbo traditions and women.
If you idea of an idea wife,is that who knows that something is wrong but chooses to remain silent to stroke your ego then guys like you are just cowards that can't handle a real woman when they meet her.
Nobody has the monopoly of insults, you Misyarn,i Misyarn! Why didn't you caution that guy that was calling women cun-t and all sorts of rubbish? Egocentric creatures!
What example? Nairaland has nothing to do with any woman's marriage or relationship. As far as i know, men spill their dirty rubbish on narialand, something that should be a family affair.
I am going to insult any man who believes in degrading women to fit into his life. Besides, you are the one that lack emotional stability and intellectual poweress so far on this thread. You will come back to quote me snice you can't accept a little correction and analogy.
You have not even raised an opposing view. Spelling igbo as ibo and shuting women up is not opposing,it is foolishness!

This Nairalife dude needs some Floyd Mayweather flavour in his life. His wife must surely be reserving his punishment somewhere in the nearest future. No sane person treats a human that way and goes scot free for whatever you sow you must reap. I trust women to lay low till when they can strike.

and please, I dare you, any Ibo lady who acquired her father's land did so statutorily never by tradition. She will need the EUROPEAN influenced court to introduce the doctrine of no descrimination to any one based on sex, birth circumstances etc.

Ibo culture varies, but when it comes to women and inheritance, they all sing the same song with
a resounding chorus.
This is not true.
In parts of Enugu State if a man dies without a son his eldest daughter inherits and her children carry on her father's lineage.

Both of you are Ignorant! No real igbo calls herself Ibo. Why don't we have IBOKWE or even NDIIBO?
Get out of this thread, foolish troll!
How can you sit at home and point out who is more igbo than the other?
Still waiting for a reasonable contribution from ignorant folks like you.
Igbo scholars have pointed out that they want igbo people to be addressed as IGBO,yet you insist on making a mess of yourself because you met some fake igbos that addressed themselves as ibo.
If you are reasonable, you would know that Ibo and Igbo are pronounced differently. Stop pouring your ignorance and dumbness on this thread.
I don't know how non-igbos can sit behind a phone and tell igbos how they should address themselves or how to spell their ethnic group.
Is that not crazy?
Rubbish!

nairalife2013:
Those who go the extreme must be sure of themselves and what they are doing. @Ngokafor, there are people who stretch farther than the rest. Some women love being unconditionally obedient and respectful to men. Thatz their nature. They can never abuse, workout on or spit at som1, no matter the provocation. They have tongues that only speak of peace and apologies. Thier joy is in caring for all and thier pride is in mediation aided by feminine powers. I know of many of such ladies who would quietly walk away in the face of confrontation, even when they were innocent and should atleast exchange a few invectives with the antagonist to register thier uprightness . I needed that type and if I went the extreme distance to get it, itz all for my good and that of my kids and even my wife.
Dont do like me.
My wife had her own way of appraising me: If am obedient and respectful and feminine to the core, what could be my longterm benefit and that of my kids from this man. Is there any reason to shore up with him? He is more than me in wisdom, age, wealth and everything. Am extremely proud of him and so much inlove. Should I let my longborne pride rub me of his love and care. I am a woman, I must get what I want not by might...
Just this evening, I was in the tennis court when my wife called that she took her suv to the carwash and I should take that route on my way back from the club so she can join me home. When I got there I met an old freind long lost sipping some beverage at a table in the adjoining pavilion. We three sat there and had a chat for about two hours. All the while, my concentration was on my wife and my wife's on me and we held eachother to serries of our usuall ribcracking conversation. As we all made to depart the place, The guy told me to my wife's hearing "man, I see this kind of relationship mostly in movies. This is more than a marriage. This for sure is somthingelse." My wife just smile at him. I smiled too at him. We hear that always from all sorts of folks! Our minds were just eager to be let alone asap so we can continue chating and laffing and my wife would have more space to continue forming baby and cuddling in my arms an on my shoulder. My wife is a rare breed that cannot survive a day without talking to me or putting her head on my shoulder or holding my hand. If u like shove her away, she will spontaneously come bak to the spot immediately thereafter, like a little girl to her mother! She is incapable of habouring malice in her heart for the sun to return and meet. Only God can explain her ways for mortals to understand. U do not know what I found. I didnt have a penny to her knowledge when I was courting her. I choosed to live in a room apartment that had no lavatory inside. We took our bath in a tapolin enclosure with other tenants. it was my choice! I dont toy with my wife. Anytime I spoke and got angry and keep malice when we were dating, She would cry and beg till I change my mind. She would sit one place and sober up till u become the one weeping and begging her to cheer up. And as soon as u say that, u see her remarkably pretty face lighting up like the spring pix of a wellpainted artwork!
Am not saying men should beat thier wives. Am not saying women should be stubborn and careless to macho plight. Am advicing all to make thier beds well as they chose- while there is time, and pray for luck and chance ever after.
WOW! SUCH A WONDERFUL MUMMY. she will be a role model to her kids. i love her

She made a correction that "Igbo" and "Ibo" are not the same, have you admitted it yet?
That is the problem I have with most of you, her username is an Igbo phrase that few people know its meaning, that is the first pointer that she has a root and an authority to speak for where she comes from, in your own case, you have wikkipedia to distort the facts that she gave you free of charge.
While you may be an advocate of decorum and ethics, when will you advocate for decorum in passing information?
In your locust brain, it is cool to mis inform people that "Ibo" and "igbo" are interchangeable without considering the long run effect of those lies, The lies of our fathers, we are still striving to erase from the consciousness of this generation.

in the fight against misinformation, decorum is a luxury no sane person should afford, misinformation is a plague that must be fought with every might at all cost, don't expect a pat on the back when you are deluded and ignorant and not ashamed to say it in public.
Where you don't know, ask and you shall be informed, coming out of caves to spew nonsense here is a malady that must stop!!

grin grin grin please stop e-stalking me to even up after the last whooping i handed you at the military thread.

you are a bitter, deranged soul not worth the debris in a used wine glass.

her bearing a native user name does not make her an "authority" in Ibo culture. at the very best her opinion will be very considered.

again, even if i were wrong- which is still debatable- they will be considered errors not "lies". bearing in mind that wiki and all modern dictionaries and encyclpaedia still use the word in english. it has not even been demoted to "archaic" level yet.
