fidelism:I got my OAU ECA 14 months agos. At that time, the pressure was not this intense. My brother obtained it on my behalf and sent it through courier. They obliged him because he was a Phd student and was very persuasive. They verified my certificate by email which made the whole turnaround time about 4 -5 weeks. |

helovesme:It's a bit complicated as i'm reading recently how folks who studied Masters in Canada but first degree in their home country are having issues with CIC after having being given ITA. CIC is telling them they can't find their ECA details on WES website, but the same CIC has earlier said if you have a Canadian Degree, you don't need ECA. It seems however, that since they have registered their Bsc which is foreign, CIC will want the Canadian equivalency, whether the Masters was done in Canada or not. What i can say(kindly note that its an opinion and not an authoritative advice) is that, if you registered Bsc that is not Canadian, you may need to evaluate it as well so that you wont be logged on story.com by CIC at the end of the day. Besides, i think you wont be paying extra to WES if you include your Bsc after having asked them to do only the Foreign degree. To be better assured though, you can contact CIC and let them tell you what to do. |

Kirri:How does joining a professional body increase your score? Wont you have to write their exams and get certificated first? Abeg, enlighten me on this o . Meanwhile, if you know of any or can help with available jobs in that line, kindly let me know. It's what i've been wanting to do. I used to know the two major professional bodies in Supply Chain in Canada but i've forgotten now. May have to research again |

JesusDWay i am applying as the main applicant but also including my husband's details, IELTS score, etc Is it possible for him to apply as the main applicant and also add me on to his profile? that way, we've got two profiles in the pool. one for him and one for me - and maximise our chances of getting selected. is this allowed? |
| Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by mozo: 2:34pm On May 07, 2015 |
Kirri:lol @ 'my ancestors' ...seriously..lol |
| Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by mozo: 2:49pm On May 07, 2015 |
helovesme:My opinion is this.. If you guys have two different profiles in the pool, but the same number of points on the two profiles and the same information.. Really don't see this as maximizing your chances.. Reason being that the selection process is all based points on individual profiles.(not dual profiles) Cos when they send you your ITA, they won't send another ITA to your husband, due to the similar profile already in their database.. But hey, its just my opinion |
| Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by JesusDWay(m): 4:11pm On May 07, 2015 |
helovesme:Its not necessary, the highest point is what maximizes your chance, not two profiles. Check who will have the highest points between you two and let the person be the principal applicant. I noticed you didn't say he has ECA, if he hasn't done it and he will likely have more points than you if he does it, i will say you encourage him to do ECA for his qualifications. If he won't do it(some spouses are just coasting along, they are not very enthusiastic about it), then you have to be the principal applicant but his IELTS will boost your points a bit |
| Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by tola73(m): 7:17pm On May 07, 2015 |
Kirri:I'm not sure being a member will boost your point. I'm a Procurement/supply chain person. I'm currently holding a membership of Institute for Supply Managent USA. I will write their proffesional exam this month ( CPSM 1 and 2) and write the CPSM 3 latter in July. Once i pass the three exam I can then apply for my certificate which can will be converted to SCMA in Canada. |

JesusDWay:I have applied for several purchasing jobs in Canada but they keep coming back to me that I have to be a citizen or permanent residence before they can offer me job. I'm a Nov applicant with NOC 0113 and PER in March. Hopefully at the rate AVO is going maybe it will get to Nov applicant by October. If you need more detail about the certification for Procurement you can PM me |

Is there anybody who applies for the MPNP (Manitoba Provincial Nominee program) because they seem to have adopted express entry stylr of first registering your interest first. |

| Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by JesusDWay(m): 11:44am On May 08, 2015 |
oladeleadebayo1:Not taking a jab at you but it's good if you take time to go through what has been posted earlier on this topic. The leg work you need to do presently is to register for IELTS(General) and write the exam while at the same time, process your transcript to be sent to World Educational Services for evaluation to determine it's equivalency in Canadian education. When you have the two, you can then apply for Express Entry. You can in the meantime also go on www.cic.gc.ca to learn about Express Entry and it's requirements |
| Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by Sleekjaguar: 12:07pm On May 08, 2015 |
helovesme:Nope! What I meant was that irrespective of where you studied, if your 2nd/ highest degree is in the same field, it'll save you time to evaluate the highest degree only but if they're different and you're applying under the NOC for the lower(st) one, then it makes sense to include the latter in the ECA report. Whichever the case, you'll still get the maximum points for the highest degree. It's the time factor and possible delays that you must consider. One thing I do know is that WES doesn't send verification requests to foreign institutions in the UK after receiving your transcripts from them. |
