GMB is the President-elect of Nigeria and not the President of the Muslims ...I see no reason why he can't shake hands with the opposite sex.

This is the most ridiculous thing ever... He is the president of a country. So if he meets a female President or Prime minister, what is he to do; Would a hug be more appropriate?

Shaking a lady islamically its a sin, but at the same its not. according to your role in the society GMB is a president to be and he has no choice. some people will come here to critisize what is not as if allah is sango, ogun, or obatala. note this is 21th century everything has changed and people wont be able to praticalize islam or other religion the same way in 1890

My respect for GMB grows daily. Taken, his religion might have reservations about that action, but we shud understand that this is a Foreign Lady at a formal occassion. What if she stretched her hand first? What should he have done? Snub her?

Pls u guys shud understand that he is now first and foremost a President elect of a Federal Republic.

This action is not just noble, it tells me that the incoming presido is a balanced, unbiased matured man that has all his faculties working.
