nefertitiram: Thanks. Sorry o, neffy, I'm poor with financials. When I'm in the US, how do I transfer my money from my Gtbank account to the American account? |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by nefertitiram: 12:41am On May 22, 2015 |
dittobaby: Is it a Naira or a Dollar account. Personally I withdraw using atm. I don't know the GTB exchange rate right now, but access is doing 208 to $1. Nigeria is making it more difficult to transfer from Nigeria, except you have dollars in a Domiciliary account. If you have a good rapport with your account officer, you can send instructions via email to move funds to your US account. Swift and Bank Charges will apply. |

Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by dittobaby: 1:11am On May 22, 2015 |
nefertitiram: Now I get it. If I withdraw my money to get Dollars in the American ATM, then it will not be affected by any sudden rise in the dollar-naira exchange rate. So it means the American account is just for safe keeping of my dollars. Right? And please what is the maximum ATM withdrawal one can make per day in the US. |

@ nefertitiram @ dittobaby, I opened a savings acc@ fidelity & did my PTA same day @ 199.5, I also asked the lady what the fx rate for Pos & atm is and she said since its a daily fluctuation thing she wouldn't be able to give an accurate figure but she's sure it can't be significantly higher than the bank rate of 199.5 since that's what ALL their transactions is priced at..... I know GT is 210 on a good day and can get up to 213-215 on a "gooder" day. Will do a withdrawal from my fidelity acct when I get to the states and if the rate is as good as am assuming, will transfer my reserves from GT to fidelity... |

shamecurls:Which country? Nigeria or USA? If USA, It all depends on which state she's in. If Houston, check Tvegas post for detailed information on this. If Nigeria, then yes you only to get Nigerian Passport. |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by eatwell423: 3:41pm On May 22, 2015 |
nefertitiram:You are wasting your funds withdrawing from ATM, the charges are not friendly. Why not try to go to either walmart or kroger and buy money order swiping, there is no bank charges and money order of $1000 the charge is just 79 cent and you can buy depending on the amount you want and deposit or exchange for cash in a bank. Some bank atm might charge $3 for withdrawal and GTbank will also charge you N480 or so. Mind you the $300 minimum withdrawal doesn't affect money order purchase, it affects only ATM withdrawals 10 Likes |

Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by nefertitiram: 4:07pm On May 22, 2015 |
eatwell423: Have you tried it yourself or you are just repeating someone else? I tried it and was going to get a $10 per transaction charge for using a debit card, in addition to bank charges, to buy money order so before you echo what you heard, please get your facts straight. I withdraw from chase bank atm, no $3 charges, except access bank atm charge of N420. 1 Like |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by eatwell423: 4:11pm On May 22, 2015 |
nefertitiram:That is false except you went to a currency exchange which you get charged. Go to Walmart or Kroger or Direct western union office and not agent. So the above information you got is false. I use my GTbank always to buy money order and it has worked fine including my friends who school here. So you need not echo ignorance in the face of fact. I can see you're too fast to respond to post, rather read properly, I said some banks might charge you $3 for withdrawal from their ATM. With ATM the withdrawal limit is $300 as stated by GTbank, but you can use GTbank card and swipe for a money order of $1000 and you're only charged 79cent. 14 Likes |
