Feminism isn't an association but a way of life.

You go wait tire.

Religion is indoctrination.

Not really.
BTW, one might deny being a feminist, but her action portray her as one.
That's why I said so.

It doesn't.

Woman A feminism isn't same as woman B.
Adichie portrays feminism while dressing moderately.

Beyonce portrays feminism dressing provocatively.

Beyonce exhibits her feministic beliefs by dressing provocatively?
is that feminism being portrayed or slutiness?

Lol, feminism isn't about how you dress.
You can dress like Lady gaga. Feminism is like not cricticizing anyone if she wants to be slutty or modest.

I am not against it. I work with females both over, at and below my level
I believe women should aspire to the best of their potential
I don't support spousal abuse
I believe both sexes have a right to be heard and aspire to their best
women own property

rather than phrase that question as for or against
Why don't you ask what is being achieved by modern feminism

You are very articulate,
when you finish your education, you will earn the same wages as your male counterparts at the same level

so I still don't get what the fuss is all about

Well, I'm not marginalised, per se.
But, achieving those thing people think only man can achieve.
Going against status quo and doing whatever you think without caring about people's opinion should make one a feminist.

Are you saying Ms Adichie, Ms Beyonce are marginalised? The answer is NO.

Picking and choosing, mate...

Behaviourally, most Nigerian women are still very shy and body conscious.
Besides, their na.kedness is their selling point - expose that and they'll have close to nothing to be forming hard-to-get for.

exactly.. I still don't get the reason you guys carry this mantra

going against the status quo is not feminism but non-conformism

I never said beyoce was marginalized

I don't carry it on my head o.

I only exhibit it on Nairaland whenever men make their misogynist thread or comment.
No one dares it with me in the real-world.

In the real world, my attitude judge me not ranting i'm a feminist.

Do you think Men should open the door for a female? Do you think a woman should/can propose to a man
Do you believe in Chivalry, Do you think a man should stand up for a female or help her with heavy loads?

Do you think Serena Williams should play against men like Rafa Nadal?
Do you think men and women sport should be merged so they can compete equally
Do you think women should be allowed to go to warfront

I haven't read the whole ten page, just the topic.
But this is rubbish!
This is the same West that ridiculed my foremothers for being bare-chested and called them primitive. Now they want to be naked. They are hypocrites as far as I'm concerned. If it were African women on this campaign, I will support them. Not these hypocrites.
Besides, as a confirmed, unabashed prude, I don't believe in the excessive exposure of sexuality. Please I don't want my eyes bastardized. Imagine seeing a man walking with his di.ck out all in the name of freedom, I will be the first to call the police.
The same old standards of sexuality women are held to, men should be held to such standards.
If women cannot go barechested, men should not be allowed to go barechested, rather than since men can go barechested, women should as well. Since women are slut-shamed, men MUST be slut-shamed! All sluts male and female are deviants to society and should be prosecuted. This is my kind of equality.
Re: Free The Nip-ple Protest - Eye Candy or Groundbreaking by pickabeau1(op): 5:57pm On May 26, 2015
hold your horses

Take the issue one by one

1. men's nip-ples are not censored in media unlike women's. should womens' be?

2. men can move around barechested say in a beach or pool. should women be able to do so (not nudist beach)

why advocate for less freddom when that boat has passed

3. do you believe the breasts became sexualized by the white man

You can start by refusing any such thing as dowry or brode price or bridal list or whatever. Then on the wedding day you may refuses to kneel and serve him palmwine or cake or meat or whatever; alternatively, you may insist that you both kneel and serve each other. After that, you will be taken seriously, not before.

Do Nigerian men open door for woman? lmao.
well, i believe anyone should do it out of respect irregardless of gender involved.
Do you think a woman should/can propose to a man
Anyone that feels so.
Do you believe in Chivalry,
Yes, marriage is union of two people.
Do you think a man should stand up for a female or help her with heavy loads?
Out of generosity.
Some stronger women also help older men, older women and weaker women.
Do you think Serena Williams should play against men like Rafa Nadal?
Lmao! it's based on gender, biko.
it doesn't mean female and weaker to men.
I can bet my last kobo, that Serena will beat some men in lawn tennis and it doesn't make them less equal to serena.
I believe that men are different from women.

Do you think men and women sport should be merged so they can compete equally
No

Do you think women should be allowed to go to warfront

This is an equality issue and as a conservative prude I really do not want to see another woman or man's chest randomly. grin
1, 2) Western men should be told to cover up instead rather than Western women not covering up. That was their culture, otherwise they are hypocrites for campaigning for nipple freedom since they insinuated African women as primitive for being bare-chested, unless they are now the primitive ones. Society dictates to the media and not the other way round. Excessive sexual freedom does nothing for society rather you unleash deviants with loose morals to the society.

3) Brea.sts were sexualized by societies who covered up the chest area, primarily the white man. And Africa was known as a sexual hot-spot to the white man due to the nudity in Africa. Such nude liberties cannot even work in Africa today, because African minds have been polluted already.
