It is as if we are unravelling the very programming language used to create us! Time, space, blends in perfectly into each other, everything seems planned! Look at the sun. It's power gave us oil. And we have used that oil to this moment and we are discovering how to harness it's power directly. Each time the earth is in danger of destruction, it survives! I mean, why hasn't man blown himself up? What is stopping us? Why is it that earth is always at the brink of destruction, yet you and I are still here? Why do we know what DNA is made of, yet have no idea how it is made? Why is it that everything we discover can be classified based on previous record? It's just too easy! Why hasn't an organism with man's intelligence dominated the seas? What about the birds? We have had the same time to develop. Why are we the best?

There is so much that proved that this world is not alone. That this world did not come by chance, that this world is running on specified rules, that an infinite intelligence was involved in the synthesis of this world. Which is why, I choose, to believe.[/color]

Student : What about darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as darkness?

Professor: Yes. What is night if there isn’t darkness?

Student : Sir, you are working on the premise of duality. You argue there is life and then there is death, a good GOD and a bad GOD. You are viewing the concept of GOD as something finite, something we can measure. Sir, Science can’t even explain a thought. It uses electricity and magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either one. To view death as the opposite of life is to be ignorant of the fact that death cannot exist as a substantive thing.

Death is not the opposite of life: just the absence of it. Now tell me, Professor, do you teach your students that they evolved from a monkey?

Professor: If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process, yes, of course, I do.

Student : Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir?

(The Professor shook his head with a smile, beginning to realize where the argument was going.)

Student : Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at work and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavor. Are you not teaching your opinion, sir? Are you not a scientist but a preacher?

(The class was in uproar.)

Student : Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen the Professor’s brain?

(The class broke out into laughter. )

Student : Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor’s brain, felt it, touched or smelt it? No one appears to have done so. So, according to the established Rules of Empirical, Stable, Demonstrable Protocol, Science says that you have no brain, sir. With all due respect, sir, how do we then trust your lectures, sir?

(The room was silent. The Professor stared at the student, his face unfathomable.)

How can "belief" be a certainty when it is not "empirical knowledge"

When something is certain it no longer needs to be believed, if actually you are sure a god exist, you wouldn't be saying "Believe" but you would be saying "i know".


Now you want to liken a simple maths rule of 2+2=4 and reduce it to a simpleton dimension of belief.
I have given this example before..
Their is a huge difference in saying
I know 2+2=4 (certainty)
and
I believe 2+2=4 (unsure)

I think it is very clear when someone says "i believe 2+2 is not 4 that its just plain fallacy born out of maybe ignorance or dishonesty.

Re-evaluate your analogy and see where your fallacies fall in...
Now tell me who is being dishonest here; The one who thinks belief is a form of certainty (when its not certainty), if belief its a form of certainty it wouldn't be belief anymore but knowledge...

Exactly what i was waiting for... Faith doesn't make anything true or even probably true, that you believe something with faith only shows you do so whether its true or not... This definition is not even different from what the dictionary gave us.

Following the simple basic mathematics 2+2, its takes only knowledge in simple basic maths to know it is 4 (numerically), i wonder where faith comes in on this.
