I haven't been able to respond to all the PMs, here's the thing.
Please contact St. Bernard's Hosp (women's wellness clinic) and Roseland Community Hospitals in SouthSide Chicago. You can go through their website for the doctor with 30 years ob/gyn experience and his contact. Alternatively, once you mention self pay, the clinic will refer you to him, and be nice enough to help you book an appointment with him.

St. Bernard is about $2500 to $3000 for normal delivery, Doc fees is $3200. 2 days hosp stay.
Roseland is slightly cheaper. But same doc and his fees.
Payment is cash only.

please go through use this link.

Thanks. This is so helpful. Now like I mentioned my only worry is if they would take the consent form I have which was notorised before I left home. If I was close to houston I won't be this concerned cos I know they accept from any notary public (if I am not mistaken) but dallas is more ideal for me

You can but they'll give you the 1 year passport instead of the 5 years one. I know someone who did that in NJ some years ago.
It's really up to you if you're really pressed for time.

What keywords are you using to search? If you put in 'hospitals in miami' i'm sure stuff will come up. Click on each one, and look for the services they offer, if obstetrics or gynaecology shows up, look for their patient services or business office numbers and plan to call them. Most hospital websites usually have a list of doctor associated with them, you can also get numbers for doctors and call too.

This is what I had to do when I was searching for doctors and hospitals in Orlando. I must have called more than 30 doctors' offices before I found my doctor.

Roll up your sleeves and get to work! Good luck.

Hi Shelly

Yes I did, in Orlando.

For the birth certificate, I picked up from the vital statistics office which is a walking distance from the hospital, they even have the option to deliver it to you in the hospital (it's ready 2 days after you fill the paperwork in the hospital).
social security number came in the mail like a week or so after birth (also applied for it in the hospital).
For the US passport, went to the nearest passport agency to apply and got it in the mail about 2wks later.
For naija visa, did it myself on the naija embassy (DC) website.

Hi @ Shelly23 I intend to apply for the naija visa myself. 2 quick questions please
1. Did you use your Nigerian card to make visa fees payment, or did u use a us card if you have one or was it money order option you used?
2. I saw that both parents consent is required in writing, please what's the content of this letter (I mean a summary or format)?

well an experienced doctor is best to use, with good reviews and enough years of experience and for cheap flights starting from middle august till Sept you will definitely get cheap flights, last year I bought a ticket 2 days away from my date of travel in Sept because tickets were really cheap then.

fidelity has better rates than gtbank, so you can go with both cards i'm sure they'll be helpful, i'm sure euros too would have gone up just like dollars.

Won't the cross rates kill whatever advantage you get now?

Is your medical bills all CASH like my yeye chicago to compound the scary poe stories.

9,400 cash should take care of your bills I believe & CBN did a 5kobo grin adjustment yesterday so I'm a bit relaxed that the rate will behave till july/august cos this current 197-1999 band has been steady since Feb..

But I'll deny if the rate na deception. grin

Don't worry @modath, be prayerful. Chicago POE will be merciful to you, worst case scenario, they will delay you for max 5hours but they will not turn you back IJN. Did you read Akindolz experience?

It also seems most of the hosps are CASH only. They will put big caveat sef, No credit or Debit card accepted! Please hold your raw cash o! I haven't succeeded with money order yet, further compounding this dollar problem. I don tire so o!

The hospital accepts card payment but I was scared of d price of dollar going up but from your analysis I think I should calm down and use my Master card for hospital and hotel bills although I am scared of gtb cards now cos it seems their exchange rate is different. Will try getting a fidelity bank master/visa card
