I dont know if this is the right platform to post this. Pls house, am applying for US visa, I booked appointment using the ds -160 confirmation number am filling online and got appointment confirmation but I havent submitted the form yet. I plan to submit it soonest. Am aware both the appointment confirmation and ds-160 are supposed to have same confirmation number, but someone just said she was sent back because they said she booked appointment before submission of form which she said its not true. I guess her case should be from the recent system fault. Pls anybody with recent experience should help me ooo am already scared .

I don't see the submission of DS160 after booking an appointment as an issue at all. It has never been an issue, even during my time in 2013. In fact, I submitted my DS160 1 week to my interview date just to make sure I proof-read it over and over again till it became flawless.

If this has become an issue at the embassy, I would suggest that you fill out your DS160 and sbmit, cancel your booking and rebook again immediately (to another date maybe as you may not get the same date, and also if you have not cancelled your booking appointment more than once already as you have twice to cancel and reschedule). That is the best you can do at this point.

Hello all. My question I'm about to ask is a little different from Visa requirement and I hope y'all can help me.

I'm currently studying Economics in a private university in Nigeria and I'm considering transferring to a reputable (affordable) US university. I'm considering either transferring from my third or last year. An added advantage is that I'm an American Citizen. My question is what schools would y'all suggest that I apply to?

Please and thanks.

EDIT: Or the ones that'll allow me transfer.

hello guys, For those that got their visa fee receipts
reactivated, will they be required to input the reference
number printed on the visa fee receipt from gt bank,
when booking appointments or can the appointment-
booking be done automatically without inputting the
reference number?

Guy wasn't only u that the technical issues affected, even the day I went for mine almost 70% of applicants were disappointed including me. Ur submission date of ds-160 was on 9th June, right? Conversely mine was on 6th June.I tell U its a very serious issue. I wait till the problem is rectified before I make another move.

I see your interview couldn't pull through cos you submitted. Your DS160 on or after 9th of June. @Kenkool had his interview and got his visa today. He must have submitted his Ds160 form before that date.

We await the responce of those in your shoes. All is well.

1. Finding schools should be your own research. No one knows your field better than you. You should be able to do research.
2. Think your decision to apply with 288 GRE through. I'll still advice you to retake in order to avoid going through this process all over again. And also to avoid pain if you don't get funding. Frankly I don't think you'd get funding with that score.
3. I'm slightly curious to know the 'people' that have gotten GA with 288 GRE. You sound so precise. I'm curious to know some of these elusive people who got GAs with 288 GRE.
4. The schools you just mentioned did you research their biomedical facilities and capabilities or did you choose because people suggested it to you without even checking if the school is competent in your field?

I'll let this matter rest. I've adviced you based on My experience.
Ultimately, It's your decision to make.
Choose wisely.

Congrats Kenkool, please I want to know, when did you submit your application? Was it before the 9Th June issue started?
kenkool:
Visa approved at Lagos consulate this morning. I was the first person to be interviewed at about 8am.
I was called at window 10 where a guy with plenty beard was.
Here are the convo:
VO: What are you going to the U.S for?
Me: Am going to the U.S for my masters in Engineering technology
V.O: How did you know about Middle Tennessee State University (mtsu )
Me: I did a research online using Google.com, gradschool.com and usnews.com to narrow my search to my area of interest.
V.O: How many schools did u apply to?
Me: I applied to three schools
V.O: Which other two did u apply to and how many you got admitted to?
Me: North Dakoda state university and Georgia Tech and I also got admitted in North dakoda (framed answer tho lol )
V.O: So why mtsu?
Me: Mtsu has a curriculum which fit in to my area of interest also there is good student to faculty ratio.. and I was fascinated about the research work going on in the department by Prof. Cheng which is on computer-integrated manufacturing (Vo was nodding like agama lol )
VO: When did you pass out from UG
Me: November 2012
VO: What have you been doing (As expected)
Me: I went for youth service the following year which I completed last year 2014,since then I have been working in an engineering firm.
VO: What is your responsibility at the work (expected that also )
Me: I work as a technical engineer which I perform electrical wiring in the panel, testing and troubleshooting of electrical panel.
VO: So you will be working in school (referring to my GA )
Me: Yes Sir. (I didn't understand the question initially )
VO: What was your undergraduate major? (Last question )
Me: Electrical Engineering.
VO passed my i-20 to me without my passport and was typing oo (for my mind I know e don pure ),he now brought out the pick-up letter and circled a location there that I should pick my Visa there. I said thank you Sir and I bounced out lol.
I was not asked to show any document and was not asked who my sponsor is (He saw that I got funding from the school ).
Wanna thank God for the favour and also to all the gurus on this thread shout out to the following peopale; msnas (Thanks alot ma'am ), slimmy05 (Always there to help ), innovateame (my tutor, I appreciate bro ), profojah (expecting yours too bro ), walspring and other gurus here. Sorry about your denial. You simply have to pay another fee and look out for an available date provided it's not past your resumption date. However you need to post your interview transcript for gurus to help analyse and see where you might have gotten it wrong so you won't have to make same mistake. Take heart bro. Nothing good comes easy.
