Hello House,

My travel date is finally here (tomorrow) and i have a little glitch. I have like $5k in my BOA account, $5k cash and want to buy more but the Banks are saying that i cant use my mum's ticket to buy now since her travel date is still in August.

As at today, black market is 226 and i think that is too high compare to 200 at the bank.

Can i just leave the naira in my account and print my statement? I reckon i am better off using GT card rate than buying black market.

Please, I need you to respond fast to the PM I sent you.
My email is yinkathomas@yahoo.com. Thanks

Don't know about close to New York but in New York, I checked the following out "Kings County, Brooklyn, Queens Medical Center in Queens, Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, New York Hospital in Queens, I even went to wyckoff heights in Brooklyn and then finally settled for Mercy Medical Center in Long Island as their pricing was direct and straight forward (not so cheap but well, I have family less than 20mins to the hospital, so it was my best bet).

For c-section,just have well above 10k -12k dollars...

Most of the hospitals give discount for self paying patients...

Feel free to research on them.

All the best.

Cc: @tosyn2baby

Thanks, 12k is still good. I will post a feedback soon.

Nope am still using my maiden name, I need BC? Or Marriage certificate?
Also, can I use a regular notary public for the consent letter frm hubby for Passport or he must go to the embassy? I'm hoping he can send it b4 am due, I want to be out of here a mth after baby is born

Meant MC, silly auto correct. With the notary thing I can't say for sure but try the normal one first and if they don't accept, he will have to do it at the embassy. The good news is the embassy can mail it to the the agency of your choice for free( so he doesn't have to scan to you and all but he needs to make the request)
In 2011 NY agency accepted the normal notary but fast forward 2015 they only accept from the embassy.

Thanks for this information. I don't have the MC here but will ask hubby to scan me the marriage cert as soon as I can describe where I hid it in the vault inside portmanteau under the bed in the basement (lolz). Thanks for the embassy mailing info too, it will come in handy. Akindolz has been super helpful in taking me through the paperwork too, it is not a small something

Halos peoples, quick question.....
From the oldies and the recents, has anyone travelled at 35 weeks + 6 days? What was it like, and is it advisable?
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by toparie: 4:15pm On Jun 30, 2015
P/S: I've got confirmation from BA that they'll let you fly up until 36weeks

Not advisable, but if you don't have a choice, go right ahead.

Just rest very well ahead of the trip. All the best!

[quote author=hotmummy2015 post=33305930]Hi everyone, I have been a silent follower since december 2014, so now to give back to the followers of this thread. I had my interview on April 29 at 6,30am in lagos, i had been to the embassy in dec but i was denied then for no reason, the black lady in counter one was just a meanie, after speaking all the big big grammar and telling her all the numerous places i had been she still said i wasnt qualified for a visa bla bla, the purpose then was tourism as i wasnt pregnant then, anyways fastforward to the interview... the VO was a white woman in counter 6, beside one asian lady that was denying everyone that came to her, i was just praying in my mind that i wont land in
ME: Cumning, Georgia
VO: What is the purpose of the trip ( she still wasnt looking at me)
ME: To have my baby
VO: How far
VO: What do you do , how much do you earn ( I told her)
VO: DO you have doctors corresponsence, the break down of the cost
ME: Yes i do, I sharply handed her the excel summary budget, hospital costs ( Northside Hospital) , doctors costs etc
VO: she looks at the budget briefly, tosses it aside and starts to look at the hospital correspondence itself for a long time
VO: where did you get this costs on the budget sheet?
ME: I summarised it from all the correspondencies from the hospital , doctor etc, she finally picked up the sheet and scrutinized it seriously
VO: what of accommodation, tickets and feeding?
ME: accommodation is incuded in the sheet
VO: do you have family and friends in the US
ME: i have friends , no family
VO: let me see your statements ( I give her mine and my husband's) , she checks something pinned on the noticeboard beside her
VO: do you have additional statements ( I give her)
VO: this your doctors letter doesn't look original ( she was insinuating it wasn't emailed to me and maybe i just jingboed it)
ME: the obgyn coordinator emailed it to me directly and she has booked my appointment already in the doctors calendar and it all be

all the best[/quote congrats sis,pls I sent you pm pls reply

Almost all government health centers and general hospitals do have weekly immunization schedule in Lagos state and its free!. I use health center within my estate, never bother to stress myself with going to the hospital except for those vaccine not covered by the health center. BCG and polio is covered. So find out the one nearest to you. Good luck.
